The Red Lantern Inn is such a welcoming place! We loved the open access to the whole house, and the feeling of plenty. Bedrooms are so well decorated and comfortable. We slept deeply. The kitchen was well stocked with breakfast foods, fruit, and coffee, and we were invited to help ourselves any time of the day or night. Clifton Forge... More

What a wonderful stay at the Red Lantern Inn, it really couldn't have been better. As someone who has severe allergies (especially to animals), I was thrilled to see how CLEAN the house was. It is clear that a lot of time, energy, and money is put into maintaining the home. My family and I rented out the entire home... More

I had the pleasure of staying at this gorgeous little inn for almost three months on and off. The place is absolutely beautifully well kept and close to greenbrier resort and other ski places. Joanne the owner is a wonderful person and would do everything in her capacity to make your stay comfortable.

The Red Lantern Inn was terrific. Wonderfully friendly hostess and a clean and well appointed place to stay. Thoughtfuly decorated and comfortable. Bed was firm and shower had lots of pressure. The Inn was easy to find and close to interesting venues such as Warm Springs and Hot Springs, VA. We had dinner at the Grist Mill Inn in Warm... More

Convivial host Jo Ann Carter Gideons welcomes you into her beautifully renovated historic home -- truly a labor of love. The large kitchen at the Inn means you can prepare your own meals there - like a home away from home. Antiques and comfortable decor and furnishings provides a perfect refuge after a day or hiking to waterfalls (the spectacular... More

I stumbled upon the town of Clifton Forge, VA when checking the train schedule to Lexington, VA, where I was meeting my husband for a few days of R&R. The train only goes to Clifton Forge, but it couldn't have been easier. I booked the Inn because it was affordable compared to many other places, and it was right off... More

It was great to get off the beaten path from the usual chain hotels. This Inn was spotless and very comfortable. I'm coming back. I stopped at the Virginia welcome center and they suggested this spot.
