This place really is just falling apart and if not for the location would probably have shut down by now. The most concerning thing I noticed was the fire escape is blocked by a giant mound of ice at the bottom of the stairs. Made me start thinking about what else is wrong with the building that I didn't see - wiring/fire hazard, mold etc. It's also super loud (you can hear your neighbor's pee) and there's one router in the whole place so no wifi in the rooms.
A great little quaint place at the bottom of Mount Snow. It’s the closest Inn to the mountain. The tram stops right behind the Inn for the 2 minute ride to slopes. Now let’s be clear this is a aged Inn that’s been around a long time. It’s clean but very antique like. If your looking for the Marriott this is not the place for you but if your looking for nice caretakers, clean rooms, and the best access to the slope this is it.
Just accolades for the Inn. Very hospitable and accommodating. To the contrary of the EmilyH's tripadvisor opinion. Las, note that the Ritz hotel (Marriott) brand has been disintegrating for quite some time. gent with son hooligans, not England.
My son and I stayed the night to ski Mt. Snow. We both enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable with a good view of the mountain. Everything was easy and the proprietors were very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was self-serve (which I prefer) continental, with plenty of cereals yoghurts, good quality bagels (not the usual generic store type), oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, etc., ...and hot chocolate (which was enough to make it a success with my son). Great value and perfect for our short ski trip. I will definitely come back for our next ski trip here.
Aside from the very strange check-in process, the beds are NOT sleep-able - a sleeping bag would have been better! No extra blankets or pillows (even in January). The walls are extremely thin and you can hear everything that is going on in your neighbors rooms. The bright light outside our room's window illuminated our room the entire night. There are no TV's in your rooms, so forget about being snowed in. The room doors are similar to a bedroom door, only 1 lock on the handle, no deadbolt or chain inside so it did not feel secure either. The house is also very very old, which means it is loud and creaky at night - especially when the heat is on in the winter. This typically is not an issue for me, but if you are already struggling to sleep then it will get under your skin even more. We did not sleep a wink all night, literally have never had such a bad experience. We ended up turning around and driving the 5 hours home as soon as the sun came up. Was not issued a refund for the days we did not stay, the manager's explanation is that it was, "not their fault." I did not bother pushing it any further as the "manager" is not concerned with customer service or reputation. A HUGE waste of money and time. I wish I could just forget about this horrible experience. Very disappointing for a holiday weekend we were looking forward to. SAVE YOURSELF A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE and don't bother with this dump.…
This is the only place I stay when skiing Mount Snow. Others have already elaborated on how wonderful it is so I will just reiterate: clean, comfy, inviting, perfect skiers’ breakfast, and fabulous location! Owners Sharon and Bill take excellent care of their guests to ensure every stay is a positive experience. Will return soon!
Location: Excellent for skiing at Mt. Snow. Route 100 between the North and South access roads. Can see the mountain from the rear of the Inn. Rear exit from the parking lot behind the Inn leads to back road which connects to the access roads. Five minutes (if that) to the parking lot of the mountain. Accommodations: room (Garden Room #3) very spacious and bright and cheery. Queen size bed. Decent mattress. Good size en suite bath with more than enough fluffy towels. Small personal TV (although huge screen TV in common lounge area). All very clean. Breakfast: continental, leaving a bit to be desired, but sufficient quantity. Consisted almost exclusively of carbs: white and wheat bread, variety of bagels, toaster waffles, store-bought, individually-wrapped muffins, cold cereal in individual boxes, oatmeal pouches (just add hot water); yogurt, three juices, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk. Monday morning there were hard boiled eggs. Tuesday morning, no eggs. When we asked about the eggs, the inn keeper said his order didn't arrive until Thursday. What? Someone can't go to the local market for a few dozen eggs? Wednesday morning, some bananas showed up. No fresh fruit before then. So breakfast was a mixed bag. Adequate for our needs, though. Summary: if you aren't looking for a hot, cooked to order gourmet breakfast, definitely lodging to consider. In fact, of the three places we've stayed in West Dover over the past three years, this is the one to which we would return.…
We have been going to mount snow for a few years now and every time stay at different locations, until this last trip we were lucky to have stayed at the Inn. Staff was very helpful and super friendly, place was cozy and spotless clean. The location is fenomenal, literally across the street from the mountain. We stayed at a suite with a beautiful view from the slopes. This place became our go to spot, no more trying out new places.
First off, I’ll start out by saying that check in for the Inn is at 4pm on arrival and check out is at 10am! Both perfect times because Mount Snow closes at 4 then reopens back in the morning around 8-9am depending on the day! Anyways, the Inn itself is amazing and feel just like home! The owners are amazing and always helpful! There is a common room once you walk in with a gas fireplace that is constantly going throughout the night! There is also small little kitchen area with a microwave and a mini fridge if drinks need to be cold for the morning! Next to that, there is a play area that consists of board games and a pool table if you’re in the mood for a friendly competition! Furthermore, the room itself is basic, but perfect for a couple nights of stay! The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is spotless! The breakfast in the morning is simple, but a good way to start the day off if headed to the mountain early! I believe the breakfast starts at 7:30 and ends around 9:30 so don’t miss out.. Overall my experience at the Inn at Mount Snow was exactly what I was looking for in a 2 day trip of Skiing! Glad I choose this location and 100% will be back soon!…
Last-minute we called, asked for a specific room (a friend offered a hint) and voila! The price was right too. A working fireplace in our room, comfortable bed and a view of the mountain -- what more can you ask?! A simple breakfast was provided and off to ski. And, there are more basic bedroom accommodations if that's what your needs are. If you have kids, there's a generous rec room with board games and a TV (and a fireplace). For the bigger kids, there's a reg size pool table -- next to a small kitchen. The owners couldn't be more helpful. A nice value is what I always look for and this place qualifies. On the downside, it is a bit tired, but, that's easily overlooked if you're not too fussy.
