The Windsor Mansion Inn, originally Juniper Hill Farm, sits high on its namesake hill within the town limits of the historic hamlet of Windsor, Vermont. The inn’s distinguished history dates back to the 1800’s and started with the Evart family. Since 1902, this gracious colonial revival home has looked over the expansive views of Lake Runnemede, the Cornish Hills, and Mount Ascutney; welcoming countless distinguished guests, including Presidents Roosevelt and President Wilson. The storied mansion is perched on 14 acres of the private estate and has operated as an Inn since 1944. Recently purchased in 2015, Winsor Mansion Inn has undergone a million dollar restoration and renovation project to return the historical property back to its original glory. The Inn is on schedule for a soft opening for reservations the first weekend in June 2016, offering 17 guest accommodations including standard, deluxe, and presidential bedrooms all with their own private baths. Over the next four months the property will proceed to restore the properties exclusive tavern, gourmet kitchen, and the addition of three guest accommodations never before existing at the historical mansion. Although large in scale the properties restorations have truly helped to embody its original design to be warm, inviting, and true to all things Vermont. The Windsor Mansion Inn’s comfortable lounge areas and extensive lawns with gardens are the perfect setting for a relaxing get away or venue for a memorable event. The mansion features three locations for events, including an expansive deck and patio, perfect for both open air or tented events; offering breathtaking views of the Connecticut River Valley and architectural facades that are a perfect backdrop for memorable events and photos to last a lifetime. Our historical mansion is one of the few venues in the area that has the ability to host ceremonies, cocktail parties, receptions, and lodging all at one beautiful location. This 19th century family summer cottage turned Inn is centrally located to the famed Cornish Windsor Bridge, the longest antique covered bridge in North America, as well as the Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site. Windsor Mansion is also pleased to be just 3 miles from the newly developed Artisan Park, which consists of Harpoon Brewery, Silo Distillery, Simon Pearce, and more! Only 19 miles to Dartmouth College and 16 miles to Woodstock, Vermont, Windsor Mansion Inn is centrally located to all the best of the Upper Valley and New England. The newly revived Mansion and its ownership are pleased to carry on the famed gentile hospitality and elegant entertaining that was once desired by patrons throughout its history. Today guests can experience the home as it was originally intended with over 6,000 square feet of common space and an additional 5,000 square feet of manicured grounds designed for the perfect Vermont getaway!

We stayed here on a last-minute whim, and we are so glad that we did! Andy was warm, friendly and welcoming and he and his delightful family made us feel right at home. We loved the mansion tour, where Andy took us through the history of the property, placing it in the context of both Vermont and regional history as well.

The inn itself is expansive and beautiful, but not pretentious in its own right. Our kids never felt out of place, and were encouraged to explore and engage with the space. Our included breakfast featured perfectly-prepared scrambled eggs, locally-sourced and made sausage, yogurt with fresh berries, orange juice, coffee and toast with a tasty jam. Even though we called to reserve a room only hours ahead of our arrival, Andy put us up in a room in a Presidential Wing room used by Woodrow Wilson, and made sure it was perfectly set up to accommodate our family of four, and gave us a great rate. The room was warm and comfortable, with crisp, clean linens, a superb bed and spacious bath with a claw foot tub. We didn’t use the room’s porch (as the temps were near zero), but it was a lovely addition. We took full advantage of the Presidential Wing sitting area and its games and books. Had we stayed longer, we would have availed ourselves of the pub and its fare as well.

We are not fancy travelers, and are generally satisfied with modest accommodations, keeping our expectations in line. We were absolutely enthralled with our experience here, and think it is one of the great values of the region. If you are planning a trip to the area, do yourself the favor of booking your stay at the Windsor Mansion Inn. Say hi to Andy for us, and be sure to give little Lily a warm smile!

This is a lovely mansion [with great history] on a hill in Vermont. It has a welcoming, knowledgeable and accommodating host, cozy rooms and good breakfasts. We had the standard continental breakfast our first morning, consisting of oatmeal with bananas, a small ramekin of yogurt with blueberries and several small chocolate croissants. We upgraded the second morning and were treated to a delicious baked French toast and local sausages; orange juice was standard with each meal. An extra touch that made me very happy - and a bit relieved - was that they had a makeup remover pad and a dark washcloth in the bathroom! (I usually bring my own washcloth, so as not to mess up the typical white ones in most hotels, but I had neglected to put it in my suitcase so didn't have it with me.)

Their COVID protocols required masks to be worn outside of our guest room, hands to be sanitized prior to using the coffee station and they limited seating in dining areas to allow for distancing.

It was a perfect home base to explore the area during a getaway weekend. I hope to return soon!

I happened to stay 1 night for an overnight ski trip and I was so impressed on many levels.

Andy is the backbone of the inn. He was super nice from my initial phone call and all the way through check-out. He genuinely cared about my experience and it couldn't have been better.
After great dinner service, I told him I was planning on having breakfast at 8:15am and the following morning the table was set with OJ, a pastry, and fruit right by the window. You can tell he really cares about the customers' experience and the reputation of the inn.

The rooms, beds, and bathrooms were extremely clean. They also take Covid seriously which I personally appreciate.

Lastly, the property is just gorgeous, but it was Andy's service that surprised me the most. I can't wait to stay again.

Thanks, Andy

We came for 1 night and stayed for 3! We loved our stay at this beautiful historical Inn with its magnificent views and lovely decor. We enjoyed the comfortable and spotless room, the many shared spaces and most of all, the inn keeper, Andy, who went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had the best time. Andy answered all our questions and gave us great tips for dining and things to do in the area. Every room in this inn is unique and we enjoyed Andy's tour and stories of the inn's rich history. We spent our last night in one of the amazing suits - highly recommended! Windsor and the surrounding area offer many dining options and things to see and do. Can't wait for our next visit!

