This motel Chincoteague Inn was the most disgusting place I stayed in a very long time. The rug was very stained, the front door to outside had large gapping space between jam and door. The bathroom sink was cracked and the cracks were black with crude. The faucet looked moldy. The shower curtain rod was rusty. The room smelled horrible , it was infested with flys. I killed at least 15 of them. The bath linoleum didn’t meet the walls. And brown and black crude filled the gap Just disgusting I strongly recommend you don’t stay here.
Had a room with 2 double beds on the second floor. Room was large and well appointed with a nice sized table, mini-fridge/freezer and microwave. Bathroom was functional and clean. Beds were comfortable and clean. Pretty much what you'd expect for this type of property. My only concerns were a couple of minor cleaning issues in the room - there looked to be a few drops of oatmeal spilled on one of the walls and the fridge door had fingerprint smudges on it. Based on the cleanliness of the rest of the room, the exterior and common areas, my feeling is that these issues were an oversight. Property staff were friendly and helpful. The exterior of this property is fairly spartan - exterior wooden stairs, small crushed stone parking lot. I would stay here again, although it is on the opposite end of town from the wildlife refuge and beach.…
At $59 midweek this was a hidden gem. Older property however clean, well-appointed, good lighting, bed reasonably comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay here. Good WiFi with full cable channel selection. My only objection is that it might not have hurt for the young lady who checked us in to smile once in a while, so as to make us feel welcome.
The Chincoteague Inn was delightful. Well dressed, basic room with quite a few well thought out touches. Clean, cool, easy access to many nearby stores and restaurants. The room came equipped with a fly swatter! That was a thoughtful addition to the basic, yet necessary coffee maker, microwave and such. Eventhough it is on Maddox avenue, it was a quiet spot. The pool was great.Their covid safety precautions were in place.
I will echo what some others have said, that the place is a bit dated and not on the water or with a water view. However, this is a great place to stay. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable so what more can you ask for? The staff was great, very helpful with suggestions. The location is great. You can walk to a lot of the restaurants, mini-golf etc. If you are looking for a decent, clean, affordable room then I reccomend staying here. It is where will probably stay when we return, I Just hope it isnt another 14 years.
If you are a picky person, don't stay here! If you can understand that an older hotel isn't going to be picture perfect, then you will be okay. It seemed to be an older hotel that's been somewhat updated. Beds were clean and fairly comfortable. I liked the walk in shower vs. a tub. Reasonably priced, compared to other places. Let's just say it's doable, but nothing fancy. I will say that the staff was amazingly nice, and things around the building were kept in order. The pool was a nice feature, although it could also use some sprucing up! Great location...within walking distance to shops and places to eat.
Although this Inn is not on the water or have a water view, we found it to be comfortable. The upside was the outdoor screened community kitchen which we enjoyed for a BBQ meal. It is a older building but the room was a nice size for a two double bed. There were cornhole games and a volley ball net. I am not sure if they supplied the volley ball since we did not use it. It was a short walk from the Island Creamery which should not be missed. The downside was the noise from the units above, it was three levels without an elevator and the toilet and bathtub are in a very, very small space. It was reasonably priced as compared to other lodging on the island.
We had a Groupon & email confirmation but when we got there they didn’t have our reservation. They had vacancy but made us repay the current rate for that day anyway if we wanted to stay. The room was very outdated, the carpet was gross, and you couldn’t be in the bathroom & close the door at the same because it was so small. We have stayed at several different places in Chincoteague and definitely will NOT stay here again.
Check in was very easy, plenty of extra parking in the grassy lot nearby if needed. Very friendly staff. The only issue we had was being on the top floor with no elevator, so if this could be an issue for your stay be sure to mention it when booking. It didn't really affect us but could be a deal breaker for others. You can't beat the location. It's a bit outdated but we found it charming and the beds were VERY comfortable. AC worked well too!
I've stayed here frequently and love the staff. It's also a great location and the rooms all have mini fridges and microwaves. More recently, the staff worked hard to give me a credit despite no cancellation policy. The weather turned stormy all of a sudden, and they went out of their way to work out a compromise. Plenty of parking and nice sunny pool.
