The Plaza is a beautiful and relaxing destination located in the Northern Neck of Virginia in the charming town of Colonial Beach. This 1900’s Victorian Bed & Breakfast offers a homey atmosphere reminiscent of days gone by. The Plaza’s hallmarks are elegant comfort, warm hospitality and delicious food. The lovely guest rooms are furnished with stunning yet comfortable antiques. The other four guest rooms nestled throughout the main house reflect the charm of the Victorian Era and include such amenities as a mantled fireplace. Our stay was made great by our hosts, Misunn and David. Misunn went out of her way to make us comfortable and meet our needs. The breakfasts each day were made from ingredients from locals farms and were delicious, creative, fresh, and elegantly presented. We loved the 24-hour coffee (Keurig) which made it easy to grab a cup whenever we wanted, with a great selection of coffee varieties. Afternoon hors-d'oeuvres were delicious, too. The entire place was sparkling clean and lovingly tended to. It was clear the owners took great pride in creating a welcoming, healthy, and nourishing environment. Misunn was very aware of the health and safety of guests at all times, which we greatly appreciated. Our room was beautiful and spacious. We also enjoyed the game room! We'll be back!

My husband and I stayed at the Colonial Beach Plaza Bed and Breakfast and it proved to be just the break we needed!

The Inn is centrally located just steps from the water and the town pier. The inside of the Inn is a nostalgic delight with vintage magazines, local history books and other thoughtfully collected pieces. If you like nostalgia, this is the place to stay!

We stayed in the Lulubelle room which had a lovely sitting area and a very comfortable mattress! Each room is spotlessly clean and curated with care by the hosts Misunn and David!

Happy hour drinks on the patio by the pool was just what we needed, and Misunn's gourmet breakfast with farm to table veggies kept us full and happy all morning!

Misunn truly enjoys connecting with her guests, and making them feel at home and pampered! We will definitely return and highly recommend a stay at the Colonial Beach Plaza Bed and Breakfast!

My husband and I along with 2 other couples booked 3 rooms at the Colonial Beach Plaza Bed & Breakfast and stayed there in August. It was wonderful! Our rooms were beautiful! Breakfast was Fantastic and our whole experience there was wonderful. There is an inground pool and other amenities in the back yard and during the evenings we enjoyed meeting all of the other guests in the pool. The beach is a short walk away along with restaurants. The owners couldn't have been any more friendly and inviting. We really enjoyed our visit. We are looking forward to going back there next week for a few nights with 3 other couples. It is such a wonderful getaway. I would highly recommend it.

I had booked the James Monroe Presidential Suite for three nights in the beginning of August. I told Misunn that there would be two people staying in that suite. Upon arrival I stated that the other guest would be arriving around 5:30 pm. Misunn stated that that would be an extra $50 to use the pull out sofa in that room. I said, "I am sorry but you did not tell me anything about that when I booked the room". I told her that was the reason I booked the room so that we could each have our own bed. Luckily I had thrown a set of sheets in my car and said I had my own sheets. She stated that she would not charge me since she did not have to do extra laundry.

First of all, if that is your policy, tell me that when I book. Second, the tone of voice she used made me feel so unwelcome. I thought the whole concept behind staying in a B & B was hospitality and a welcoming environment?

The weekend just got more tense from there. My other friend who booked her room for one night was told she had to leave the property immediately after check out. Misunn stated that she was "not making any more money" off of her and she could not sit outside with us before she left. Again, the tone was militant.

Such a disappointment for what should have been a fun and relaxing girls weekend!

