We found this lovely B&B Farm in Vermont. The room was warm and inviting. A perfect place for a little R&R with an absolutely delicious country-style breakfast, beautifully served with an awesome homemade jam! The views are stunning too. A perfect way to start off on a New Day's Adventure! The proprietors, Patti and Bill are the kindest most welcoming people you would ever want to meet!! We highly recommend this B&B!!

I was nervous about going away by myself. As soon as I arrived at Shearer Hill Farm I felt welcome and was made to feel very comfortable and at home. While visiting I became more and more comfortable as I got to know the hosts Bill and Patti. I would recommend this B& B to anyone looking for a clean comfortable place in a beautiful part of Vermont.

We were 4 friends staying the weekend to ski Mt Snow. Super great and easy access for the location. Bill and Patti made us feel welcomed with their great hospitality. The hand picked baked apples and farm fresh eggs were great!!! I will be returning soon!!

We stayed one night here. We wish it had been longer. The hosts, Bill and Patti, treat you like family. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. We enjoyed chatting with the other guests at breakfast. Patti is a wealth of information and graciously shares great tips. The property is gorgeous. After breakfast, we went out to the pasture and fed the cows some apples from the farm. It was a highlight of our trip. We highly recommend this property and understand why they have so many repeat customers.

My mom and I stayed for a couple of nights and could not have asked for a better stay. Patricia was The most accommodating host. She helped us with suggestions for places to visit and eat. The room was comfortable and had all we needed. The grounds are beautiful and we especially enjoyed visiting the animals on the property. Definitely will recommend to others and hope to be back ourselves!

Short and sweet, charming experience.Lovely room and house. Lots of board games. Check out the vintage "roadhouse" juke box. More to the point, it was a privilege to meet Patti and Bill, albeit for too short a time. I'm better for knowing them. Did I mention the incredible baked apple and ice cream for breakfast openers?
P.S. Take home some raspberry jam and maple syrup. Seriously.

My husband and I stayed at Shearer Hill Farm when we were in town for a friend's wedding. What a wonderful place to stay! Our room was very quaint and homey, and immaculate. Additionally, the innkeepers, Bill and Patti, couldn't have been nicer, kinder people. It was truly a pleasure to meet them. The breakfast was absolutely fabulous - baked apples with maple syrup, coffee and muffins. And the conversation was lovely. Also, the fact that it is a real working farm adds so much to the charm. We could look out the window of our room and see the cows out in the field. I can't wait to go back with my children because I know they will get such a kick out of it. I'm so glad that we discovered Shearer Hill Farm, and I am very much looking forward to going back!

My husband, eight year old son, and I recently stayed the night at the "farm" on our 2 week trip through New England. We stayed in a different B & B each evening from Rhode Island, up the coast to Maine, and returned inland through Vermont. This was the only disappointment of our entire vacation. Checking in was extremely awkward. The owners were not available and the designee was less than enthusiastic about our arrival. We had to hunt her down. The accomodations were HOTand stuffy, with no air circulation, making sleep difficult. The towels smelled of mildew. The sheets were ancient and had been darned with patches. No beverages - not even bottled water - were made available. The common room possessed VHS tapes for our entertainment. Wow! We were so uncomfortable, we chose to leave as quickly as we could in the morning - opting to skip the breakfast. We are not "prissy" people, but for the cost of this stay, we did expect a few more amenities. I would never recommend this B & B to anyone. There was nothing charming to be found.

Living in Boston, we find that Southern Vermont is just within easy reach, roughly 2 hours away. So we've done a lot of exploring in the Brattleboro/Wilmington/Marlboro area, and ever since we discovered Shearer Hill Farm, it's been our first choice. It's a real farm, which our 7-year-old loves, but there's plenty of space to lounge around, including a hammock tied to two apple trees. The room was immaculate and comfortable, the hosts and hospitality everything the other reviewers said. I guess if you don't like baked apples and ice cream for breakfast, there might be something wrong here, but it turns out that we do, we do, we do.

Bill and Patti are excellent hosts, they could not have been more warm or welcoming. They are very knowledgeable about the area, and had great recommendations when asked. I was traveling with my husband, seven year old son, and nine year old daughter, and my children absolutely loved staying here! They had so much fun that we had trouble getting them to leave the bed and breakfast to do other things! My daughter celebrated her birthday during our stay, and they even sang happy birthday to her at breakfast and gave her a gift. We can't wait to return.
