We were looking for a peaceful two night getaway for our 20th anniversary and discovered this delightful inn. The serenity cabin was perfect and so very quiet. With a stream running by right outside the window, we loved sitting and reading on the porch. There are also lots of wonderful hikes for all skill levels within just a few minutes drive. The breakfasts were delicious and the other guests were all super nice. Sandra and Jeff go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need for a relaxing escape. The place was very clean and well maintained. We will definitely visit again.

We have been traveling up and down I-81 for the last year to visit a new grandchild, and we have stayed at great BnBs during Covid19. We thought we were taking "a chance" when we booked The Hummingbird Inn, but what we discovered was extraordinary relaxation and hospitality! We booked a 3-night stay as a mini-vacation from our travels, and we were not disappointed. Everything about the Inn exceeded our expectations! The room was lovely (Stable View), the 2nd floor veranda provided lovely views of the grounds accompanied by the sounds of the creek for morning coffee over evening visits over tea and the afternoon/evening baked treat, and the breakfasts were the best we have enjoyed in several years. Sandra is a wonder in the kitchen, and found delicious alternatives for my husband's dietary preferences. Be prepared for the remoteness of the location--most places you might want to visit are 30-60 minute drives, but there is so much to do in the area, it's not hard to put together a couple of adventures on any given day. You can explore numerous hiking venues, visit breweries and vineyards, get history lessons on early America, enjoy the breath-taking scenery driving west on I-64, and sample a wide range of dining options in several towns within that 30-60 minute distance that are easily tagged on to your day's itinerary. Don't miss this hidden gem!

Wife and I spent a weekend in September at the Hummingbird Inn to celebrate her birthday. Our hosts were amazing and the inn is just beautiful. Built in the 1800's the inn celebrates its history by maintaining the 1800's charm while still providing the nicest of amenities like the jetted soaking tub in our private bathroom. The breakfasts were amazing and the company of the other guests even better. There are so many things to do nearby including hiking, wineries, breweries, fine dining in both Staunton and Lexington and so much more. We will definitely be back soon.

From the moment we stepped into the B&B we felt right at home. We selected the babymoon package and it was the perfect getaway prior to our second baby coming so soon! Every detail down to the itinerary was immaculate. Sandra and Jeff take pride in their B&B and want you to feel relaxed. Thank you for providing the exact weekend we needed.

Sandra, the inn keeper was so friendly, and the place is beautiful. She's happy to share the history of the Inn built is the 1730's. It's been updated leaving enough original to keep the history. The food is excellent, the rooms are clean and comfortable. We will be back.
