I come to the area once a month for work, and prefer not to stay in hotels. Clay Corner is a really lovely little spot very close and convenient to Virginia Tech campus. The room was spacious and spotless and it was nice having a kitchen and common area to use as well. Josh, the host, was kind and communicative. I will DEFINITELY stay here again!

My family rented one of the 2 bedroom suites the night before moving our son into VT. It was the perfect location for walking around campus and downtown Blacksburg. Check in was simple, and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. A bonus is the very affordable breakfast, custom cooked and served according to your prearranged order and time. We will definitely look to stay here again when visiting!

The Clay Corner Inn does not disappoint. You can’t beat the proximity to campus (and the Farmers Market) - all while providing excellent accommodations and a can’t miss breakfast. Check-in/check-out is super easy and the staff are courteous and helpful. If you can, try and stay here at least once on your travels to Blacksburg/Virginia Tech. You won’t regret it!

I am so happy I was able to find a last minute vacancy at the Clay Corner Inn. The location is perfect- I was a short walk to my daughter’s dorm and close to Main Street. The owners and employees are so kind and accommodating. Communication was excellent, and checkin was easy. I didn’t have a car with me, and it was the perfect place to stay under those circumstances (for those flying into town), as you cannot stay one bit closer to campus. The room was lovely and very comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. I was not planning on ordering breakfast, but once I saw the menu, I had to try it. I am so excited to have found the Clay Corner Inn, as we will be staying here whenever we visit our hokie as long as there is availability!

There is something fishy going on at this establishment. They have no problem taking your money for reservations and then like to cancel last minute, like hours before you’re supposed to arrive. The owner is rude and full of excuses. It’s a busy college town where all the hotels are booked. Stay very far away.

Buyer beware! My wife and I booked Clay Corner Inn several weeks ago so we could visit our daughter for Parent's Weekend. Less than a week prior, we got an email from Josh saying his reservation company double booked us and he has to cancel our reservation. As out-of-state parents, we had already invested a lot of money for the weekend. He offered some gift cards as compensation. There are no other hotels available anywhere within an hour. We had to cancel everything and take a significant financial hit. A look at the VA Tech Parents page on another social media site shows that we weren't the only family he did this to. In fact, we saw screen shots with the same email and excuses. We saw some terrible responses from Josh to very distraught parents. It's unfortunate. If you have rooms booked there in the future, especially for an important event, I highly recommend you look elsewhere. Definitely do not use Venmo to pay in advance.…

We would like to clarify that this is a very isolated incident for us, as it has only happened twice in nearly 5 years. However, this does not excuse the impact it had on your experience with us. We assure you that we are taking steps to prevent this from happening again in the future. We want to emphasize that we are absolutely in no way dismissing your concerns. We value each and every one of our guests and take all feedback seriously. Really nice and centrally located B&B. Close enough to walk to the main drag, Virginia Tech, and nice restos. Josh runs a very efficient and well appointed inn and though we didn't meet him, is very responsive on text. Checked in on each of three 3 days we were there to see if we needed anything. Choice of hot breakfasts, you have to let them know your order the previous night till midnight via an online form. Sherry is his chef and very cheerful. They serve real maple syrup with their pancakes and waffles, which is rare in the US but important to us Canadians :-) Would definitely stay here again.
