You can tell the interior was recently renovated. Rooms were spacious and and in excellent shape. Pool still under renovation but that’s perfectly ok given the great room rate we got in early November for a weekend. Right off the highway, free and plentiful parking.

Located on the outskirts of DC in a rural part of Fairfax County this place is gigantic - the building complex is immense and gives off a grand feel both outside and inside with its beautiful environment and designs. The bar is pleasant and open late. The rooms are large and comfy. And, perhaps most distinctly, the prices are incredible! Whether because of the sheer amount of hotels around DC or this one’s outskirts status this place is shockingly affordable for its location and even more so for the quality of its offerings. If you’re willing to do a bit of a drive to wherever you’re going in Northern Virginia or DC this place is well worth it.

I stayed here while attending a conference. The rooms are very comfortable with a sitting area, a bed, A refrigerator, coffee and a nice television set that you can watch from bed or the sitting area. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

There is a nice lobby with a bar, a nice breakfast in the morning and it was nice to have the whole conference contained in one space.

The other thing I like about this location is it’s a very short distance to a little shopping area that has a large Whole Foods, and a few other shops around.

It feels like a nice and safe area to walk also.

I would say this is about a half hour to 40 minutes away from the airport, and there is ample parking.

This is the second time I have stayed here and I would stay here again.

I traveled to the VA area to help a sick family member. The hotel is conveniently located to a number of highways and side roads. The room was spacious and for most of the 17 days of my stay. Unfortunately, due to the Covid pandemic, there were certain parameters required including masks, taking out your own trash, room cleaning ‘on request,’ limited menu for dining, no room service, pick up of additional towels, etc. The bedding was comfortable, good mattress, bathroom was roomie, but if you are a more mature visitor, I’d suggest a room with a walk-in shower. As for the $8.00 a day parking fee, that is a complete farce. Every morning as I went to my car, I had to walk over and around bottles, whole and broken, trash, and empty food containers. Every evening I returned to the hotel to find people partying out of their cars and trucks, loud music, drinking. In my estimation, the $8.00 parking fee to provide parking lot security is ridiculous. The other issue I had was with people coming into the hotel thru the parking lot entrance without masks, entering the elevators without masks, and becoming defensive when I very nicely pointed to my mask or asked them to put on a mask. Other than those two negative issues, I’d stay here again. All of the front desk representatives were professional, helpful and well turned out. I’d like to recognize Mr. Rahul Kumar who was extremely helpful to me when I had to extend my stay beyond the original date.

Dear Guest, Thank you for choosing to stay at the Hyatt Fairfax during your recent visit and for reviewing us. At The Hyatt Fairfax, we have always prioritized the health and safety of our guests and colleagues and we understand that it is imperative for us to take extraordinary measures at a time like this. I acknowledge your feedback and offer to you my sincere apologies for not being able to deliver the perfection that you have grown to expect out of Hyatt. It is indeed very important for us to have each guest leave happy and it pains us immensely that you were disappointed with our public areas. For the parking fee, we are very competitive with other properties in the area and this fee can be waived if you are a Hyatt Member and there is no cost to sign up. Thank you for considering to stay here again and I look forward to be in your servitude. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly at the property.

Inside the room, everything was fine. Once you exit the room, everywhere you turn it sadly just looks like the hotel management does not care about the hotel. It starts with one elevator shaft having a posting on the door from 7/26/22 stating the county inspector condemned the elevator unsafe to use. Then you realize the pool has been closed for all of 2022 based on online reviews, but the front desk claims it's just being renovated. You can see from the gym area that the pool appears like it's simply used for hotel storage now. The gym itself only has two working treadmills out of four, and the free weight rack is missing 80% of its weights. They do include water bottles and small towels, however. The front desk will also inform you that you only receive housekeeping if you request it before noon each day. I don't understand the reasoning for this outside of maximizing profits, as we are long past it being acceptable to blame covid. On a positive note, the maid staff was always very nice and did a great job cleaning my room. Also, I slept great in the room I was in, and it was quiet. In summary, if this was a lower end hotel chain, I'd probably not have cared enough to write a review, but this is a Hilton. There is a standard expectation, and this hotel did not meet that at all.

