Sandra and Jeff are amazing hosts! The B&B is beautiful, cozy, and has a very romantic fire place room. The train does pass by the Inn so it may get a little loud during your stay. However, Sandra and Jeff's hospitality and the facility itself make up for it 😊
We could not have asked for a more relaxing and wonderful weekend. The hosts go above and beyond to ensure that your stay is the very best. Details such as fresh flowers, pastries, and wonderful breakfast meals make this inn stand out. If you are looking to disconnect and just relax, this inn is for you!
Sandra and Jeff are the consummate hosts. From the time of arrival to the time of departure they offer five star hospitality. If you have not discovered The Hummingbird Inn do yourself a favor and book a stay. The fireplace room is warm and cozy and a wonderful place to watch NFL playoff football as we do with friends every year.
We were fortunate enough to spend the same weekend as the prior reviewer and could not agree more with her review. Sandra and Jeff’s warm hospitality was evident from the moment we walked in the door. A wonderful, cozy experience by the colonial fireplace and culinary delights made this a wonderful romantic weekend .
What a treat staying at the Hummingbird inn! I stayed with my boyfriend for a 4 night stay to explore the southwest part of Virginia. Sandra greeted us. What a wonderful host. She was so helpful in helping us map out our plans for the day from hiking, to exploring wineries and breweries, exploring the parks and local towns. The 2 course breakfast in the morning was so scrumptious not only that but the treats(muffins, breads) prior to breakfast and the treats at night (expresso brownies , cookies) all were to die for. We enjoyed nights sitting by the fire and watching Netflix in the communal 1700 living space, strumming the guitar , sitting by the creek in the gazebo. The hummingbird inn is situated right by the railroad which is active to this day so you will hear trains at night. The room we stayed in was the Allegheny , a very spacious room, Queen bed, sitting area, gas fireplace and large bathroom. The biggest and the oldest room of the inn. Bed was extremely comfortable. All amenities provided were thought out. Highly recommend staying at the hummingbird, accessible to Lexington, Staunton, Charlottesville.…
The moment you walk in the front door at the Hummingbird Inn, you know you've found something special. The downstairs area features three comfortable and welcoming sitting areas (where you can find a warming fireplace, a large-screen TV, and even a guitar and a piano!) and the dining area (with another fireplace), which also includes their 24-hour coffee/tea bar. We had a wonderful one-night stay in the Eleanor Room (where Eleanor Roosevelt stayed during her visit to Goshen), a large room with a very comfortable king-sized bed, a sitting area, an electric "fireplace" (which doubles as a heater) and a well-appointed bath (dual-head oversized shower with great water pressure) with high-quality amenities. Breakfast in the morning was a gourmet delight, and throughout the entire experience we could tell that Sandra and Jeff put their hearts into making guests feel right at home. They are also very helpful with knowledge about the area and suggestions for things to do around Goshen, which is awash in history and natural beauty. Overall, the Hummingbird Inn offers travelers the utmost in comfort and relaxation. One of the finest places we've ever stayed. Highly recommended.…
This Inn is delightful in more ways then one. The historic home has a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Sandra (owner/host) is very attentive and makes sure you feel at home and comfortable and have everything you need. After staying in many B&B’s over the years this is one of the top rated in our book. It’s clean, comfortable and creative. So spread your tiny wings and make the Hummingbird Inn your next landing spot in Goshen, VA.
We loved the Hummingbird Inn. We stayed in the Serenity Cabin. It was beautifully built. Lovely and-comfortably furnished. The grounds are beautiful with a stream right behind the cabin. Sandra and Jeff are great hosts and the breakfasts are filling and delicious. We recommend this Inn for those who want a romantic getaway in the wilds of West Virginia. The magnificent Goshen Pass is just a short drive away. And don’t miss a trip to Wades Grist Mill, in operation since 1750.
We wanted a place to get away and chill, even if only for a few days. It was well-worth the trip! Tucked away in beautiful Goshen, VA, the Inn was lovely, everything we expected, and more, for the location and price. Even better were the Owners, Sandra and Jeff, who made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. It was hard to leave but did so with a promise to return. Wonderful!
Our stay at the Hummingbird Inn was great! The hosts were welcoming and attentive, the accommodations were very clean and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, and the atmosphere was relaxing. The outdoor landscaping is beautiful, with faint sounds of nature in the background—a perfect getaway.
