We have been going to Chesley Creek for 11 years. It offers us the chance to just breath and have a well deserved respite. The calm and beauty of the mountain is beyond words. We've stayed in the Creek House, Ridge, and Pine throughout the years. The cabins are spotless, updated, cozy and welcoming. We enjoy sitting in the rocking chairs on the deck and just taking in the quiet. The kitchens are well equipped, the gas fireplace is a great ambiance, the beds are so comfy, and the jacuzzi's are such a nice place to relax after a day of exploring. The owners Chuck and Stu are awesome hosts. We arrive with a hand written note welcoming us back every time. They are accommodating, and just all around wonderful to deal with. We cannot wait until our next trip to the mountain.

I found the Cottages at Chelsey Creek when they only had two cabins (they now have 5) and have been visiting over the years. This is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Being off the grid cannot be overstated - it is great to be able to reconnect with nature and just be. There is no stress of checking emails, text messages, etc. I've stayed in 3 out of the 5 cabins (Creek House, Laurel Wood, and the Pines) and each is wonderful. The cabins are fully furnished and close to shopping to pick up either on the way in or once you get settled (Trader Joes is about 20 mins away). There are also a lot of restaurants and wineries near by. The fire pit and rocking chairs on the deck are a nice bonus - just remember to bring fire starters. Chuck and Stew are wonderful owners who respond quickly and go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. I am looking forward to my next visit.

We stayed in the Ridge cabin at Chesley Creek Farm and it was the perfect weekend getaway...just what we needed. It's quiet, impeccably clean, and has everything you might need...just bring the food. We were delighted to be met by John Henry (the owner's friendly dog) and guided on a hike through an extensive trail system...he waited for us to catch up at every intersection in the trail and guided us well. It was awesome...he knows what he's doing. We enjoyed a couple of evenings by the fire outside and appreciated the folding chairs, as we had forgotten our own. On our one rainy day, it was a pleasure to sit on the covered porch and rock in the rocking chairs with a good book. Overall, really couldn't ask for a better place to decompress and enjoy some peace and quiet. The access road was in good condition and our Mazda handled it just fine. We'll certainly be back to this wonderful place in the woods.

We stayed at the Creek Cabin. Arrived to an immaculate, clean cabin with a hand written note and fresh flowers. The cabin had everything that you need, a kitchen with all utensils, a fireplace in the living room, a sunken Jacuzzi in the bathroom with all toiletries and a queen size bed and plenty of storage, nice lighting and great room darkening shades. There is a deck back off the kitchen with rocking chairs and small table and chairs. A hammock next to the house and fire pit down below. Walk down a small incline to the creek with a nice swing and another fire pit. Yes close to perfect: no Wi-Fi, no internet, no TV and no cell phone coverage. A perfect getaway where you can be safe away from other people, enjoy the person you love and away from electronics. But this is a huge problem no one mentions in the reviews. The road to the cabin is beyond horrible, treacherous, dangerous, unsafe and sometimes impassable. Let me tell you why and see the pictures. You come off the paved road to Brokeback Mountain Rd a gravel road: initially the road is hard pack, but wait (especially when it rains) the gravel is push off to the side exposing deep ruts more than 6 inches deep, deep side road drop off, stones and rocks in the road, and deep fistulas that you have to maneuver around and through. You first pass the Pines cabin (which is the safest road up a 90 degree hill). Then you pass another road that enters into the owner’s residence and the log house cabin. There are 3 properties beyond that which require you to take the gravel road up that is unsafe and I would not suggest this property if you have back/neck issues, pregnant or handicap. I really cannot imagine how an ambulance could get to the back three cabins (Creek Cabin being one of them). You must have a SUV or 4 wheel drive not a little Honda Accord. The owners are very nice and they report “we have had a lot of rain and this is a county road”. It irritates me that everyone seem to pass the buck. You have 5 cabins off a gravel road, you are responsible to assure the safety of your guest and their property. In the medical field we don’t say “sorry about giving you the wrong medicine it is the doctor, nurse, pharmacist fault. Get a bucket of gravel and fill up the holes. Simple or better yet, invest in paving this treacherous road. Just a though. Nice cabins and good luck with the road

Very happy that you enjoyed the cabin. Very sorry that you had the experience with our road; it was not normal. Before you arrived, and even after you arrived, we had about 7 inches of rain, and, as we are in the mountains, the roads washed very badly. We are remiss in that we did not take more action to remedy, but we thought the State Highway folks would come in the next day and repair the road, which they normally do; However, after a day or so, and they had not shown up, we should have done something to alleviate the problem and did not. ( The State workers did show up and do the repairs the day you left - sorry!) Again, we apologize to you folks for having to endure the washed out road. Just please bear in mind, it is not normally like that and is fairly well maintained by the Virginia Dept of Transportation.

