First, the location of the lodge is wonderful, right on the Blue Ridge Parkway with great views of the Peaks and an adjacent lake. There is no other lodging directly on the Parkway (or the Skyline Drive) for many miles to the north or south. Late afternoons sitting along or walking around the lake, or sitting on your room’s small...

You know your stuff about the history of the lodge. The view from the lodge looks over Abbott Lake at the most famous of the Peaks of Otter which is Sharp Top Mountain. Thomas Jefferson thought this was the highest mountain in the United States but it is not even the tallest of the peaks. Flat Top Mountain is actually...

The rooms were clean with a nice view of the lake. The staff was excellent and the food was very good. The location of the lodge was beautiful. The rooms could be updated some but I have no complaints. There are good walking trails and the grounds are kept up to high standards.

We are glad you enjoyed our "beautiful location". Our lodge setting draws travelers from all over our country and all over the world particularly this time of year when the leaves are so pretty with the Fall colors. Thank you again for staying with us, and please come back soon!

I've yet to stay at the lodge, but I have stopped here twice while driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway and this is one of the most scenic stops along the way and a great place for a delicious brunch! There's several trails for hiking that start here and a great scenic trail encircling the lake. There's also a gift...

You are going to have to stay at our "jewel of the parkway" to relax from your drive sometime. There is nothing like sitting on our room balcony/patio with a full belly of the good food you ate at our restaurant and a nice glass of wine. The beautiful views painted with the bright colors of fall make for a...

The rooms were super clean and comfy. Great food at Lakeview restaurant in the main building. Had breakfasts and dinners there. Gorgeous view from the dining room and nice ADA rooms. I would stay here again for sure. Nice walking path around the premise and companion pets felt right at home.

The Fall is our busiest time of year because of the beautiful yellow, red, and orange colors that enhance the mountain views. We are so glad to hear you will stay again and hope you come back soon. Thank you again for your patronage!

The walk around Abbott Lake is one mile and is very serene with the view of Sharp Top Mountain. Apple Orchard Falls, on mile marker 78, is approximately eight miles from the lodge. Other great hikes include Sharp Top Mountain, Harkening Hill, Johnson Farm, and Flat Top Mountain which are all within walking distance. We are glad you celebrated with...

We stayed when the leaves were just beginning to turn - beautiful time of year! Bring jackets and long pants even in the early fall - the mountains are chilly to hike. If you can, sit by the windows in the dining room - the view of the lake and of Sharp Top are gorgeous!

"Relaxing and beautiful" are great words to describe the Peaks of Otter. The leaves are starting to turn to yellow, orange, and red and the air is getting that crisp cool to remind us it is Fall. Thank you again for staying with us!

This property is located in a beautiful location on the edge of a lake. The accomodation is primarily in three two-storey blocks all facing the lake. They all have doors that open onto either a balcony (if on the second floor) or on to grass if on the first (ground floor). The rooms are large and well kitted out albeit...

The lake you mentioned is Abbott Lake and provides a beautiful early morning reflection of the leaves turning to Fall colors to be enjoyed from our room balconies/patios. There is no cell phone reception but we do avail the front desk phone to our guest if they need to check in family. We are glad to hear you would stay...

Peaks of Otter, or POO, a place of beauty and serenity. We have travelled extensively both domestically and internationally and this was one of our favorite stays. There is something for everyone. Outdoor experiences, history, culture or just a place to relax and contemplate the natural beauty of the region.

We are so glad we made you feel welcome so you could "relax and unwind". Sometimes nature provides a medicinal relief from the pressures of life. This is a lovely place, but the price is just TOO high. I feel that my total bill, taxes etc, included should not have come to over $150.
