This is truly my favorite place to stay! It is extremely clean and comfortable. The owners become your friends! The scenery is breathtaking. This was my third time staying there, and I will be going back.
Our time spent was welcoming, peaceful and clean. Ellen, THE HOST, greeted us with open arms. She was very warm and inviting. She was also very professional and delightfully knowledgeable about our interest as communicated. We have found a regular destination for vacations in Bedford, Va.
We stayed in the vanquility cottage which was on the lower level of main house and had a sun room, a living room and a bedroom ad covered over outdoor sitting area. Sun room overlooked peaks of otter. Living room had a kitchenette area with coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave and electric frying pan/skillet and normal sized fridge. Banana bread and instant oatmeal available in a basket, along with home made fruit butter (can’t remember if it was apple butter). John and Ellen the hosts are a lovely couple, the cottage is furnished with lots of personal touches. Like staying as a house guest in someone’s home. They were great to talk to. There was a baby goat born that morning and we got to hold it. The place was filled with songs of birds, bullfrogs, goats occasionally bleating—it is a wonderful oasis for the soul. WiFI in our cottage was excellent. Everything was spick and span clean. Sheets are actually air dryed on the line outside! Which give them such a nice fresh air scent. This was one of the best bed and breakfasts i have stayed in — but much more than that since it’s not really breakfast although she did make banana bread and leave some provisions. It is a bit out of town in the country but well worth the atmosphere…
My husband and I just returned from Lynchburg where we had gone for our granddaughter’s college graduation. Noting that all the hotels were charging exorbitant prices we opted for the Vanquility Acres Inn in Bedford, about a half hour from Lynchburg. We found the venue was perfect in every way. Ellen Everett and her husband, John, were very friendly and assisted us with any questions we had. The Garden Suite was wonderful!! We highly recommend Vanquility Acres to anyone looking for a great place to stay and a quiet, serene atmosphere. Thank you Ellen and John for everything!!! We truly enjoyed our stay with you. The Garden Suite was beautifully and comfortably furnished; very clean and inviting, with beautiful views of Peaks of Otter and amazing night skies! Ellen and John were very friendly and accommodating and made us feel very welcome. Delicious banana bread, quiet and peaceful rest. Very convenient to Bedford and to Peaks of Otter. We will definitely stay here again!
We had a wonderful weekend here. Ellen made everything so nice. Clean room, great views and very peaceful. Room had a wonderful sense of charm. She had made some walnut bread for us. Easy to make reservations and check in was great. They had thought of everything from menus and maps to all the extras for coffee.
Stayed at the Vanquility Acres Inn on our recent trip to The Peaks of Otter near Bedford, Va. Stayed in one of the cottages with everything you need to enjoy your visit. Beautiful surroundings, very relaxing and a great location. Enjoyed sitting on the deck with great views of the mountains. Easy checkin and very friendly owners. Felt Like being at home. Highly recommend.
We stayed in Peaksview Cottage, absolutely incredible small house with large patio and many first-class features. Everything was up to date, clean, and functional. Owners were quite nice and accommodating. The goats are worth the trip. We loved our stay.
Ellen and John were excellent and easy-going hosts of their beautiful property. We had the perfect summer getaway for a family get together. We enjoyed the pool in a perfect country setting with the goats and chickens nearby. It was so much fun for the kids and great views and outdoor spaces to relax at the end of the day. We would easily come back again and for many summers to come.
A perfect setting for a family get-together. We loved Vanquility Acres. Loved watching the goats, the deer, the ducks and the geese. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and the views were fantastic . Thanks you, John and Ellen for a wonderful weekend. We are already talking about a return trip.
