Beautiful property and nice rooms but we stayed on the weekend in the middle of the summer and the restaurant and bar wasn’t open on the weekend! If you know that’s the case you should let people know before they book-very disappointing. I could have gotten the same room at the Hampton Inn for half the price.
This is a fantastic hotel. The room was very spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable. Even the climate control was quiet! In the morning, I was stunned to realize I had gotten over 8 hrs of uninterrupted sleep. I can't remember the last time slept that well in a hotel. Also they had a great breakfast (price was typical for a hotel).
Service was great and the location cannot be matched. Easy check-in, room was cleanest I have had upon recent memory staying at other hotels. Parking easy and free. Ability to walk safely and into town is a big plus. There is a restaurant (which I did not eat at). There is a bar (which I did drink at) that has a wide selection of alcohol. Took drinks out onto the back porch and enjoyed the sunset. Will stay here again next time I come thru.
We just got home from a stay at the Inn at Virginia Tech. I was so impressed with everything we experienced at the hotel. The staff was superb. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent. An awesome visit. Anytime we come to the area, it’s where we will stay.
I made a reservation at the Inn to take my son on a tour of the University. He had been accepted to Fall 2022 and we wanted to visit so he can make a decision. Our flight was cancelled 2 hours before it was supposed to leave and we could not make it to Virginia until the next day. I cancelled my reservation on the website and then tried to call the Inn. Through an automated system I was told to leave a message. I did and in my message I acknowledged that my cancellation was not outside of 24 hours and I was not looking for a refund of the one night they did eventually charge me, but a credit to a future stay. I did not receive a call back so I emailed them the next day. In my email I reiterated that I was not looking for a refund just a future credit. I did not receive an answer. I made arrangements for a new tour for my son and I at a future date. I emailed again and in this email told them that I had a new tour and would like to know if I can get a credit for the future booking. They finally responded to this email with "NO". They stated in the email their policies are not flexible and they could not apply it to a future reservation. Of course, the policy does not state that they cannot apply it, only that I will be charged. From the email they sent showing the policy: "CANCELLATION: Reservations must be cancelled by 4:00pm on the day PRIOR to arrival. Reservations cancelled after that time and/or no-show reservations will be charged for one night stay plus tax." I was charged the one night, I am not looking for a refund. The policy does not state they cannot apply to a future stay, only that they will charge you, which they did. Why can't they offer me a future credit? This seems rather ridiculous for a business to not be able to offer someone a future credit when they are willing to book a new stay right then and there. Obviously, the reason they will not do anything is because they apparently have so many customers and are constantly sold out that they do not care how they treat their customers and can afford to lose them. I will never book a room with this hotel ever again and considering my son will most likely go here for the next four years, that could be a lot of hotel rooms I could be booking during that time. For my new tour dates I have already booked another hotel, from a major chain, that has worked with me in the past when situations out of my control have happened. Like I said, i am not looking for a refund, they have my money. I see no reason why they cannot give me a credit. The policy does not state that they cannot give a future credit only that they will charge you. This is a poor excuse for a business and VT should seriously consider not having it associated with it and tarnishing its reputation.…
Comfortable, great location. The room had huge windows and a nice view of the mountains. Absurdly large flat-screen TV--I didn't watch it, but if I were a basketball fan, it would have been nice for the ACC tournament. My only complaint is that housekeeping never made up the room, never replaced towels & coffee, etc. I was there three nights and never even saw a housekeeping cart.
The Inn at Virginia Tech: We held our Delta Chi Regional Leadership Conference (RLC) at Virginia Tech and stayed at the Inn. They were very accommodating and helpful to make sure our group had the best experience possible. It was right on campus and extremely convenient. Thank you!
Virginia Tech means everything to my fiancé and me, so while visiting family on the east coast, we made a day trip back to Blacksburg, where we completed our undergraduate degrees just years earlier. I proposed on New Year's Eve and we spent the day walking around Blacksburg and enjoying the memories. I booked a room at The Inn and got the "Holiday Package" that came with a free appetizer from Preston's for dinner and free breakfast buffet the next morning for the both of us. It was an incredible deal, the food was delicious, the skeleton crew working the late shift on New Year's Eve when we checked in was fantastic, and the room was perfect.
A great place to to have a relaxed and enjoyable stay - For business and leisure travelers. Great location, wonderful staff with nice restaurant but also close to many other places in Blacksburg and VT.
I called (not an online reservation) and made a reservation for my son using my credit card. I SPECIFICALLY explained to the front desk that I wanted him to have no issues with check-in and the room was to go on my card. They ASSURED me there would be no issue. My son arrived at check-in and staff insisted he give them his credit card, promising him they would not use it, not to worry, then they charged his card instead of mine, after an extensive conversation over the phone regarding this very issue!! After I EXPLICITLY told them, when making the reservation, that I wanted to pay for the room for my son! They even argued with my son upon check-in, INSTEAD of doing what I had asked them to do, and was assured by staff would occur! What is going on at this facility that staff cannot do (1) what they are asked or (2) what they promise to a guest? The staff at the Inn at VT just tell you whatever you want to hear, "Sure! Whatever you want, ma'am!" "We can do that, no problem!" and then do whatever the heck want. Such childish, unprofessional, unethical behavior from a business tells me that the business believes they have such a plethora of clientele that there is no need for them to keep their word to guests because losing that guest's business means nothing to them in the larger scheme. I will never stay at this facility again, nor will my family. Keeping one's word is part of being a professional, ethical business, and The Inn at VT failed. VT should not want its name associated with such an unscrupulous entity.…
