We stayed in room #8, Smithfield King. The sheets feel like heaven. The breakfast is very good. The manager is very polite and accommodating. He does well to communicate with you and treat you like a valued guest. Coming and going is very easy, and privacy is not a problem. You may pass someone in the hall, at best. We couldn't hear anyone in other rooms but we knew they were there. Very good price as well. Booked our room for $72, taxes and fees included.

Property's Favorite Review
We really enjoyed our stay at Clay Corner Inn. Joshua was a great communicator all along the way. Super easy check-in and check-out process. Room was super comfortable and clean (we stayed in the Smithfield King Room). Terrific location - short walk into town and on edge of Tech campus, but quiet. Chatted with some friendly folks at breakfast including one of the owners and her daughter.

My wife and I were looking for a place to take our 2yr old granddaughter for a weekend getaway and came across Clay Corner Inn. We were drawn to it for its great location and its pool. We stayed in the Smithfield King Room. The bed was incredibly comfortable and bathroom was very large. The chocolates and bottled water were a perfect touch. Breakfast each morning was delicious. The pool was perfect - exactly what we were looking for. Great communication from the manager Josh. Looking forward to booking again the next time we're in the area.

From the delicious breakfast delivered to my room to the chocolates from Sugar Magnolia that greeted me when I first walked in, Clay Corner Inn is a wonderful place to stay when one is in Blacksburg. First, they upgraded me to a King size bed at no cost. They allowed early check-in times, so I could get in extra time going through downtown Blacksburg. The property is across the street from the Huckleberry Trail, which is a wonderful place to get some easy walking in while you're in town. My room was spacious and very clean and neat. I had plenty of towels and anything else that I would have needed. The first morning I had Grandma's Casserole, which was delicious and full of eggs, sausage, and cheese. It was so hearty that I couldn't even finish it all. The next morning I had scrambled eggs, toast and breakfast potatoes. Again, it was filing and delicious. The location was close enough that I was able to leave my car in the parking lot and walk into town, which was very nice. Many restaurants and shops are only a five to ten minute walk away. I highly recommend the Clay Corner Inn for anyone who wants a lovely stay in Blacksburg.

As a stop on a road trip, my friend and I stayed in a very cute train themed room with thoughtful touches like free chocolates, bath robes, and best of all an incredibly comfortable bed. We ordered breakfast through an app to be delivered to our room at a scheduled time (due to COVID), and it was delicious - I had a great veggie casserole and my friend had sausage gravy and the softest biscuits ever. We went for a dip in the pool in the morning, which was really refreshing. Josh, the owner, was very responsive to our questions over text. Would definitely recommend!