Very nice hotel. I would stay again but had a couple small issues. The cleaning staff didn't take our trash (we had room service so it wasn't just in the small cans) or supply more towels when they removed the used ones. We also had to call twice to fix the toilet. It didn't ruin our stay or anything like that.

Before I get to the bad, I'll start with the good. I usually stay at another chain and their mobile key never works. The mobile key and check-in, check-out process were a breeze. Not one glitch. Other than the housekeeper knocking on my door at 8am though I had a privacy hang tag displayed on it, it was a completely contactless visit which is the kind I like. The grounds of the hotel are nice and I was surprised how quiet it was considering the interstate runs behind it. I paid the upgrade for a room with panoramic windows because I like a lot of light and was welcomed by a pretty view of the trees. Everything in the room appeared to be in working order. The pool is closed for the next few months but I knew that when I booked so I had no issue with that. Now for the bad. I'm a stickler for cleanliness and this hotel fell very short in that regard. Coming down the hallway to the room, it didn't look like the hall had been vacuumed in some time and there were stains on the carpet including at least one stain that was bigger than a basketball so housekeeping had to have seen it. It wasn't fresh and had clearly been there for awhile. The hotel room was in need of a very good dusting. There was so much dust on the bedside lamp that I swiped my finger on it and there was a clear, thick path through the dust. There were crumbs and some sort of dried liquid on the bedside table, so that was pretty gross. The TV was huge which was impressive but the remote looked very similar to one I had about 15-20 years ago and did not have modern features. The pillows were surprisingly comfortable, surprisingly because the mattresses were awful. I had a room with two beds and both mattresses were equally bad. I actually would have left after all these observations but the sheets were clean and I was only going to be there about 18 hours so I stayed. However, I didn't get to enjoy a nice hot shower in the morning because the water never got hot. This hotel was probably amazing at some point but it is in desperate need of TLC, and management oversight and housekeeping with an attention to detail. I won't stay here again in its current state but would in the future if things improved.

We really enjoyed our weekend at Hyatt Regency Fairfax. The hotel, our room, everything was very clean. The bed was comfortable. We liked that the TV was in the middle of the room and that we could turn it to watch it in the living area or the bedroom. The shower had great water pressure. We were on the 10th floor with a nice view of the city. The hotel is in a great location, with a short and easy drive to the mall or to restaurants and other shopping centers. The front desk staff was nice and helpful.

The motel is in a great location close to shopping and eating establishments. It is easy access but the signage needs work so that you will not miss the entrance coming from either direction. Check was smooth. This location is a former Hyatt Regency now owned by Hilton and some issues exist with the transition - rooms, dining etc.

I stayed here I believe 2 or 3 years ago and it was fine but this stay was a disaster. No real recognition for being a Globalist, Had to ask for bottled water each day, Had to request several times that my room be cleaned while I was out at meetings. My last night when I came back to my room at 8pm it was never cleaned up. For sure there hotel was not full at all. Seems the only Hyatt person who was on the ball was the manager of the food area, Dustin. He was always smiling, happy positive attitude. Served coffee and breakfast efficiently. The rest of the staff were all on another frequency, not guest orientated. Seems to be a big different how Domestic Hyatts treat Globalists and how international Hyatts treat guests. Like day and night for example the Hyatt Regency in Bangkok. Super staff, happy, smiling, complimentary suite upgrades without even asking, superior food excellent over all service by Hyatt staff. I travel mostly international and it appears there are two Hyatt standards for guests. One for domestic USA and one for International. Hard for me to believe Hyatt rated the Fair Lakes hotel a Regency, might be just a regular Hyatt. Also no evening drinks or snacks for Globalist at this hotel. Even the Hyatt Pace in Bangkok provides Globalists with complimentary drinks and snacks. Recommend people stay there money and stay at other brand hotels.

When I stayed there last summer the Hilton was a little worn but still clean. It was a Sunday night and things were quiet. The bathroom was well maintained and the staff tried their best to assist us. It was probably at least $160 so I don't know if that fits into your definition of cheap, but given the size of the room and proximity to lots of food and shopping (not to mention downtown DC) I would recommend it.