I booked the beach cottage which is a small cottage located at the back of the main B and B. There were three women in our party. We are 68 to 70 years old. Another in our party booked a room at the main B and B. I did not receive any instructions on how to check in to the cottage (owned by the B and B owners). When I arrived I assumed I was to check in at the B and B. I was following the member of my party who had reserved a B and B room but was blocked from entering by the owner. In front of other guests she told me I was not allowed to enter the main B and B and should follow the instructions she had emailed me on how to check in to the cottage. I told her I did not receive the email but she was adamant that she had sent it. I was so shocked and humiliated to be treated like a trespasser. I later discovered she had made a mistake typing my email and she knew I had not received my instructions. Even if this had not happened I would not return. The cottage was a bit shabby and not the cleanest. We were instructed to strip our beds and to put the sheets in the laundry area upon leaving. I was shocked to see all the stains on the mattress cover and on the pillows. The toilet seat on the downstairs toilet was so loose we were in danger of slipping off. We did ask for this to be fixed and the owners husband promptly remedied the situation. There were lamps with no light bulbs and a ring around the toilet. The cottage costs $269.00 a night so it was not inexpensive. I have traveled extensively and never been treated so poorly. If I had received the email I never would have gone to the main B and B.

We Love this wonderful Gem in Colonial Beach! From the minute we arrive until breakfast on the day we depart, Misunn and Dave make our stay fantastic! We feel so relaxed and happy while there. You will enjoy their convenient location just steps from the beach along with the perfect pool in their back yard plus the cabana is great during a rainy evening or to enjoy a morning or evening beverage in. Breakfast is delicious and sure to please. We can’t wait to go back in the near future!!❤️

Colonial Beach is such a sweet little town. Feels very safe. Everyone is very friendly. We were so looking forward to our stay at the Colonial Beach Plaza Bed & Breakfast. Upon arrival the owner Misunn seemed hurried and didn't really have time to give. My husband was waiting in the car for me to check in but she wanted him to come inside so she didn't have to repeat what she was telling me about the Inn. After that it just seemed to go downhill. The place smells like cats and it dirty and dusty. You get breakfast which is a salad with eggs. A bit weird. One glass of wine when you arrive. There is not a snack or bottle of water to be found, and you do not get your room cleaned. This is so different from all the other B&B's I have stayed at. I felt very uncomfortable there and was not at ease. She never once asked us if we needed anything or how was our stay. At breakfast she seemed like she couldn't wait for us to leave. Thank goodness the town is so cool and they were having a art and music festival. We were gone most of our weekend, and the other guests were fantastic!!!

An impromptu getaway over Easter weekend was made very special by the comfort and warm hospitality of B&B hosts Missun and Dave. When I arrived Missun greeted me warmly, showed me to my room and offered me a welcome glass of wine. She also shared with me recommendations for several local restaurants as well as nearby attractions. Their inn is located on a quiet street within a block from the scenic sandy beach along the Potomac River. What a quaint and friendly town! Many restaurants and attractions are within a short walking distance. My quiet room on the first floor was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. I had access to the kitchen including unlimited coffee, tea, water and the refrigerator if needed. The 80s themed game room with pinball and video games is a highlight. I also enjoyed two delicious breakfasts. I look forward to returning during warmer weather to enjoy the outdoor pool and grounds. I highly recommend The Colonial Beach Plaza B&B!

This B and B is just lovely. Misunn and David, the innkeepers are warm, friendly, very attentive, and knowledgeable about the area. A great quiet place to visit! The Inn is very nostalgic and you’re greeted immediately by Misunn and welcomed. Breakfasts were AMAZING and there was a shared refrigerator to keep things cold we had brought. Loved the coffee maker for late night coffee and a snack.
Cannot wait to return!

We had such a nice and relaxing stay! Missun and David were gracious hosts and the entire stay could not have been more enjoyable. The house has so many fun details; the decor in the rooms and walls and bookcases to fun 80s vinyl records and arcade games to enjoy, quiet room, soft sheets, a personally prepared fresh breakfast each morning and fresh coffee, delightful pool and cabana to just relax in and steps from the beach, nice chats with hosts and guests but also room for privacy and a felling of seclusion too. Oh, and bikes to ride around and explore. There’s more for sure. A sweet oasis for our midweek getaway! Sort of felt like being on a very chill island the whole time with a nice vibe all throughout. Double thumbs up!! We’d return next time the opportunity arises.
