I wish I could say lovely things about the Windham Hill Inn, but, unfortunately, they have been nothing but unresponsive and inefficient when it has come to refunding us the $500 we're owed for the cancellation of our reservation due to Covid. We have been trying to get this refund since Sept. and Peggy, the innkeeper, keeps making excuses like the accounting department is overwhelmed with requests. If this is how they treat people whose reservation was cancelled over a month ago thru no fault of their own, I can't say I would recommend it for a stay either, when they do re-open.
A wonderful and cozy weekend at the Windham Hill Inn! This Inn is picturesque. Throughout our stay we were very impressed with our interactions with the staff, meals at The Speckled Hen, and our delightful room. We went on several snowshoe excursion on the miles of trail systems! We would unwind at the end of the day with a relaxing soak in the tub, curling up by the fire with a good book, and borrowing one of the many games (scrabble, monopoly, Yahtzee) they had available. It was a great way for us to recharge!
I was looking for lodging close to Southern Vermont specifically for skiing at Stratton and that offered EV charging. I found a Vermont EV web site that mentioned that Windham Hill Inn had EV charging. They have very good options for EV owners! (see pictures). I arrived toward the end of dinner yet the chef was very nice to whip up a fantastic meal! Wine selections is very good. Charming inn as others have mentioned with super nice accommodations. A recently snow fall made it that much more special sitting by the fireplace in the evening. After a stressful week inn got me relaxed very quickly.
Really great and cozy B&B. This is a legit, clean B&B with a delicios breakfast (not some continental breakfast). Warm and friendly staff. The snow shoe trails on the property were great, and the property is close enough to local ski mountain. Really great experience.
After a long busy Holiday Season my wife and I were looking for a nice quiet place to get away! This place was exactly what we were looking for. The staff was wonderful and our room was perfect. The chef (Neal) made us an amazing dinner. We were hoping to do some cross country skiing, however, 65 degree weather didnt provide the best conditions. We're looking forward to returning real soon.
We spent a great ( and very warm) weekend at the Windham Hill Inn this past week. Although ready for snow shoeing, the 60 degree temps in January allowed us to take a great hike in the woods and meadow with fleece vests and long sleeve tee shirts!!! Not our usual near 0 degree temps!!! The staff is always welcoming and friendly and our dining and wine selection experience was excellent. Peggy and Neal both do a great job for all WHI guests. Looking forward to our next visit.
Just visited (again) for a 30-something anniversary with my wife. This is our Go-To place. I wish we could go here annually as it is a magical and special location. This is an old new england style family farm that was converted to an Inn a long time ago (our first visit was over 20 years). The charm, warmth and location are beyond description. Rooms range from cozy to roomy but all are impeccably decorated and maintained. Many rooms have tubs and fireplaces. The staff here is very accommodating and you generally only see the if you want or need something - otherwise you are left alone to enjoy the location. This place is remote. There are not a lot of other things to see or do in the immediate area but a 30 minute drive will get you to mountains for hiking and skiing, outlet malls, and much more. Hiking trails on the property may be the only thing you need.... The restaurant and food is exquisite! Breakfast is often included in the room and some packages include a dinner as well. The menu for all meals is simple but elegant. Dining here is amazing - if not just a little "high-end". If you are a wine snob - don't worry - they will have several options to please anybody! I look forward to going again....…
great experience; wonderful staff and location. beautiful lodge with comfortable rooms. we had two dinners there and they were really excellent with creative food and great taste. excellent recommandation for the wine. the two breakfasts were also great. we will return with pleasure
My wife and I have returned to Windham Hill Inn several times since our first stay 25 years ago. The accommodations, the food, the scenery - they are all spectacular! While the Inn is off the beaten path (which is absolutely part of the allure!), it is still within a very easy drive of Stratton Mountain and scenic Manchester.
First time staying at Windham Hill Inn and we had a wonderful stay. The room, the dinner walked around the grounds. My wife even went into the heated pool. It was very relaxing and we can't wait till the next visit. Thank you for such a wonderful and relaxing stay. Ann & Al M.
