I needed a break and a quiet place to get some work done so I spent a night at the Floyd Hotel. The outside of the hotel is unassuming (not fancy) but the lobby is very nice. My room was decorated in a unique and cool way. I had a lamp made of real books stacked with the lamp inserted. The bathroom is beautiful, and the amenities were mostly vegan. The lighting is modern with recessed overhead lighting and lamps on several tables. The tv offers satellite channels and there is a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. Floyd is an artsy town and there were local prints in the hotel as well as a room displaying handmade local items. A breakfast buffet is available in the mornings, but I didn’t partake. It smelled delicious though. I slept great! I got my work done, and I felt refreshed and relaxed when I left. The staff is great too. I plan to go back.

Great rooms and suits. Right in center of a very musical town. Walk to all of the attractions in town of Floyd. Rooms furnished with decorations and furniture made by talented local crafters. Really good full hot breakfast. There is a pet friendly section. Hotel has onsite free parking. Floyd, VA is the county seat. One stoplight in the whole county. Outstanding week long music festival in the summer. 30 miles south of Christianburg.

Extremely comfortable and welcoming. A quiet hotel only ssteps from the Floyd Store. If you are coming to listen to the music, this is the perfect place. Breakfast is extensive which was delightful. Plus the lounge contains over sized comfortable armchairs and stools for putting your feet up. No one minded that i hung out reading for 2 hours past checkout waiting for the Sunday jam to begin.

This is overall a really great hotel, and we will stay there again, I'm sure. Just be aware that the hotel has two sections -- the main hotel with traditional room layout along interior hallways and an L-shaped wing on the back that wraps around a sort of small amphitheater-type stage. That section is laid out more like a motel with rooms opening directly to the outside overlooking the stage. We had a two-night stay, and the first night there were only a few people in the hotel, but we were put out in the outside-opening rooms rather than in the main building. We also were put in an accessible room (without letting us know), although that had not been requested. It was a cold time of year so we thought it strange that we had to go outside to the back wing when there were plenty of rooms available inside the building. The second night (Thanksgiving night) the hotel was more occupied so we don't know if that had something to do with our room placement. We never found out, but just be sure you are specific about the type and location of room you want. They also honor AAA discounts so remember to ask for that, as well, especially if it isn't indicated on your original reservation. The hotel has creatively and artfully decorated rooms related to organizations in Floyd, and hot breakfast is included. The staff was very friendly, service was good, and the location can't be beat. You can walk to all the shops and restaurants in the downtown area. Overall, a very good experience!

This lovely hotel maybe considered a 2 star.. but I my rating it 3+ . The location is perfect to walk over to the Floyd Country Store, have a great Rueben sandwich and apple pie! Stay for the show.. we saw the Floyd Country Radio Show.. a real bargain at $15 each... some shows are as little as $5 each!! We would not have been able to attend if we had not been able to get a room..
