Attractive bed and breakfast with warm hospitality. Greeted by friendly and responsive desk manager and large cookie jar filled with oversized chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, freshly baked. Complimentary and unlimited wine/assorted cheese/fresh fruit at 5 PM. Complimentary breakfast buffet with sweet breads, toast, coffee cake, yogurt, homemade granola, fresh fruit, fresh squeezed OJ, gourmet coffee, among other items. Rooms and bathrooms nicely decorated and clean. We initially stayed in room 18, but due to noise we were moved to the second floor of the main house, and that room was very quiet. If I find myself in Charlottesville again I will definitely stay here again.
Historic building with well maintained rooms. We stayed in room 6 and loved the fireplace. It is close to the front door, but we didn't have an issue with sound. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We hope to return soon!
The house itself is lovely! But... We paid 159 dollar and got a room in the basement. Not okay! Talked to the owners, they Said it was fully booked (except for the room next door). When I looked at Booking later they had other rooms... The room was dark and murky, the only thing we could see through the windows were trashcans. No duves, only over used blankets. That was our only night in Charlottesville...
We were looking to spend a weekend in Charlottesville and found this gem. It is about a block off the historic downtown area with in walking distance to great restaurants. We arrives after the "happy hour" but were greeted by the host with a smile and a glass of wine. It was much needed after our six plus hour drive there. She gave us a tour and showed us to our room. We asked about places to eat and she recommended Bang which we would recommend as well. The location of the inn is perfect. We spent Saturday touring the various wineries with most being less than a 30 minute drive. Saturday night we found a place to eat in the historic district and walked around for a bit before heading back to the inn. We plan on returning in the future.
This is a lovely historic Inn. They serve wine and cheese in the evening and a delicious breakfast. it is walking distance to the center of town. Unfortunately, it is located near the train tracks and near some busy streets with loud garbage trucks. Since it does not have insulated windows, several times during the night we were awakened by garbage trucks and train traffic.