We found this mansion listed online and booked an evening. We were not disappointed. Upon entry we were greeted with a warm, friendly smile. After sanitizing and temp check (which is great) we settled into our lovely room.
The manager hooked up a heater fireplace in our room and it just brought such a lovely glow to the room.

Bed was comfortable and the grounds were very pretty but the rain kept us from them.

The heating/air and linens are all updated and the place is gorgeous.

In the am we woke to a light farewell breakfast. It was a really nice touch.

The manager went above and beyond by recommendation of a local restaurant and helpful information. I wish all of the

I can't even put into words how perfect this trip was! We travel a lot and this was our first getaway trip of the year because of Covid. We were a little nervous about staying at an Inn but Andy the innkeeper was BEYOND amazing and took extra precautions to make sure we were safe and comfortable. I honestly will never be able to thank him enough for giving us the most perfect weekend. The mansion is even more beautiful than it looks in pictures! There are also such great places to explore nearby and the area is full of historic sights and beautiful nature. We explored the nearby towns of Woodstock and Quechee during the day. This was really one of the most romantic places we've ever stayed with it's gorgeous views, fire pit, beautiful historic rooms and Andy's lovely musical Playlist that serenaded us all evening. I was blown away by this place and most of all by how hard Andy works to take care of his guests. It was such a pleasure getting to know him and he was even kind enough to give us a tour of the building. We will remember this trip for the rest of our lives and we are already planning for future trips back in the Fall. Thank you so much Andy for a wonderful time!

The Windsor Mansion Inn is a charm-soaked jewel on a hilltop in Windsor VT overlooking the famed Cornish Hills in NH. The beneficiary of an extensive renovation by the Steinbrenner family several years ago, the former Evarts estate property is beautifully appointed. The room I stayed in rivaled the quality of a room at the Woodstock Inn at a fraction of the price. Andy, the innkeeper, is personable, knowledgeable and attentive to guest needs. The common areas have turn of the century charm with some modern splashes. You can enjoy a glass of wine in the warm, inviting lounge area. The breakfast was top notch with fresh orange juice, french toast and sausage. Highly recommend.

The only thing more outstanding than the view and ambiance about this hidden gem is the owner’s attention to his guests. Andy took in three weary travelers and made us feel like we were home. Our room was well appointed and comfortable but also beautiful and squeaky clean. We woke up and were treated with a locally sourced home cooked gourmet breakfast and some lovely chat about the hotel and the location around it. I can’t wait to go back and stay for longer. Do not pass over this place!

I was married over Labor Day weekend and rented the entire in for my family. (15 rooms). Andy the Inkeeper was beyond amazing- checking in with me regarding reservations, giving a tour to my dad and my inlaws, accommodating my 94 year old Gramma, as well as two new mothers with babies. He deftly handled so many mishaps with a smile on his face.

The location is sublime. All of our guests were from out of state, and I couldn't imagine a better place to show off Vermont to our favorite people.

My bridal sweet was so perfect and with a great view- I want a soaking tub for one of our next wedding anniversaries. Andy was so savvy to put my husband's room far from mine on the day of.

He hosted a fantastic afterparty after our rehearsal and even handed me complimentary glasses of champagne. He brought my Gramma a flashlight and a stepstool in case she lost her way to her restroom at night.

Breakfast was amazingly delicious, from what I heard. What a sweet surprise!

We did our getting ready in the breakfast room, and Andy was so thoughtful to pipe in instrumental Disney Princess music. He is so calming and professional and thoughtful. When we came home from the wedding, a lovely welcome sign to our new Mr. and Mrs name awaited us.

He even let my sister and officiant sneak into my suite to drop off champagne and sweets!

My aunts threw a breakfast the day after, and they couldn't stop gushing about how helpful everyone at the Windsor Mansion Inn was. It was truly perfect, beyond all expectation. Our guests LOVED the experience.

It's a beautiful historic and elegant place. The view is beyond compare.

Thanks to Andy and all your friendly and helpful colleagues. We want to come back for our anniversary. Sending all of you love and gratitude.

Andrew (and a nice lady) greeted my sister and me upon arrival. We were very tired as we’d been sightseeing in New Hampshire the first part of the day and driven to Portland, Maine for more sightseeing in the afternoon to late evening.

After having our temperatures checked, we were given a quick briefing about the property and information regarding breakfast. Andrew carried our rolls my bags up the three flights of stairs for us (without us asking). The next morning when he saw we’d brought them down ourselves, I gladly said that he would’ve brought them down for us (how kind!).

While we opted for a local diner for breakfast that was on our drive to Sugarbush Farm instead of the continental at the Inn, we did enjoy the majestic scenery from the front patio terrace. Simply breathtaking. We grabbed some orange juice and coffee for road, however.

Our room, the East Lake Room, was the last available room in the inn (seriously lol), so we were blessed to find and be able to experience this gem.

Though small, it was well suited for our stay. We had a full size bed and a nice bathroom. The shower head wasn’t adjustable (which would’ve made for a better experience) and my sister who is on the taller side noted the bed was shorter than what she prefers, but absolutely no real complaints. The room was spotless and so was the entire property.

Excellent communication before and after our stay. Andrew was very helpful by phone twice when we called to inform that we were on the way. My only regret is that we did not arrive sooner on the first night to learn more about the property and enjoy more of the awesome views.

Most of our rooms have queen sized beds with 2 having king size and 1 having a full size. Two of our rooms, #32 and #35 have either a day bed or a full sleep sofa. These rooms can hold up to 4. If you would like a rollaway, we have those for certain rooms also. Thanks for asking! Gayle
