We are a family owned and operated bed and breakfast located on picturesque Route 100 in Southern Vermont. When you call you will reach Cary and Eamon and we are happy to assist in booking your stay. We are less than a mile from the slopes of Mount Snow/Carinthia and fewer than 20 minutes to Stratton Mountain Resort. We offer a full Vermont breakfast cooked to order. During the summer months we offer an outdoor pool to cool off and a hot tub for the winter months to relax after a day on the slopes. For the kid in all of us we have a large game room with pool, foosball and air hockey. On the main floor we offer a lounge area with a large wood burning stove. We are a registered stop on the free, local Moover Bus that can take you around town and in the winter directly to the Mount Snow chairlifts to avoid those pesky parking fees. We are the perfect location for families, a reunion or group gathering. We can tailor any event you might want to have to here at the Inn or have the opportunity to dine at any of the fine restaurants within walking distance of the Inn. Detailed Reviews
It's hard to put my finger on this place. It's like coming home, and I mean that literally. That feeling of walking through the front door, greeted by people who care and take care of the place they live and work in... that's how I've felt every time I stayed here. Carina the innkeeper and her family make every person who stays feel welcomed and at home. There are no TVs in the rooms. The WiFi is good enough to use your phone or tablet if you need the connection. But it's really about the disconnection in this particular place. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The beds are comfortable and clean. The rooms are for sleeping. The common area downstairs is the place to congregate. Sitting by the fire, learning about the best runs from strangers that open up and become friends. The breakfast in the morning is just gravy, a finishing touch to a perfect place to stay. Cooked fresh for each person it shows the lengths they go through for their trade. In a non covid year there is a heated pool and hot tub, though it's again just an added bonus. Carina and her staff make this place feel like coming home, and I plan on coming here as long as my knees allow we to hit the slopes

Three lifelong friends decide on a spur of a moment to go to Mount Snow in Vermont for a March Ski trip. Many places were already booked but we truly lucked out by finding this gem of an Inn. The location was key. We arrived early Friday evening as the snow began, parked our car for the weekend and we either walked to bars / restaurants or took the free Mooove shuttle bus to the mountain. The staff, including Natalia, were so friendly and helpful. The accommodations were rustic but were perfect for our needs and the price could not be beat. We walked to the Last Chair Bar and Grill for drinks and food Friday night. Fun place with 2 different bar scenes. Food was really good. The next morning after a full hearty breakfast at the Inn we jumped on the Mooove bus to the mountain for a day of skiing followed by drinks at the Station Tap Room then Cuzzins bar & grill which had a good band playing. We took the Mooove bus back to the Grey Ghost Inn and hit the hot tub before we went to dinner at Trail 87 for a delicious meal. We finished our weekend on Sunday with another full breakfast followed by more skiing before the long drive home. A wonderful weekend that we will definitely repeat again next year.

I stayed at the Inn in January of 2024 with a group of senior skiers for a mid-week trip. We all enjoyed the common room in the evenings for snacks and games. The room was spacious and very comfortable.
A hearty breakfast with choice of eggs, pancakes, toast and juice was offered each morning.
On this occasion, my first, all of the guests were friendly and polite, making it an enjoyable week.
The Moover, a shuttle service, is available to take you to the ski area and parts of southern Vermont with several different routes.
The owners are a young family, and are very friendly and knowledgeable.
I highly recommend staying here any time you are in the area.

+1
Grey Ghost Inn is a nice, cozy inn with a great location. It is low cost and clean. The inn keeper, Carina, called to ask when I will be arriving. I told her probably 5 or 6 PM.
My only issues I had with the place was upon arrival and the check-in process. I arrived at about 5:20ish but no one was at the front desk. I called through open door leading to the back room but to no avail. I rang the doorbell on the front desk twice but nothing. I walked down the hall and found Carina. I paid to stay but before finishing she interrupted my conversation and went to have a conversation with a man checking a whole bus full of people out without apologizing and saying she is going to finish up with him so the bus can be on their way. She just turned away from me with no words as if I wasn’t there. I finished paying and she then started to help the person behind me without finishing with me - no room key, nothing about breakfast, nothing. When I said something, she said she is going to check in the other couple and take us to our room at the same time. Fine, no problem, but it would have been nice if she said that. This was the end of my problems with Grey Ghost. The whole rest of my two night stay was perfect.
She gave us a tour of the place, told us about breakfast, took us to our room. The room was standard and clean. At night for my two nights I was there I sat in the living room in front of the fire which was utilized by many guests. People just hung around talking and laughing in front of the fire. Carina did come through periodically and check on how everyone was doing.
Breakfast was good. Both days we had a choice of eggs any style and one day we can choose French toast, the other day pancakes. Both days we can choose sausage, bacon, toast, and all kids of juices, coffee, and tea. Breakfast was good.
The entire inn has free WiFi and there is a phone charging station in the living room/dining area.

