We were renting property in the area. We arrived the evening before and decided to stay at the White House Inn. Good choice. The inn is majestic, immaculately maintained with an all-around pleasant feel to it. Situated atop a hill, the views of the town of Wilmington were amazing. The dinner was fantastic and the wine was memorable. The heck... More

This has been the third or fourth time that I have stayed at this inn and the first since their renovation lat summer. The comfort of the room we stayed in (one of the loft rooms with an upstairs bedroom and downstairs sleep sofa) could easily accommodate two or more guests. My sister and I greatly enjoyed our dinner and... More

All of the staff was incredibly welcoming, showing us around the establishment and upgrading us to a room with a view, for the perfect sunset. We learned a little about the history of the house and they have tried to respect this history while brining it into the 21st c century. They accepted our little suggestions, like changing the antique... More

Beautifully appointed turn of the century mansion with much history. Decor is beautifully restored and elegant and wanted to preview as we read they offered a nice brunch on Sunday's. Reviews the menu and It is interesting and very reasonable compared to other Wilmington/Dover fine dining establishments. We decided to have a drink at the bar as the seats were... More

We stumbled upon this place just looking for a long weekend getaway and all I can say is it was a very happy accident. We were looking for a nice place to unwind on our anniversary weekend and this was exactly what the doctor ordered. The Inn is just stunning from the outside . The Inn is perched on a... More

From the moment we walked into the White House Inn we were impressed. Every staff member went out of their way to be friendly and welcoming. Room 5 was beautiful, complete with a very comfortable king bed and a brand new bathroom. We were fortunate to see the hidden stairway and get to check out the gorgeous new wine cellar... More

This charming hilltop inn was the perfect backdrop for a wedding we photographed last year. The couple was married in the flower garden out back and the reception was held throughout the ground level. Cocktail hour, held on the patio, overlooked the town below. The bridal suite was cozy, complete with French doors that let out on to the second... More

The new restaurant at White house Inn is not worth a dining night out . My wife and I had dinner there on Saturday night. The food was cold and fish was old it smelled. I was afraid to eat it and get SICK... .We told the server but it went to deaf ears . The new owners and management... More

Three of us ate here at the end of MLK weekend. We started with drinks and snacks in the sunken bar. The margaritas were perfection. Jack is a very professional bartender who will happily make you whatever you want and do it well. The deviled eggs are crave worthy. We then moved to the dining room. We ordered the 64... More

The Inn has recently been purchased by The Hermitage Club and appears to be in the renovation process which is good, because it needs it! The room was nice and the bathroom updated but . . . the tile work was shabby with grout spatters, the hardwood florrs need to be cleaned and refinished. The Inn smelled old and musty,... More

Thank you for staying with us at The White House recently. You’re absolutely right, the Inn was in desperate need of some TLC, and boy is it going to get it! The good news is that what you saw was just phase 1 which we are finalizing now. In phase 2, starting soon, the entire basement level is undergoing a... More
