An amazing facility! Rooms are quaint, well equipped .The sports facility is second to none and the golf course is challenging, especially the back nine.Squash Club is the finest in the US ,if not the world!

We traveled to Charlottesville for a wedding. We had a 4:00 check-in and the wedding started at 4:30. We asked to be able to check by 3:00 so we could make the wedding in time. The staff was very accommodating. We especially liked the pictures of the past that we hung in our room. Very rustic.

We take an annual trip to The Boar's Head in September. Does not ever disappoint. Quaint, cozy and relaxing! Highly recommend! Room service is pretty pricey, but delicious! Spa books up quickly so make sure you make reservations in advance.

I received my MSc and PhD in Chemical Engineering at UVa in 1977. Boar's Head Inn was a dream for us then. With our student income we could not even think to come close to this establishment. When we decided to visit my old school after sı may years and see Charlottesville the first thing that I did was to... More

Went for a short weekend getaway to Boars Head Inn with my mom. Arranged a wine tour that picked us up from the Inn, then went to spa and played golf at Birdwood. Enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant downstairs and lunch at Birdwood.

I have been to Boars Head many times over the years and although the price was right I feel much of the homey inn feeling is gone. I remember the copper pots serving homemade sausage gravy and the woman who had made it filing it out now there was a congealed tray of the gravy in a commercial tray and... More

One of the few non-chain hotels I frequent for business when I am in the area. Absolutely stunning views and updated rooms. The athletic facility is top notch and the best hotel facilities I have ever experienced in my travels of the Southeast. Gorgeous lap pool (still open in Sept as I swam last night) and everything to squash and... More

Whenever I travel to Charlottesville on occasional business trips, I always pick the Boars Head. The buildings are comfortable and cozy, the food is amazing, and the staff are the best I've encountered in any hotel. I was surprised at how affordable it was and still is for government and military travelers. The on-site gym and athletic facilities are the... More

Overall great experience at the BH. We were in a premium room/building that was fairly updated. The room was bright and clean however the bathroom shower could have been better cleaned to remove the gunk in the tile grout. the king bed while nicely appointed was old and soft...in need of replacement. While it was Labor Day weekend, and the... More

We decided to experience the Boar's Head on our way to the Smoky Mountains on a very hot and humid day in August.... Living in Europe, the site was reminiscent of the historical buildings we had experienced during our 7-year UK experience. However.... Although the décor was charming, the building and room had a terrible musty and dusty aroma which... More
