My mom found this B&B for us during a recent trip to Schuyler (about 15 minutes away). It's owned by two lovely people, Kathy and Martin, who live in the main house. Guests stay in the red building in the picture above. It's a comfortable space with 10 guest rooms. Bathrooms are shared, ladies on one side, mens on the...

You're so nice for taking the time to leave a review! We're thrilled you enjoyed your stay and we hope you come back---just wish we knew you had to depart early on Sunday, too. Certainly would have put another plate of goodies out to have with your coffee! Besides the Walton Mountain Museum events (I heard it was fun!), there...

What a find! On a winding, country road just before you get to the town of Nellysford, VA is the Acorn Inn. It's not fancy. The breakfast contains memorable homemade breads that Kathy bakes daily. This is an ideal place for a family reunion, a group gathering--like cyclists, hikers, etc. The converted barn with individual bedrooms is clean, bright and...

We're so happy you had a nice stay! Many thanks for your kind report. We don't really "do" social media (i know I know!) ---since asking for a review feels like asking for a tip---BUT We LOVE and appreciate tremendously when our guests take a moment to assist us this way. We look forward to seeing you again! Kathy and...

Nestled in the NappaValley of the east, close to DC, Philadelphia, Baltimore and you are surrounded by nature, distilleries, breweries, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is close....this is the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Used to be a hidden gem, but the word is getting out Great place to anchor your adventures, the host + hostess are friendly and share wonderful stories...

My husband and I were picking up our daughter and her boyfriend off the Appalachian Trail and needed a place to take them for a quiet "zero" day. We really lucked out when we picked this place! The host and hostess were so gracious and understanding of our situation (seems the host had hiked the trail himself back in the...

My husband and I have been looking for property, in Nelson County, VA, for nearly two years. We love the laid-back mountain mentality and the beauty of the area. We do not live in the area, so we needed a cost-effective solution to our frequent trips "up the mountain." Our real estate agent suggested the Acorn Inn Bed & Breakfast....

I won't restate what other reviewers have said. This is a perfect base camp for a cycling, hiking, or skiing week or weekend. I've stayed here during spring break in March for cycling "spring training" for the past few years. The inn is affordable, clean, and comfortable. I love the cornbread muffins at breakfast. There are plenty of hilly cycling...

We recently stayed one night at the Acorn Inn and found it an enjoyable experience. The hosts are are friendly and informative. We wanted to spend the afternoon relaxing and they directed us to the perfect little park to spend some time by the river. Just what we needed! The rooms are small, but comfortable. The shared bathrooms caused a...

We felt welcome right from the start at Acorn Inn. What a wonderful couple and perfect hosts, Martin and Kathy are! Their enthousiasm and warmth makes Acron Inn such a good place to stay. Kathy is a talented artist and the Inn is decorated with her art. Martin is Dutch and he loves to ride his bike. We enjoyed his...

I adore the Acorn Inn! The rooms are clean, comfortable and cozy. Breakfast features yummy homemade breads and muffins as well as fruit. What really stands out, however, is the owners and how they treat their guests. They are welcoming, informative, interesting and amazingly helpful. I am a bike rider and asked for help in finding a route during my...

Based upon a positive review in a VA guidebook, I made a phone call from a rest stop in WV to check on availability. Yes, room available for that evening, price was right, only one other couple (adult son w/ mother). On the phone, the innkeeper (Kathy) shares a bit about the inn and its history ~~ nothing fancy; it...
