Detailed Reviews
There are so many great things about this bed and breakfast. Julie and Charlie are so hospitable, welcoming, and friendly. My wife and I enjoyed getting to know them and highly enjoyed their gourmet breakfasts. There is so much good food and a lot of it is from their gardens and local businesses. We stayed in the Cornwall suite, which was quite spacious and the air conditioning can easily handle a hot Virginian summer day. There was even a nice welcome package including treats for our dog Woodrow. The B&B sits on a farm (bonus: with views of mountains), so there is plenty of space to walk around including along their cornfield. The location is also great as it's only a short drive away from Lexington, the Blue Ridge Mountains, Staunton, and Shenandoah National Park. Lastly, they are taking the proper precautions with the pandemic, so look no further for your vacation to get away.

My Wife and I were driving back to PA from our vacation in NC and the day before leaving decided we wanted to split up our drive and relax in a peaceful setting. We came across the Fox Hill B & B which showed no vacancies, but rolling the dice, I chose to call anyway. The owner, Charlie, along with his Wife Julie, answered the phone and in inquiring if there would be any chance getting a room despite showing being booked full, Charlie politely shared that Julie had blocked out that evening for a day of rest after the July 4th weekend. I told him I understood, but Charlie was so nice and said he’d be willing to check with Julie to accommodate us, which she did and how glad we were to be given the opportunity!
Fox Hill is conveniently located a short distance off Route 81 and a gem located on approximately 26 acres with beautiful views of both cornfields and the surrounding mountains. There are walking paths and a meandering stream on the property and the B & B is extremely quaint. Sip coffee or your favorite libation on the screened-in front porch with rocking chairs or the back deck with shade tree. The common area and rooms are very well appointed with antiques providing a most comfortable feel and the King Suite we stayed in was spacious and offered both a coffee maker and refrigerator.
When it came to breakfast, Charlie and Julie outdid themselves. Upon our arrival, Charlie provided us several options for our breakfast the next morning. While coffee is available in the rooms, you’ll want to savor the French-pressed coffee that Julie prepares. A table was set for us on the back deck and breakfast began with juice, a bowl of fresh fruit and homemade, freshly baked banana muffins! The second course featured Eggs Benedict, our choice of bacon or sausage and home fries. It was truly scrumptious!
Not enough can be said about the hospitality provided and we very highly recommend the Fox Hill B & B to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing retreat.

I don't typically write reviews but we just loved Fox Hill so much I had to share! The new Inn owners Julie and Charlie were so lovely and welcoming right from the start! They made the Cowboy Suite welcoming for us and our dog, including little "gifts" from their dog Obie! The kitchen suite was perfectly stocked with everything we needed and sparkling clean. Charlie's breakfasts were TO DIE FOR amazing, with fresh ingredients grown right on the property and from other local farms. Julie was lovely and so helpful with guiding us to fun activities like local hikes, vineyards, and breweries, all of which had gorgeous views! We cannot wait to come back again!
PS- while dogs are not able to come into the indoor dining area, you are able to dine with them on the back porch! It was lovely sitting outside each morning with our pup.

We will be extolling the awesomeness of this B&B. The pictures on the website can’t seem to do this marvelous place justice. The serenity of sitting on the screened in porch with the valley and mountain view’s; the sounds of birds.
This is a special place to get away from it all.
You two possess a perfect combination of talents to make this a particularly special experience: Fastidiousness to cleanliness; an eye for comforting decor, warm hospitality, easy fun personalities, knowledge of nature and history; and of course, delicious breakfast and coffee,
Thank you proprietors Julie & Charlie for making our weekend getaway special!

Wow! My husband and I just got back from a perfect experience at Fox Hill B&B. The innkeepers, Charlie and Julie, so clearly love their jobs. They are both talented chefs. A reservation is worth it for the breakfast alone! Muffins hot from the oven, fresh cut fruit, an always tasty entrée (waffles, French toast, omelet, Benedict, etc.), coffee, juice. It was a wonderful time of R&R. We enjoyed the Natural Bridge, local wineries and breweries, a carriage ride in Lexington, theatre in Staunton and a beautiful property and room to return to each evening. Do yourself a favor, and make a reservation! You won’t regret it! - Matt and Bianca C.

Fox Hill is the perfect getaway. Gorgeous meadows to wander & walk Fido, breathtaking blue ridge vista views, & star gazing heaven! Private entry to our spotless kitchenette with a spacious balcony was unique. Julie & Charlie make perfect hosts-down to earth folk who we hope will enjoy the fruits of their property. Charlie I might add is a 5 star chef. Lots of cool outings nearby including Lexington, Crabtree Falls, Natural Bridge & vineyards.A must make the time road trip experience!

Stayed here for three nights in late October 2020. Excellent Room (Mountain View Suite), Great Breakfast, Friendly Owners/Inn Keepers. Perfect stay, plan to come back. And the nearby towns (Lexington and Staunton) and sights (Natural Bridge, Blue Ridge Parkway, Shenandoah Valley ) combine with the Fox Hill B&B's great accommodation and location to make a really nice and relaxing get-away from the Northern Virginia "bubble" less than three hours away.

This review is almost 5 months overdue. And I apologize to Charlie and Julie for this delay. This was my very 1st B&B and I'm 40. the girlfriend and I were backing/hiking across the Appalachia mountains and we wanted to stay at a nice B&B one night. We found Fox Hill on google and called while we were 2 hours away. Julie said 'sure' and said that she might be taking care of the horses when we pull up but she promises, someone is here!
The property is out of a movie it is so gorgeous. And Julie and Charlie work it by themselves. We sat on the porch during a warn April day and looked at the mountains and animals while drinking some local wine (provided by the host at a VERY reasonable price!).
I could write a ton here but seriously, these are down to earth folks with huge hearts and I am beyond jealous of their property and lifestyle. Rooms are so cute and well kept!
Charlie cooks like a Michelin 3 star chef. Hands down his breakfast is worth the entire cost of a room. He told us, over breakfast that it was Julie's Birthday today and so all 3 of us sang happy birthday to Julie! I cannot say enough good things about this plac. a++++
I wanted to let you two know....that Nicole said YES to getting engaged to me and so the wedding is late 2022 - we are trying to find a way to get the family to stay up at your place! hahaha

My husband and I were stopping through on a road trip from Texas to PA and wanted to stop for a night off the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was a but last minute, but the new owners Charlie and Julie were so gracious I'd accommodating us despite their 2-night minimum weekend policy. They were so thoughtful with every detail - from providing wipes, doggie bags, water bowl, and treats for our pup - to chocolates, an amazing breakfast, wonderful recommendations, and friendly conversation. We could tell they were incredibly invested in the property and in making sure our stay was comfortable. The property itself is beautifully nested within the mountains, easily accessible, and very well taken care of. We would recommend this to anyone, and can't wait to come back for a longer stay!

My husband and I stayed one night recently and had a wonderful experience. The inn is set on several beautifully manicured acres, several structures inc. a beautiful barn, flower and vegetable gardens. Immaculate room, many amenities inc. a basket of goodies and towels for our dog. The inn keepers are friendly and the breakfast was superior, with several courses and French-pressed coffee. We were very comfortable with Covid protocol they provided, as well. The sunrise and sunset amidst the mountains and hills were serene. We will always make Fox Hill our abode whenever we’re in the area. (great hiking nearby)
