Although I might have been the only one in the place, everything was simple and smooth, from booking through check-in (touchless) and breakfast. There were plenty of options for coffee and other hot drinks 24/7 and there were various breakfast options, including my favorite Chobani Greek yogurt, hard boiled eggs, fruit, etc. The location is great and the accommodations were nicer and roomier than I expected from an early 1800's building. There was even a portable ironing board and iron in the closet. The only thing I didn't see was a hair dryer. Overall very good experience and a better breakfast than at most hotels.

Perfect in every way. Beautiful property, lovingly maintained. All details have been thought out to ensure your maximum comfort and privacy. And so wonderfully accommodating to small children. Would give 6 stars if possible - a true gem!

When we visit our kids in NH we stay at the Snapdragon Inn over the border in VT. We love it.. It’s self serve but it’s always clean, stocked and welcoming. It’s our go to Inn and we highly recommend it.

As another reviewer indicated, the Inn is for sale and from our experience the owner has checked out. I would have given this a "1" except the inn itself is charming and has recently been remodeled with considerable attention to detail. It was also immaculately clean, unlike another reviewer's experience. Having said that, my advice is DO NOT STAY HERE for the following reasons; 1) the bed was uncomfortable. My guess is the mattress was worn out and a cheap "egg crate" mattress topper was purchased to avoid the cost of replacing it. All I know is the mattress sloped down from the center to the middle of the bed and it offered no support. 2) I never saw nor spoke to the host. She would only communicate by email. The night we arrived neither the internet nor the TV was working. I sent her an email about the problems. We went back-and-forth while I tried to explain what was happening. Between her not understanding what I was saying and long delays between each attempt it was a totally frustrating and futile exercise. I asked her to call me so we could talk. She did not. By 10 pm she stopped responding to my emails. She did email me the next morning and resolved the issue the next day, but 1 out of the 2 nights I was there I had no internet and no TV. What kind of B&B only communicates with its guests solely by email? 3) Breakfast was a joke. A bowl of apples and bananas, bagels, English muffins, store bought muffins wrapped in cellophane, and cold cereal were the choices. I expect more from a B&B. 4) The windows were painted shut. The room was too warm and the hot water heat had a long delay before the temperature adjusted. THING TO KNOW IF YOU IGNORE MY ADVICE & BOOK A STAY 1) There is no lighting on the street and it gets dark around 4:30 in NH in the winter. There is sign for Snapdragon Inn but it is not lighted so we didn't see it. If there were numbers on any of the houses on the entire block, I didn't see them. Further complicating the search, the picture on the website is the front of the inn, but the front faces the side yard not the street, so the street view wasn't what I was expecting. 2) Parking is on the left side of the inn when you face the house. There is a driveway on the right and we pulled in there first. It only had one parking place next to the trash cans, so we walked around to the other side before we found the parking lot. Be aware that the lost is just dirt so I expect it would be a muddy mess if it rains or the snow is melting.

We were beyond disappointed with our stay. The inn was hot. The windows didn't open. The floor outside our room door hadn't been swept--makes one wonder what else hadn't been cleaned. On day 2, the coffee maker didn't work, the water machine didn't work, the ice machine didn't work. The fruit was MOLDY! I had to put several pieces of fruit in the compost bin. It seemed like it had been days since the caretaker had visited. The food in general was less than mediocre. A bed and breakfast should have something for breakfast beyond an old breakfast sandwich in the fridge that's ready to microwave. YUCK! The sandwiches were hard and stale. We did not eat breakfast there either morning and neither did the couple we met there. The outside was in a horrible state of disrepair. The stairs leading in were patched and I'm surprised someone hasn't fallen and sued the owner. Hopefully whoever buys the place will fix it up because there is a lot that needs to be done. I've never been more disappointed with a stay.

Three nights spent here in utter peacefulness and quietude. Big room with old fashioned amenities and vibe... steam radiators, big claw foot bath (and separate shower), heated tile floor in bath, tall ceilings, lots of wood, and great fabrics. Kitchen is open to all and it is very well stocked and replenished often. Felt like home. Very nice library and reading room. Short walk out back to the lake and a hike, if desired. Front porch with wicker chairs are commanding! Check in and out completely self service.

We had fond memories of our last visit in 2014, but time was not kind to this inn. Our first impression as we walked up to the building was off-putting: the porch is literally falling apart, a makeshift construction is holding up one corner of its ceiling. Battered chairs and torn bits of awning hang down. The few steps to the main entrance and the outside landing were messy and could have stood a nice sweep. The room was pleasant (except for the smelly toilet). We stayed for three nights, not once was the room made up. In the welcome letter we picked up upon arrival one is informed that there is limited housekeeping - "none" would have been the correct term. It was explained as a Covid measure. We are way past that point in the pandemic... This fact was not communicated in any correspondence prior to this. And all this at a price of USD 282 per night! That is the shocking part. When we did bump into the innkeeper and express our discontent, her sole reaction was that she was not responsible for the pricing. Truly disappointing.

We never saw the owner or host. You are required to send in proof of Covid vaccination before your stay. Cereal, instant oatmeal and bread for toast is left out on the cabinet and fruit and yogurt in the refrigerator. The hot water pot was empty and no one to contact to get some water for hot tea. The room was clean; however, the bathroom was outdated. There was a realtor sign in the yard so I assume the inn is sold soon.

Only drawback is that there is not a way to contact directly the innkeeper during COVID times. Another guest locked the front door despite signage, and we needed to find a back door in the dark. There was not a response to a phone call and message. Beautiful walk around the lake and into the Paradise Park let us go home with happy memories nevertheless. We stayed in Room 3 with a shower and heated floor. Comfortable bed and rain-style showerhead made all feel luxurious, plus L'Occitane bath products and shampoo -- a favorite splurge brand of mine! Lovely collection of books about Maxwell Perkins, editor of Fitzgerald, Hemingway, and Thomas Wolfe, including letters from him to authors. Hike Mt. Ascutney is my recommendation, and the Train Station restaurant has good food (and beer) and great service.

We had a truly wonderful stay here. Rooms are specious and tasteful. Beds and linens were of excellent quality. Our room got great amount of light. Loved heated floor in the bathroom. The place was very clean, service very friendly and not overbearing. Great library — easily can lose yourself in a good book after a busy day. Wonderful stay. Can’t wait to be back.
