It was perfect! Andy & Tempe are lovely hosts! The cabins are clean, comfy and tastefully decorated - not old and musty like they often are. The breakfasts are delicious and the views from the deck are huge. Don’t miss the Blue Ridge Music Center next door. Thank you!
We stayed three nights in Wolf Ridge Cabin. This was our third visit to Fiddlers Roost. The location is idyllic and the cabin is wonderful. The breakfast are amazing and Andy delivers it to your cabin by pick -up every morning. Andy and Tempe are perfect hosts. We hope to return again in the future when we travel to the US from the UK.
We had a wonderful stay here - two nights in lodge 3 (Bear Run) and the owners were really helpful and welcoming even though we arrived very late and long after dark. The lodge itself is so comfortable - we slept wonderfully and really appreciated how at-home we felt immediately. The breakfasts (we had a home made omelette and waffles!) are every bit as good as everyone says they are, as is the experience of watching the sun set over the mountains from a hot tub. I really can’t recommend it highly enough.
You will enjoy your visit to Fiddler’s Roost Cabins just off the Blue Ridge Parkway! We stayed at the Owl’s Nest Cabin which was perfectly cozy, warm and had a convenient kitchen that was nicely equipped. Even in the rain it was enchanting. Breakfast was perfect and hosts were accommodating.
Cozy and rustic. The perfect place to relax and recharge. To be in nature but not without full amenities. We enjoyed 2 nights/3 days at the Wolf Cabin, and I was really impressed. You can tell a lot of time and attention was put into making it warm and inviting. There's a full kitchen with working appliances. The water is good and hot. Its ver clean. Good Satellite TV and internet, surprisingly, given the remote location. Highlights: the hot tub. Great to soak in and watch the rain. The porch: perfect place to sit and get lost in a book. The breakfast: sausage and egg casserole day 1. Day 2 perfectly cooked pumpkin pancakes with REAL maple syrup. Delicious both days. I highly recommend staying here and plan to come back.
Truly a hidden gem directly off the Blue Ridge Parkway on a mountainside and a short distance to Galax's Main Street, Fries and more. Private log cabins with big porches, hot tubs for two, bench swings, firepits, picnic tables, crickets, birds and the resident owl. Gourmet breakfasts greet you each morning which are incredible! I hesitated to do a review because I would like to keep this place a secret, but because the owners are genuinely kind, ridiculously nice people, I had to do them a solid. 😆
My daughter wanted to go horseback riding in Grayson Highlands. I scheduled and all-day horseback excursion to the top of Mt. Rogers with Tommy Billings (Billingsway Farm & Arena). We needed a place to stay so he suggested Fiddler's Roof where I booked for two nights. It was a wonderful experience - every thing was perfect. I had three teenage girls with me and they all loved it too - no complaints from anyone. The cabin was spotless - kitchen, bathrooms, etc - plenty of fresh towels, and beds were comfortable. I took firewood for the firepit but was able to get plenty of kindling and large sticks to make for a nice fire outside. The girls enjoyed the big hot tub after a long day of riding horses. It was a perfect vacation. Highly recommend. Five stars from this dad.
My husband and I stayed overnight at Fiddler's Roost Cabins and loved the experience. We were biking on the New River Trail the next day and decided to do an overnight in Galax. When I found the cabins, I was intrigued because it was right off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. We stayed at Twin Oaks Cabin (Cabin #1) and it was definitely off the beaten path. There was a mountain for our back yard, a huge porch, a hot tub and a porch swing. The cottage decor was so adorable and everything was clean and sparkling. We only came in contact with one of the owners once, and he was completely friendly and laid back. I did exchange a few friendly emails beforehand. The next morning, pumpkin pancakes baked with little apple slices and bacon were delivered to our door. We now plan to go back and spend more than one night!…
Stayed for 2 nights as a getaway. Thoughtful touches & everything u wd need. Loved the rustic, primitive decorations in our Wolf Ridge. From the quiet music playing upon entrance, hot tub ready, breakfast sign of 9-9:30, clean inviting bed, warm fireplace when we turned it on, to the porch string lights, privacy curtains, & visit from Samson...it was COZY. It was winter so we stayed in, walked some, & went into town Galax 15 mins away & Mt. Airy NC 30 mins away. Our cabin was small but cozy. It may have had cobwebs in the corners but the areas of use: need, bathroom, kitchen counter, dishes etc were spotless. The futon couch was small but that meant I had to lean on my husband to watch TV😉. Dim lighting but I managed to read some. Owners leave brkfast & don't linger to give u privacy. That's thoughtful not rude. We spoke w Andy several times for directions & to learn the history. Shower was large enough. Dishes, hair dryer etc provided. We r not picky people & didn't expect a 5 Star hotel but was a 5star cabin for us! ❤️ the hot tub & Andy actually ran down at 8:00 at night to help me when I got it locked up😊 Arrive during day & definitely need 4 wheel drive in winter in case of snow or ice. Will definitely be back again!! ❤️ this kind of BnB where u can sleep late & don't have to dress to get ur brkfast or get around other people!…
Fiddler's Roost is a hidden gem. My partner and I booked a stay to get away and recharge and our cozy cabin, the Roost, was just the ticket. We arrived to find the cabin warm and inviting upon entering, with the fireplace pilot lit and ready to go, and everything we could possibly need right at our fingertips. The cabin is appointed with linens, towels, fully equipped small kitchen including pots and pans, dishes, and glassware, and satellite television (we turned it on a grand total of once). The cabin was spotless and decorated along with the theme. I was glad we sprung for the lofted cabin option, because it provided so much room. The hot tub located on the porch was perfect, and we enjoyed the great privacy provided by the porch curtains and the mood lighting. We enjoyed the hot tub again on Saturday, enjoying the views of the mountains and the sunset. The hot breakfast provided on Sunday morning was another delightful treat, and the hosts accommodated our dietary restrictions with no fuss. Breakfast was delivered to our doorstep both mornings with a gentle tap on the door to alert us. Our weekend at Fiddler's Roost could not have been better. It is clear that the owners take great pride in what they do, as the cabins are well-kept, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere and privacy provided are top knotch. We've already talked about our next visit to this great little oasis. Thank you, Fiddler's Roost, for an amazing, relaxing, and recharging weekend. Can't wait to stay with you again.…
