The rooms are clean and well appointed The staff is friendly and make sure you're comfortable and have everything you need There is snacks an coffee in the kitchen. The price is very reasonable Overall a great place to stay
The Red Lantern is a great place to stay! My husband and I stayed in Room 1 (king bed and private full bath). Super comfortable Bed and very clean. This place has lots of charm and character that depicts Clifton Forge. It's walking distance to the small downtown, Masonic Theater and School of the Art's. It's also a great launching pad to outdoor adventures! There's plenty of room to spread out around the Inn and relax in the living rooms. Also the kitchen is well stocked with snacks and candy 😀. JoAnn is a great host and we will be back! Highly recommended!
This was an unexpected amazing experience. The owner picked me up at the train station and went out of her way to be sure I had everything I needed for my two day stay. I had a lovely room (Number 1) with private bath. The room was well appointed with all amenities you could ever need, comfortable chair, fine linens, free Wi-Fi, tv, hand sanitizer, soaps and everything was high-end. The bed was very comfortable. The Inn was super clean everywhere. The kitchen was supplied with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, bagels, cereal, juice, fruit and much more. The price seemed low to me, it was a great value and worth much more to me. The owner was wonderful and I am sure I will be staying there again.
The Red Lantern Inn is a hidden gem in the town of Clifton Forge, Viginia. The inn is absolutely AMAZING! The minute you enter the inn you feel the hospitality. Beautifully decorated with items that represent the Alleghany Highlands and the history of Clifton Forge. Immaculately clean and well stocked with everything one could possibly need. The bed in room 1 was so comfy and cozy it was hard to leave!!! The staff are offsite but they remained in constant contact through text messages and totally easy to work with. Price was below hotel prices in the area and personally felt that we got the very best for our money!! Will definitely stay again and again!!
Recently a fishing buddy and I stayed overnight at The Red Lantern Inn’s Cottage which is located near the main inn. This 2-bedroom cottage was everything that we could want for a great night’s sleep before rising very early to meet our fishing guide on the James River. There are lots of other outdoor activities that one can enjoy around the Clifton Forge area, and I have already spread the word to other friends, and to family, about the cottage as being an extremely comfortable and quiet place for an overnight stay, or for a longer visit. The delightful innkeeper was very helpful in handling my reservation, and the fresh farm eggs left for us in the fridge (the entire cottage is perfectly appointed with every household need) was a welcome surprise. Staying in this peaceful and private cottage is reason enough to revisit the Clifton Forge area, and any activity one might engage in is simply a bonus to their time spent in that area. Gregg R…
Excellent little inn in Clifton Forge. Very homey and welcoming. Rooms are well appointed. Check in was easy and done without anyone having to be there. Breakfast was continental but they had just about anything you could ask for. We would definitely stay there again.
Wow very friendly atmosphere. I am enjoying my stay. Glad to be here. Has a home style environment. Will stay again if I come back in this area. It is a relaxing place. Perfect place for meditation and peace of mind.
Attractive Inn / B&B with comfortable rooms and attentive hosts. The common areas are quite comortable also and thoughtfully planned out. The kitchen is stocked nicely for a continental style breakfast and available at all hours.
We stayed in the 2nd floor room #1, it comes with a king size bed and a private show, and is comfortable for two people. The 1st floor has a kitchen and a living room, with nice decorations. It is a cozy place to stay, and is easy walking to the surrounding restaurants. We would stay here again if going to VA again.
This inn offers everything for travelers. Comfortable beds, fresh linens, use of the kitchen with coffee maker and breakfast food, washer and dryer and more. The air conditioning was a godsend this summer. Two large gathering rooms with TVs. The Innkeeper goes out of her way to make everything possible for you and your needs.
