The room was large and clean, if a bit dated. We did not need to use the kitchen. The bed was very comfortable for those who like soft beds (we did) Air conditioning worked fine, but the window unit did make some noise at night. The location is convenient to a lot of great places Manage expectations and you will be happy. this is a motel, not a resort. Checking in and out were easy and friendly for us.

As long as you're not expecting the Waldorf, this roadside motel is phenomenal in its amenities for the price. FULL KITCHEN, with an oven (not just cooktop), fridge, microwave, dishes and utensils. I love being able to bring food into an overnight destination. There's also a Food Lion and Dollar General (with generous food items) within minutes of the place...
Checkin was super-friendly by a lovely lady, and the room is quite large, with a full closet, bath closet, dresser, ceiling fan and huge walk-in shower. Thick towels, too!
While the finishes are a bit dated, everything was spotless in the room, obviously a key review factor...
Even though the Shore Stay Suites is right off the highway, I heard no noise from traffic...
Couldn't ask for more from my stay in February 2022.

We were grateful and pleased to find such nice accommodations recently when the Bay Bridge Tunnel winds prevented us from crossing for nearly 24 hours. Wind, rain, snow, ice…thank you for providing safety , cleanliness, and warmth in an unplanned stay. Everything we needed in kitchen with full sized stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave as well as sink and dishes. More than met our needs.

My kids and I have been coming for many years to visit the Kiptopeke State Park. Over the years, the quality of this hotel has been up and down but this year's trip has been the worst. The kitchen had no oven pans, no cutting board, and zero pots. They had 2 frying pans, one of which was also scratched up. One of the plates (they only had 2 small plates and a couple mismatching large plates) was also cracked. When I went to ask for a pot to make some rice, the lady at the front desk came back with 2 pots. One pot was so nasty it couldn't be used. The smaller pot was usable but no lid. When I asked if she had a pot with a lid, she said no in a nasty way and seemed annoyed that a paying guest was asking questions. Absolutely unacceptable.

This place is a dump. I was given a room with broken blinds; when I called and complained, the manager asked what I would like him to do. I said I would like another room. He replied we are completely booked. I asked why they would rent a room with broken blinds, and he said it was because I requested a pet-friendly room. I didn't understand what that had to do with the broken blinds. I pointed out that they should have advertised the room as having broken blinds so that I wouldn't have booked it.

Additionally, there were no blinds in the kitchen window. When I inquired about that, his reply was nonchalant; he said no one could see through the window. I mentioned that there used to be blinds in the kitchen window, to which he stated that none of his kitchens currently have blinds. I then brought up that my sister and cousin had booked rooms, so I asked if theirs didn't have blinds either. He changed his response and said that most rooms don’t have blinds. I told him I needed a refund or a discount. He replied that I hadn't booked through his site. I asked him what difference it made, as customers should be informed that they might receive a room with broken blinds. He suggested that I could use blankets to cover the window. After some back and forth, he eventually bought the blankets, and I asked him how I could keep the blanket in place. He responded that he didn't know. I told him I was going to complain, he said go ahead.

Then I asked who owned the hotel. He replied, "What does that have to do with anything?" I said never mind, as I could find out. The manager was extremely rude and nonchalant. I used to stay in this hotel a few years back and I don't remember this manager being rude and disrespectful. I definitely don't remember this place being like this and I

Fourth time here and so pleased with the improvements. Clean room with carpet recently shampooed. New appliances. I saw laminate flooring on a lower level room. Window blind needs replacing. Air conditioner was a bit loud but we were cool.

Our room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel is conveniently just off highway 13, and its easy to get to Cape Charles. Main plus was our room came with a kitchen, which was equipped with the basics (dishes, mugs, glasses, and utensils), a stove, coffee-maker, and a full-sized fridge. Only complaint was there was no clock! Our room didn't have a phone, but no matter, we all have cell phones!

Easy access, very quiet without road noise. Comfortable beds and very clean. Towels were a bit worn and front windows are sealed closed so there was no cross ventilation. Stayed one night and that was fine. Front desk receptionist was very, very unfriendly and not helpful at all when asked for local information. After driving all day a friendly greeting would have been expected in the hospitality business.

Wanted to like this place because the location is really good. Key card was the 1st problem and manager came to assist stating they have had some problems. One card failed again when trying to get to the ice and laundry room. Room was comfortable with worn carpet. Fridge was roomy with some rusted paint on the outside. Only one chair to sit at the table (maybe one is in an adjoining room?!) Should have been checked before completing the housekeeping. When leaving there was a large area of seagull droppings on the side of the steps that had been there had been there for a while. The place has potential but not at the price of $139 per night. COVID is waning so a manager should start making some motel rounds and oversight to improve the deficiencies.

To say the check in was less than friendly is an understatement. He acted like he would rather be anywhere else. And the rooms are less than desirable. The blind in the kitchen is cracked and dirty. The blinds in the bedroom do not offer complete privacy. The walls are filthy. I truly expected to see bed bugs. But the bedsheets were inside out. Pitifully lame towels and wash cloths. It’s also way out of the historic town. I would never recommend this place.