Was looking for a place to get away from the stress of COVID and news in our country. We found the best relief at The Pines in Chelsea Creek Farm Cottages. The house was totally equipped and clean with an opportunity to get away and enjoy an environment that is WiFi , cell and tv free. Loved our time there and can wait to come back. There is nothing better than a rain storm on the covered back porch.

Who would think there would be such beautiful cabins in the middle of the woods on a remote mountain road? It was a wonderful surprise to walk in the door and be awestruck. Such a perfect escape from the reality of COVID-19. All of our anxiety and worry melted away the moment we settled in. Nothing beats having morning coffee on the wrap-around deck or watching a storm blow in from the distant mountain. The cabin was spotless and provided everything we needed. Although it was a hot week, the AC kept it cool and comfortable in the cabin. The welcome rain cooled things off in the evening. We didn't even miss having a television and that's probably why we felt so removed from everything going on in the outside world. Laurelwood Cabin had a separate dining area off the kitchen, with views of the trees from every window in the living room. The bedroom was a very nice size with two comfortable chairs for reading or relaxing. The bathroom was large and airy, with windows surrounding the sunken tub. We loved this cabin because of the size and layout. It was very tastefully decorated with a soft-cushioned sofa and chairs with plenty of lighting for reading. This is truly mountain living in high style! We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating our 46th anniversary in this luxurious cabin.

After 3 trips there in 2019 each one longer than the one before you can obviously see that we fell in love with this place. The cabins are meticulously cared for and absolutely beautiful. It definitely is well off the beaten path but close to many things such as numerous wineries. hiking trails and historic mansions to name a few. If you just want to get away from everything and relax this is the place. There are not enough adjectives to truly describe what you will experience. The hosts are extremely friendly and wonderful to talk with. Not to forget their dog, John Henry, that was a regular visitor and a wonderful hiking companion along the many hiking trails. Basically you will fall in love with this place as we have and want to return again and again.

We spent our 7th visit to Chesley Creek Farm in the Log House. We were so impressed by the layout and the close proximity to the pool. We enjoyed eating outside on the balcony and inside at the dining room table. Playing with the owner’s Border Collie (John Henry) is always a treat. If you go to the pool, they supply towels and there are 2 umbrellas. If you want to enjoy nature in a beautiful quiet setting, this is a place you’ll find it.

Before I start rambling, my boyfriend and I a week later are STILL raving about how good of a time we had here and how excited we are to go back. We stayed for one week at the creek house. From beginning to end the most amazing experience I’ve ever had. When we first arrived we took a wrong turn and ended up in the driveway of where Chuck and Stu would be. We were greeted by Stu and John Henry (the dog) and then invited inside to eat watermelon and meet some friends they had over. Since I’m not used to such hospitality on the day to day I was a little uncomfortable at first but it took me 5 minutes to realize how truly beautiful these people were! They made us feel at home. Chuck made us aware we were lucky enough to be the only 2 on the whole camp ground for 3 days before others would start to come in to fill in all of the other cabins on the camp round. Even when people did come in, we still didn’t see anyone and it still was super private. It was nice knowing we were completely alone for those 3 days to explore (and we did just that). I am not much of a TV watcher but knowing there was no tv beforehand was kind of upsetting at first so I downloaded some Netflix episodes. We both watched maybe a quarter of ONE episode with dinner one night. We read books and sifted through the many books on the bookcase, we listened to music (really enjoyed the whole solitudes collection), we cooked our own food every night, we hung out at the pool, made a fire near the creek, got into the creek, SLEPT. One night out of the week we went to downtown mall as our activity out in the town. We had lunch at an amazing burger place and found a bar with a pool table where we both attempted to play pool. John Henry (their dog) was one of the biggest highlights of our trip. We always speak about wanting a dog then we met John Henry and now we REALLY want a dog. He is honestly the sweetest. We hung out on our deck with him, cooked him bacon (his favorite), we went on a trail and got lost with him for an hour, and played his favorite game of all time: fetch. 😊 he visited us on our last day and looked just as sad as we did to see us leave. For those who will skip through my rambling to the end, IT WAS AN AMAZING GET AWAY AND IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT GOING, go! I almost guarantee you won’t regret it. Thank you Chuck and Stu for being such great hosts. We will definitely be giving you a call when we are ready for another trip.

My husband and I stayed at the Laurel wood Cottage, it was amazing! Everything you could need other than your food is provided! The selection of music is awesome! If you are looking for a private, relaxing, peaceful place to reconnect or just unwind this is the place for you! I would say this is a hidden gem! We will recommend this spot to everyone we know! Look forward to going back!! There are wineries near by (we hit them once we departed, when you get there and get settled you won't wanna leave) A big thank you to Chuck for thinking of everything!!!