We got there on the first day of our reservation in Jan of 2024 and our room was ice cold (temp outside was in the teens). I spoke with one of the owners twice over an hour and the room temp didn't get any warmer. We thought maybe it needed time to warm up so we skipped showers and went to dinner. When we came back, no improvement. We spoke to the other owner but still no heat!
We hardly slept- in spite of sleeping in several layers of clothes and all the blankets and coats we could find we never felt remotely warm.
The next morning we told the owners we were leaving because there was no heat and we'd like a refund for the 4 nights remaining in our reservation. They wouldn't grant it. They mentioned they would if they filled the room but we never heard from them again.
We were pretty disappointed.

The property is a great option for a ski trip to Mt. Snow. Helpful and present owner/operator. Big property with great common spaces. Huge hot tub. Game room with a pool table, fusball, air hockey, and pinball machines. Nice big fireplace with couches to lounge on. Huge dining room in which to enjoy the included breakfast, which was excellent (eggs, potatoes, pancakes, coffee, tea, etc.). The room was very basic and very small, but the beds were comfortable enough. Bathroom was worn and tiny, but passable. The floors and walls are thin so it can be a little loud. It's also right on a busy road so road noise can be very noticeable. They won't win any awards for plush renovated rooms, but given the value proposition, I'd definitely go back.

My family was up there for a ski get away at Mount Snow. The staff was friendly and the made to order breakfast was delicious. The rooms are quaint and exactly what we needed. TV in the great room downstairs with board games and quiet area to sit. Downstairs in the basement had a ping pong table, pool table, air hockey games. The Inn is about a mile away from Mount Snow and other restaurants in the area.

The room was dated, no frills but very clean with extremely comfortable beds. When we stayed, the internet was out & the hot tub was being replaced. Day 1 my kids complained about the internet & lack of tvs in the room. By the end of the trip, we were all very happy. We spent more time together, played board games together, and actually got to bed early with the lack of screen time. Breakfast was delicious and fresh - great coffee.
They also allow dogs to stay - just a heads up if you have little ones who are afraid.

I should start this review by saying how nice the people that work here are. If I needed coffee or help with anything they were right there with smiles on their faces. The gray ghost is only a few miles down the road from Mount Snow and a little food market. The rooms are comfortable and quaint with no TVs so you get the true ski experience the living room and dining area are really nice to hang out and always nice people there, and the breakfast is amazing.
I Gray Ghost Inn is without a doubt our number one spot to stay in when we ski mount snow.. the Grahams

I just returned from a Road Scholar “bridge camp” at the Gray Ghost Inn in West Dover, Vermont. It was so much fun! Edward Scanlon, our instructorwas a fabulous teacher. Without a doubt one of the best teachers of intermediate Bridge. He found a perfect balance between humor and being what he calls himself: a “drill sergeant”. Edward knows how to work a crowd. He kept reminding us all week to keep an open mind and be willing to learn new ideas and thoughts on playing this intriguing, ever-changing and challenging game of bridge. I listened, I learned and I can’t wait to go back again next year to the Gray Ghost Inn. I would definitely give Edward a gold medal for being a great teacher.
I would definitely encourage anyone to visit the Gray Ghost Inn. Cary and Eamon along with their two beautiful children are the consummate hosts. They are a delightful young couple who both go “above and beyond” to help you enjoy your visit. They made us feel as if we were welcome guests in their home. They are working on remodeling and making it a warm venue to enjoy. Whether you go for bridge or just to have a relaxing atmosphere to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, you’ll be glad you did. I’m pretty certain winter skiers would enjoy the majesty of calmness there after a day on the slopes as well.
As a Bed and Breakfast , it’s a cozy, comfortable and enjoyable Inn. The poached eggs were perfectly done everyday. Thank you to a great chef! The staff all wear more than one hat and interchange as both housekeeping and wait staff, and they want you to enjoy your stay too.
Corina, the former owner of the Inn, is a support system for the Cary and Eamon. You can tell she has fallen in love with the Duane family. Corina has encouraged the new owners to continue her commitment to Road Scholar and is very much apart of this grand experience. If you can find a reason, anyway reason, to stay at the Gray Ghost Inn, do it! If it’s one of Edward Scanlon’s bridge camps it will be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
