The Windsor Mansion Inn, originally Juniper Hill Farm, sits high on its namesake hill within the town limits of the historic hamlet of Windsor, Vermont. The inn’s distinguished history dates back to the 1800’s and started with the Evart family. Since 1902, this gracious colonial revival home has looked over the expansive views of Lake Runnemede, the Cornish Hills, and Mount Ascutney; welcoming countless distinguished guests, including Presidents Roosevelt and President Wilson. The storied mansion is perched on 14 acres of the private estate and has operated as an Inn since 1944. Recently purchased in 2015, Winsor Mansion Inn has undergone a million dollar restoration and renovation project to return the historical property back to its original glory. The Inn is on schedule for a soft opening for reservations the first weekend in June 2016, offering 17 guest accommodations including standard, deluxe, and presidential bedrooms all with their own private baths. Over the next four months the property will proceed to restore the properties exclusive tavern, gourmet kitchen, and the addition of three guest accommodations never before existing at the historical mansion. Although large in scale the properties restorations have truly helped to embody its original design to be warm, inviting, and true to all things Vermont. The Windsor Mansion Inn’s comfortable lounge areas and extensive lawns with gardens are the perfect setting for a relaxing get away or venue for a memorable event. The mansion features three locations for events, including an expansive deck and patio, perfect for both open air or tented events; offering breathtaking views of the Connecticut River Valley and architectural facades that are a perfect backdrop for memorable events and photos to last a lifetime. Our historical mansion is one of the few venues in the area that has the ability to host ceremonies, cocktail parties, receptions, and lodging all at one beautiful location. This 19th century family summer cottage turned Inn is centrally located to the famed Cornish Windsor Bridge, the longest antique covered bridge in North America, as well as the Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site. Windsor Mansion is also pleased to be just 3 miles from the newly developed Artisan Park, which consists of Harpoon Brewery, Silo Distillery, Simon Pearce, and more! Only 19 miles to Dartmouth College and 16 miles to Woodstock, Vermont, Windsor Mansion Inn is centrally located to all the best of the Upper Valley and New England. The newly revived Mansion and its ownership are pleased to carry on the famed gentile hospitality and elegant entertaining that was once desired by patrons throughout its history. Today guests can experience the home as it was originally intended with over 6,000 square feet of common space and an additional 5,000 square feet of manicured grounds designed for the perfect Vermont getaway!

I organized a small get together at the Inn. Over and above what I expected. Fabulous host, really comfy bed and room, clean, professional. The history of the Inn , the town of Windsor , and surrounding area is very interesting. Everyone enjoyed their stay. Highly recommended.

First of all the building designed by A. Saint-Gaudens makes this a compelling place to stay. Secondly, the location is central to many activities and attractions in VT, NH, and MA. Most of all the service and friendliness of the hosts and the comfy, well adorned room made for a wonderful stay. The food was better than we anticipated as we were told the breakfast would be only a continental and humble fare. The grounds and view are beautiful and as, I already mentioned the hosts are wonderful. Andy was a wealth of information regarding the area and provided excellent recommendations for our sightseeing, hiking, dinning, and shopping. We stayed in the Federal Room and loved it.

My wife and I stayed two nights at the Inn and truly enjoyed the visit. Andy is highly engaging and very helpful and considerate of his guests. He spends a lot of time with the guests which makes it feel like old friends. The highlight was hanging out with Andy and the other guests. Our room was cozy and comfortable with plenty of space. While quiet at night, there was some hallway noise at times during the day. The continental breakfast was actually very good and just the right amount to send you on your way. The location is excellent as it’s within easy access to fantastic scenery without the crowds. The Windsor Mansion Inn has rich history and is certainly a great choice.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay for two nights during peak fall foliage season. This inn is more like a bed and breakfast. Our Gordon Ramsey room had a gorgeous view. Breakfast was delicious and perfect portion, served in their dining room. There is also a pub area with a bar where you can play games, watch TV and just hang out. An optional evening activity is to sit around a fire in their outdoor firepit. Andy, the innkeeper, is most accommodating. Ask and you shall receive. This was a unique and special experience. Skip Woodstock which is overcrowded and stay here! We loved the Augusta Saint-Gardens National Historic Park which is 5 minutes away.

My wife and I spent a wonderful afternoon, evening and morning at Windsor Mansion. Our host was very helpful both with in house amenities and finding a lovely restaurant in Windsor VT. The Mansion being a period building and with lots of history is in itself worth the visit. Our host made accommodations for my wife's allergies for our lovely breakfast. The rooms were furnished and decorated in a period style, with modern facilities. The Mansion is definitely a place we will return to and stay longer when we are next in the area.

It’s a beautiful inn in gorgeous surroundings. So much history in this place. Andy is the innkeeper and I think there’s nothing that man can’t do. He is very knowledgeable about the inn and the area is is happy to help out and answer questions. He doesn’t say it but I feel like he nearly single-handedly keeps the place running. Thanks for making our adventure even more special!

Clean room and facilities. The mansion and grounds had a nice kind of guilded vibe to it, while still feeling homey and welcoming, like stepping back in time 60 years or so. A very decent breakfast was offered as well. Most of all, it was the proprietor, Andy, that made the stay so easy and comfortable. Very nice guy. Whatever one needed, he was there to accommodate. We really lucked out this time.

This is our third visit to Windsor Mansion Inn. We stayed here 22 years ago and again last year. We were looking for a very special place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Remembering how wonderful our stay was last year and how perfectly Andy took care of the choice was obvious. Andy did not disappoint. He went out of his way to make us feel special. Even with a full house he made us feel like we were the only ones there. Breakfast every morning was delicious. The seatings were scattered so Andy was able to provide personal service to each of the guests. One of the nights the fire pit was lit, and Andy provided marshmallows with chocolate already in them, so the chocolate was melted when the marshmallow was heated. He had great suggestions for things to do and see as well as great suggestions for dining. The Inn is gorgeous, and the view is hard to beat. The history of the inn is amazing too. Thank you, Andy, for making our stay amazing.

On our way home from Northern Vermont to Phila. We decided to stay the night and break the trip up. Lucky for us there was a cancellation at the Windsor Mansion and we were able to get a room. We stayed in the Evarts Suite which was beautifully and serenely decorated in period design with updated bathroom and very comfortable bedding overlooking the patio and wedding veranda. Our host Andy was extremely accommodating and informative about the area and where to eat. We were Pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the whole experience was. Windsor Mansion is a real gem!
