We had never stayed in a hotel with our pup. The Boars Head does a great job accommodating the pups, including doggie bed, fresh water and biscuits waiting. We always enjoy our visits to the Boars Head and had another great stay.

The Boar’s Head Inn is a special place that offers magnificent amenities. A few room maintenance issues that were promptly corrected. Very clean, great place to come. We now consider ourselves “regulars.”

Extreme disappoinment.. This is a expensive hotel so you would expect amenities and above average service. No help with luggage even offered. Room offered was downstairs with a dehumidifer running and a extension chord running in front of my room . The dehumidifer did not hide the smell of flood, humidiy, stale rug. Air Conditioning didnt work but was fixed by maintenance who said it wasnt turned on. Tv channels did not work. Drain in bathroom didnt drain. Only one restaurant open and that was at the golf course. Ordered a sandwich to take out and when I got back to the room I was given the wrong sandwich.. The only reason I stayed at this overpriced hotel was to be on the golf package. I requested and was given a 10am T time however when checking the t time the evening before i was informed it had been moved to 9:06am without my knowledge. Maybe they should have notified that they were sanding the greens , putts rolled in different directions on the back nine on Oct. 6. Course was VERY nice so it was disappointing to not know about the green sanding. The bar at the golf course had no bourbon Whiskeys..it is a bar right? Suffice it to say it is not worth $350+ a night and in fact isnt worth a fraction of that . I remain incredibly disappointed as I was looking so forward to an old, traditional wonderful hotel in Charlottesville. My email address is pmarsala@aireco.com if anyone would like to respond although I dont expect that to happen. Best, PM

Stayed here at the end of September for 3 nights. The front desk personnel were very welcoming & helpful when we checked. We booked a lakeview room and were in Building 600. The room had a very nice walk out patio with a table & 3 chairs facing the lake. It was a king room with a lot of floor space, a large dresser, 2 nightstands, a fridge, Keurig coffee, desk & chair, a regular closet and a nice walk in-shower. The resort grounds are beautiful. For meals we went to the golf course for one dinner. Their food was okay. Another night we ate out on the patio at the Mill Restaurant which was so pleasant. Their food was excellent. One of the evenings we drove to the Ivy Inn for dinner. That was delicious too. My husband played a round of golf & enjoyed the course. The resort really has a great location being close to Monticello, the Shenandoah & many wineries. You'll need a car to get around. We had a wonderful 3 days here.

The Boar's Head is a first class resort in the beautiful heart of the Charlottesville mountains. The Resort setting is private, however, you are very close to Downtown and all that Charlottesville has to offer. The staff are top notch and make you feel special and welcome.
