We never saw the owner or host. You are required to send in proof of Covid vaccination before your stay. Cereal, instant oatmeal and bread for toast is left out on the cabinet and fruit and yogurt in the refrigerator. The hot water pot was empty and no one to contact to get some water for hot tea. The room was clean; however, the bathroom was outdated. There was a realtor sign in the yard so I assume the inn is sold soon.
Perfect in every way. Beautiful property, lovingly maintained. All details have been thought out to ensure your maximum comfort and privacy. And so wonderfully accommodating to small children. Would give 6 stars if possible - a true gem!
Only drawback is that there is not a way to contact directly the innkeeper during COVID times. Another guest locked the front door despite signage, and we needed to find a back door in the dark. There was not a response to a phone call and message. Beautiful walk around the lake and into the Paradise Park let us go home with happy memories nevertheless. We stayed in Room 3 with a shower and heated floor. Comfortable bed and rain-style showerhead made all feel luxurious, plus L'Occitane bath products and shampoo -- a favorite splurge brand of mine! Lovely collection of books about Maxwell Perkins, editor of Fitzgerald, Hemingway, and Thomas Wolfe, including letters from him to authors. Hike Mt. Ascutney is my recommendation, and the Train Station restaurant has good food (and beer) and great service.…
We had a truly wonderful stay here. Rooms are specious and tasteful. Beds and linens were of excellent quality. Our room got great amount of light. Loved heated floor in the bathroom. The place was very clean, service very friendly and not overbearing. Great library — easily can lose yourself in a good book after a busy day. Wonderful stay. Can’t wait to be back.
I couldn't have asked for a better experience for a getaway with my daughter. The Snapdragon personnel were so accommodating and solicitous of our special requests. The inn itself is gorgeous and the lake behind the property is an unexpected delight. This is my third visit to the Snapdragon Inn and I hope not the last.
We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at the inn recently to celebrate my birthday. It was the first time to get "away" (only 1.5 hours!) since pre-Covid. We had everything we needed and knew assistance was only a phone call away. The bed was comfy, the heated bathroom floors were helpful, the dining room/breakfast area was fully accessible and stocked, and the library was full of history. We walked around the property and to the nearby lake. The soaking tub (only fits one person; use the shower head to fill faster) was a nice reprieve after hiking up the Mt Ascutney access road. Be sure to make a reservation and eat at the Windsor Station, a five minute walk away. Our first inside restaurant meal (they do have outside seating, too) in SO long and the food, drinks and service were exceptional. We highly recommend the Snapdragon Inn.…
Impromptu trip landed us at the delightful Snapdragon Inn. Meticulously spotless, comfortable beds with lush duvets and pillows. Cheerful and pleasant staff. The assortment of breakfast items is ample for any restricted diet. A pleasure to stay.
The inn is very unassuming from the outside. When you first pull up you might think it's not going to be what you expected, but inside was a completely different story. There is a self check in system which makes it convenient for you to arrive at any time. The rooms are incredibly spacious and our bathroom had a clawfoot tub! We enjoyed relaxing and appreciated the high quality bath products provided. The room and the whole inn itself was incredibly clean. There were fresh baked cookies out at one point in the afternoon. We slept in through breakfast, but still appreciated being able to get some fruit and a cup of coffee and tea. I think the only thing that would make this place a true 5 stars is if the outside was given a little TLC. Otherwise it's a great place to say and we will definitely be back.…
I am writing this review on behalf of two special people that I purchased a stay for at the Snapdragon Inn. Every detail was covered from start to finish. From the very first contact working with Dominique, she took care of everything for this couple’s honeymoon stay. Dominique was quick to respond to each email and call I made to get this set up. This Inn is definitely a gem and I hope one day soon to visit it myself. The couple can’t stop raving about every aspect of their stay. Means so much that this Inn clearly knows how to treat their guests. Thank you
Me and my husband stayed at the Snapdragon Inn over Columbus Day weekend. The room we stayed in was beautiful, with comfy bed and spacious bathroom with soaking tub. The grounds were lovely and historic. However the Inn felt more like an Airbnb than a B&B due to the self check in and serve yourself breakfast. I didn’t see the Innkeeper, however they were always available by phone. So although it lacked some personal touch, it was made up for by all its other features.
