We stayed at the Marpounta hotel and resort in September 2019. A beautiful place in a quiet relaxing setting with its own private beach. We had all inclusive with Secret Escapes and were very pleased with the whole package. The food and drink were top class and the staff very attentive. Yes I would agree the walk from the reception to the room is a little steep but all the better to work off the lovely food (& drink)! We had Thos Cook flights and the hotel were very professional, helping with arrangements to get home. We met some nice people there who we spent some lovely evenings with. Would definitely go back.

We booked this holiday through Voyage Privee at a very good price. As the holiday drew nearer we became concerned regarding the timings for plane-transfer-ferry etc. Voyage Privee were not at all helpful & couldn't provde any further information (we have used them before & they were always good) However, we really shouldn't of worried Marpunta really do have the whole thing under control. Very well co-ordinated transfers and our check in was very efficient. We had booked a Garden View room, (room 306) the room was very small and as you opened the door we were confronted with 4 steps inside up to the bathroom and wardrobe area. A further 2 steps took you up to the bedroom area. Very small room, wardrobe and bathroom but the quality of everything was outstanding. Beautiful bedding, very comfy bed and pillows which is important to me as I have arthritis. Beautiful thick towels, dressing gowns and slippers provided as well as complimentary toiletries which were replenished on a daily basis. We are well travelled and used to staying in 4 & 5* accommodation, this has to be the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in ... everything was absolutely immaculte. The hotel has been refurbished and has been given a very comtemporary feel to the rooms, pool and the sunbeds are the best we have ever encountered in a resort. The quality and variety of food in the main buffet restaurant was outstanding so much so that we didn't bother to use the a la carte which you could use with a reservation. The staff in all areas were lovely, friendly and efficient. Although we do not ever choose to lay on a beach we did regularly swim in the sea, it was beautifully clean and warm but is is pebbly so sea shoes are a must. Don't worry if you forget or don't have any as the onsite shop sells them for 8 euros. I do think people really need to be aware that the steps/path up to the rooms from the main part of the hotel is very steep and rather irregular underfoot. A few elderly people were not aware of this when booking & just couldn;t cope with it. Yes, there is either a buggy or George with the minibus but obviously if you wished to take advantage of this you possibly would have to wait. We didn't use either as we needed to help burn off all the delicious food and alcohol! Because of the height you are climbing up it does give amazing views and sunsets. I took advantage of the 4 exercise classes a day provided by the Italian team, unfortunately 2 days after we arrived the Italians were going home & therefore the team went as well so no further classes available! All in all yes a wonderful resort, a wonderful holiday met some lovely company. Not something we usually contemplate but a very big YES we would think of returning here again next year it was that enjoyable. On 3 days we had rain but 9 day of beautiful sunshine.

This is a 4 star location with 3 star accommodation. When you arrive in this magnificent beach setting you cannot fail to be impressed by the beautiful surroundings of sea, exquisite beaches and lots of pine trees which populate the entire resort area. Sensitively built (but clumsily designed) on the seashore with the majority of other apartments on an adjacent hilltop some 50 metres above the hotel’s main amenities, first impressions are overwhelmingly good. However, the majority of the apartments are VERY small with virtually no closet space- the rooms are basically single room sizes and single room closet space. Garden rooms are the mid price rooms and are very disappointing with almost all of these apartments NOT having ANY garden view at all. The rooms are penny pinching 3 star rooms at best. Because this is such a fantastic location people seem to tolerate these dreadful rooms. The food is pretty good and is ‘buffet style’. The general amenities of swimming pool and restaurant are good and there are two private, lovely, beaches as part of the resort - and a tennis court! If you can afford the few better apartments in this hotel then go for it - your experience will be superb - but sadly ‘economy’ does not work well here and I would suggest you look elsewhere if you enjoy spacious rooms. There is a shuttle bus to Patiteri but only a couple of runs each day - hours apart. Taxis are available.

We stayed at Marpunta for 10 days this September and it was absolutely amazing. The quality of the hotel is great and it's surrounded by breathtaking sea views. We had the all inclusive package and the food was amazing and a great variety every day. Drinks included pretty much all cocktails which were all made with quality branded spirits. The atmosphere is very chilled and great to relax - the beaches are wonderful and the pool is better than any other we've had before (the loungers are more like beds than loungers). Our room was very spacious with beautiful sea views and perfect to watch the sunset. There are regular free shuttles to Patitiri and various other tours/trips you can book. We rented a buggy and explored the whole island that way which was brilliant (cost of the buggy was 30 EUR per day; we have stayed on other Greek islands and paid 4 times as much). What we most enjoyed was the staff and how extremely friendly everyone was. Thank you to everyone at Marpunta for a wonderful time - we will come again!
