I booked for one night, but extended for a second night. The staff did not do any housekeeping on the room. They knocked twice and both times I left so they could do it but they did not. Finally, I had to call for them to do it at 3pm and the lady spend 5 minutes doing a very shoddy job. This is not what is expected given the cost for staying at the hotel. This is how the bed was made up….
RIP Westin— Marriott has issued a new Westin room— unfortunately they’re approving renovations to their properties that clearly miss the mark. This property’s “pocket change” style renovation leaves much to the imagination and to a trip to CVS for a bandage. Awful service, product and future at the Westin Tysons.
Staycation for a family of three. I arrived after my family after 12am. Night audit was nice, promptly got me keys. I get to the room and didn’t think too much of why my family wasn’t under the blankets. At 5am I then realize how hot it is. The thermostat said “error”. I called FD who apologizes and said he would send and engineer. No engineer after over an hour . I call FD again. I work in hotels I get staffing shortages. I’m being patient. This agent tells us the engineering had knocked and no one answered. This was false but I wasn’t going to argue. ENG finally comes and says the blower is broken and he will tell FD to move our room. Over an hour after no word I call the desk again. This person may not have had her morning coffee yet but she said she’d bring new keys. The new room looked like it was unfinished or was out of order. No toilet paper on the roll. Tub stopper just laying in the tub unscrewed and difficult to screw in… not sure that’s normal. Hand held shower sprayer was a disaster and could not get it to stop spraying water everywhere so didn’t use it. Random damage and smears on the walls and pink mold in the shower. I warmed up to the waitresses at the buffet our last morning but initially felt rushed to get up and get food as I was trying to figure out how to manage a 1 year old and get the food by myself. You have to hold the food platters open with one hand and service yourself with the other. hard to do while holding the hand of a toddler . No assistance offered and I was chastised when my son put down a mug a bit to hard. I don’t know. As AFOM at another local hotel I was hoping to enjoy being serviced for once but there was no sense of urgency or hospitality and no attempt at service recovery.…
We stayed here for a wedding in early March. The hotel is very nice. Clean and comfortable and easy to get around. The customer service, front desk staff in particular, was fantastic. Jan in particular went out of her way to make sure we felt welcome. In fact, she said, she wanted us to feel like family during our visit. All the front desk staff were great, but you should promote Jan. (No we are not related in any way.:) Whatever you are doing to attract such amazing people to your team, keep it up. We will recommend this hotel.
We knew this Westin was a step above the others when the General Manager welcomed us upon arrival. We often saw him in the lobby ensuring guests had everything they wanted. Delightful staff, immaculate property, good food in restaurant, nice Lounge bar and a Starbucks in the lobby. Pet friendly too. 🐾🐾❤️ And, Oh, those Westin Heavenly Beds and linens! 😇. We’ll be back.
My experience at this hotel was not good. I stayed 10/10/21 for two nights. Canceled my third night and left. Parking is 10.00 per night here. A very average breakfast buffet was 42.00 per couple here. . Breakfast buffet was reminiscent of the free breakfast in most hotels not a chef inspired quality restaurant buffet.. This was not my problem with the hotel but thought worthy of mentioning. Arrival and check in went smoothly. Upon entering my room is where it starts to go wrong. My room was dirty. Candy, chips, beer cap, fingerprints etc.. This room was not cleaned properly. The front desk had no issues in moving us. The newly issued room seemed acceptable and in much better condition. We eventually found more chips tucked away in corners that had been overlooked but we didn’t want to move again. The bathroom light was out. The following morning we looked at our bed and the underneath side of the comforter had a large makeup stain. This comforter was not washed. This was not a permanent stain. That put me over the edge. They couldn’t find a replacement comforter in all of the hotel! Nothing to be found, they did offer me a couple of blankets. The sheets are extremely thin and worn and the pillows are very worn without any bulk left. All the bedding should be washed in my opinion and it would be nice if Marriott spent some money on proper bedding in general. Very cheap feeling and this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel. This hotel is also very loud. Thin walls. The management was nice enough and offered us breakfast coupons but just always looked like a deer in the headlights. Powerless to do anything about the housekeeping. Only one microwave in the hotel and it was full of old food. Disgusting. The phone system was broken so very difficult to contact the front desk for anything. This was not a restful hotel. We checked out a day early. Buyer beware. Many hotels in the area to,choose from. I didn’t see any covid protocols in place. We definitely will never stay here again.…
I have been staying at hotel regularly and I cannot say enough good about the staff. From the manager down this is hands down the best hotel property that I have stayed at. As someone with over 4000 nights at hotels, I know a good thing when I experience it.
I had family business in the Tysons area, and booked two trips in two months, staying at the Tyson's Westin. The facilities are very clean, very safe, and with all of the stuff that you expect like morning Starbucks, a full-service restaurant, workout facilities, and a very comfortable room. The staff are very kind and engaged in supporting guests. Would recommend!
This hotel is my home in usa, I stayed in it for more than 15 nights, the reception staff are amazing, Quiet, clean and great location, I have stayed in many prestigious and expensive hotels in usa, from North to South and from East to West, I did not feel comfortable except in this hotel. I thank all the staff, especially Mr. Rehan Gill, and Sura Alrubaya. Love you all.🌷😘🙏 Mohammed alzain Royal saudi Air Force
It’s okay but services are slow. Suites under reservation so no upgrade with gold status. Asked for a quiet room which I was told they would give but was placed in a room on 8th floor across from barking dog. I didn’t even enter the room and asked for a different room. Instead they put me in a room on 4th floor with connecting door even though I had asked for no connecting door. Bottom line- they won’t honor your requests even if you have status. Asked for some towels- they took one hour to come. The mobile key didn’t work. The good- is that the bed and shower were good.
