Lovely atmosphere, polite and attentive staff, good food, lovely wine list… though couldn’t be tempted by the exclusive Landlord’s cellar list. Room very comfortable and stylish. My only criticism is that the coffee was awful!
The property has a nice spacious carpark which views over fields. The building has retained the old character and looks the part but with modernisation and the room was clean tidy and with an excellent bathroom. Service was great and breakfast very nice indeed.
The accommodation is separate from the pub with it's own huge residents garden. Great access point for the South Downs way. Staff were attentive and overall quality of both rooms and pub restaurant was excellent
Clean, comfortable accommodation in a lovely setting, rooms are quiet and well away from the nearby road. Friendly helpful staff and good food including excellent packed lunch. Great location for walking and enjoying the countryside.
We booked a very large table this bank holiday weekend and we couldn't have asked for more. We confused the booking and to our horror, arrived an hour late! They had had let our table go and had every right to turn us away but the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. We were made to feel so welcome, even though we hoped for the impossible, tables were reconfigured and we were able to sit inside! These guys genuinely value their customers. The food was fantastic, the prices were fair and the atmosphere was spot on. So if you're looking for a beautiful country pub that serves food all day, and actually tastes as good as it sounds on the menu you won't regret a visit to this hidden gem. Well done 👏
