This lovely Victorian Inn is well-appointed, tasteful, quiet, comfortable and relaxing. The plentiful breakfast is uniquely delivered to the suite door along with hot coffee or latte. The innkeepers know what they are doing and are very friendly and so accommodating. Make it a stop when you visit beautiful southwest Virginia, just minutes from the Va Tech campus.

We recently stayed here on the occasion of our 45th wedding anniversary. ❤️❤️ I cannot say enough superlatives about the welcome we received on arrival, the attention to detail throughout this property which included good coffee and tea, a restful environment, high quality toiletries, a delicious breakfast beautifully presented, loads of nooks and crannies to enjoy, and spotlessly clean throughout! If you are looking for a B and B of convenience with standard fayre, standard decor, acceptable service and a forgettable experience, there are many places to choose from. IF you are looking for EXCEPTIONAL service, EXQUISITE decor and surroundings, lovingly restored decor and antique furniture, delicious food and coffee, a relaxing ambiance and great memories created by wonderful hosts, then your choice will be very limited - probably down to just one! The Oaks Victorian Inn. Thank you Shannon and Jason!

We came back to the Oaks after a first stay 5 years ago and weren't sure what to expect. We were wonderfully surprised to see that the new owners had done an amazing job renovating the house and the grounds. They truly understand the hospitality business and have thought of so many details that may seem trivial, but make a world of a difference for the seasoned traveler. From fresh flowers in the room to plush robes, from phone chargers and extra plugs placed right by the bedside to a menu of different soaps and specialty coffees, everything spells attention to detail.
We were warmly welcome and treated to a glass of wine upon our arrival.
Our room (the Edwin) was large and comfortable, extremely quiet, beautifully furnished and decorated. It features a king size bed, a daybed, a loveseat and three armchairs. Large bathroom, with tub/shower combination, and ample room to put your toiletries down.
When we came back from dinner, some fresh baked cookies were waiting for us.
Breakfast was an amazing spread of the best blueberry scones I have ever had, an assortment of homemade jams, bacon, a large bowl of fresh fruit with yogurt and homemade granola, orange juice and a masterfully prepared cafe latte.
I strongly recommend this inn and we will be back ourselves, hopefully sooner rather than later!

Jason and Shannon go above and beyond to provide warm, welcoming hospitality and a stellar experience at their inn. Everything they do is done with excellence, from decorating the rooms, to making a delicious breakfast from scratch, to providing specialty coffee drinks to order. We could tell that every element of our stay was carefully thought out ahead of time, even down to providing us a choice of luxurious soap fragrances for our bathroom, and planning personal touches to congratulate us on our approaching wedding anniversary. We also enjoyed a personal tour of their beautiful and historic inn. We will definitely be coming back for another memorable experience!

We had a wonderful experience at the Oaks Victorian Inn from the time of our reservation, which was handled with such care by Shannon, until our departure after two nights in this lovely inn. Every detail is taken care of, the beds and linens are dreamy, and our innkeepers, Shannon and Jason could not have been more kind and gracious. Outstanding breakfast, tea and coffees (Jason made my perfect latte each morning) delivered to our door. Highly recommend this very special place!

The groom's side of the family stayed here for the wedding weekend. Shannon and Jason hosted 10 family members and took such good care of all of us. We were pampered with comfortable rooms, an inviting wrap around porch, a stone back patio with beautiful grounds and a small koi pond. The coffee and breakfasts were so good. We felt at home.

I love a good B&B, and I have stayed in many, including one in Avignon, France. This one is the most beautiful of them all. The owners are passionate about the property, and you can feel the love and care they've poured into this home. The level of detail is incredible. The beds are comfy, the food delicious, the owners friendly and welcoming. We took 3 rooms for our visit to Virginia Tech - all spectacular. My family wore the owners out with questions about the history of the house, and they patiently answered every single one. They even set a table in their lovely garden for us with fresh flowers so that we could enjoy a take-out meal for dinner when we were too tired to go out. I hope to go again and try another room!

We called to make arrangements on pretty sort notice, but Shannon was very accommodating, even enthusiastic, chatting briefly and making the arrangements easily. That friendly tone continued as soon as we pulled into the parking lot despite being a little later than expected. Both Shannon and Jason personally welcomed us, helping us with our bags, and getting us settled in. Their introduction to our room turned in to an historical tour of the inn. They are obviously passionate and personally invested in every aspect of this inn and in our experience during our stay. They introduced us to some other guests, shared information about dinner options, shared a glass of wine, and made us welcome in every way. On their recommendations, we ventured down to the local brewery - Iron Tree Brewing - and enjoyed a good sampling along with some fantastic smoked BBQ chicken from Bootleg BBQ. We ended the evening on the second story balcony chatting with the innkeepers watching the sun go down.

The inn is exactly as described and more. Well appointed inside with delightful gardens out. I particularly enjoyed the goldfish pond–so relaxing–and was tickled to find a pair of doves nesting in the trellis under the portico. Our room on the first floor with views of the garden was impeccable. Home made cookies and mints were waiting for us on arrival. Distinctive soaps and spa tub, warm robes, luxury bed, soft sheet, great pillows were refreshing and lulled us to sleep.

I woke early and walked down to Depot Park, a local park 1/2 mile away. It’s a little hilly, but a pleasant stream (restoration project in process) along a walkway, dew on the grass, and sun streaming through ancient oaks and maples along the way made for a good morning jaunt. Breakfast was spectacular starting with a barista-quality custom brew from Jason. Then fresh fruit parfait and their special cinnamon granola followed by a hearty fresh vegetable frittata and home fries with a side of crispy bacon. A little James Taylor completed the morning.

We were headed out quickly after breakfast, anxious to meet our family later in the day. But before we were more than a few miles down the road, Shannon called to personally thank us, say good bye, and wish us well along our way. I can’t say enough about how welcoming, friendly, and solicitous these hosts are, providing a warm, relaxing, luxurious experience.

Highly recommend a trip to stay for any reason. Not only was it a beautiful well appointed room , but the hosts thought of every detail. We were passing through visiting our son at VA Tech and ended up with a great weekend getaway. The hosts called ahead to understand our needs, met us at the door to get us settled in and made us feel welcome and at home. Breakfast, including a grommet latte, was delivered right to our door at the time requested. This is a hidden gem, and professionally run by Shannon and Jason who have a gift for hospitality. I would also recommend pre-ordering the charcuterie platter for arrival, it was fantastic to sit by the fire and enjoy a relaxing evening. In a life too busy to slow down and always enjoy the moments, this is a place worth making the trip for. Hopefully we can stay even longer next time.

We arrived at the Oaks and were quickly greeted upon arrival by the innkeepers, Shannon and Jason, two lovely people. They went out of their way to not only take our bags but give us a complete tour of the inn, to include its history. They provided us with a complimentary drink and were ever the most gracious hosts. The smell of the morning breakfast was so enticing that we could hardly wait to indulge. Homemade scones, fruit, granola, bacon, etc... wonderfully presented. I highly recommend this inn for your getaway. You won't be disappointed and Shannon and Jason truly will make it a memorable experience.
