The Inn is very cozy, the owners are incredibly friendly, and the breakfast is great. What else could you want? The fireplaces were an especially nice touch as it snowed outside. Also, the Inn is close to Mountains if that's what you're looking for, so you're able to make it on the hill in no time. Highly recommended.

We just had dinner at the Hermitage Inn and had a terrible meal while sitting at the bar. The bar tender was disgusting and used his hands to reach into the olive jar when he made a martini for my wife. The $55 piece of salmon was a joke it was so small. It was a complete disappointment. We will not be going back there again.

My husband and I spent our anniversary at the Hermitage Inn! We can't wait to go back. The attention of detail at the inn was unparalleled. The rooms could not have been cozier and had everything you'd need. (Dyson hair dryers, tooth brushes/paste, monogrammed plush robes and slippers etc) We also had an awesome private wine tasting in their cellar followed by dinner upstairs. Everything was perfection!

We enjoyed our experience but I wouldn’t necessarily go back for dinner. I think a hamburger at the bar with their delicious cocktails is sufficient. Nice to have admittance to the zhernitsge now that James Barnes ownership has passed on to its members but I prefer Two Tannery in the Valley for this price point.

We stayed at the Hermitage Inn for two evenings. The rooms are well appointed. The staff is friendly. The venue is quiet and serene. This inn is great for couples but may not be appropriate for families. The restaurant is very good. The food was perfectly prepared and the staff was friendly, informative and efficient. This is a great inn for a couples weekend away.

Service was professional and friendly, food was disappointing. French Onion Soup may have had their claimed excellent broth, but that’s where it finished. It was lacking the bread, recognizable onion, or more then a thin slice of cheese. Too delicate for my pallet. Wedge salad was a good choice. The menu is very limited and this time of your they don’t offer the price fixe menu. The rest of my meal was just as underwhelming as the soup. Cocktails were good. Decor is very pleasant, but food overall is better elsewhere in the Valley. I wouldn’t avoid it, but I would not dine there again uninvited.

We had not been to Hermitage since before the pandemic. We had an outstanding meal from the price fixed menu. Excellent cocktails and a nice wine list. The service was excellent and the dining room was lovely. Good pacing to the meal. Vermont inn dining at its best. Probably the best meal we’ve had in 20 years coming to this part of Vermont.

We stayed at this property in 2009 and 2010 and loved the experience. Over the years we stayed elsewhere in VT when the property changed hands and eventually fell into disrepair. The Inn is now under new ownership and our visit was just superb. We stayed in The Carriage House this time around and the accommodation was excellent. Our room provided all the amenities one would expect at a five star resort albeit at a reduced cost. Breakfast was included in the rate and served in the Tavern. Items included freshly baked muffins, pastries, yogurts, incredibly fresh fruits, smoked salmon/charcuterie platter, eggs, etc. Dinner in the Tavern was so yummy; meals that come to mind include the pasta of the day, the delicious artic char and corn risotto dish. We highly recommend The Hermitage Inn and look forward to our next visit!

Mary Lou and Tim Ricci have outdone themselves with their renovation on this classic, beloved Inn. We are all so grateful to have this special place up and running, better than it has ever before. The food is spectacular!! Every bite of anything you order is a WOW, and their attention to great wines, specialty cocktails and service is equally as impressive. They continue to add to the property to make things special, such as more firepits, expanded outdoor seating, a massage room and soon the Sugar House will be a gym for Inn guests. Whether you are sitting inside or out, this place is magical. We are so grateful!!!!

I stayed for 5 days at the Hermitage Inn with my boyfriend. I booked a room in the Carriage House and it was wonderful! We came when things were quiet so my boyfriend and I were literally the only ones staying at the inn until our last day! We had the Carriage House (and the property) all to ourselves and it was amazing! Our room was large, beautiful, and newly renovated with a lovely fireplace and a big flat screen TV. We had breakfast delivered to us every morning, which included delicious meats, cheese, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, muffins, scones, crackers and orange juice. Even though we were alone the inn keepers were always available to us and promptly replied to any questions or requests we had. Since we were the only people there the owners graciously invited us to a free lunch at the restaurant (which is delicious, BTW) to test out the menu before opening. The property itself is beautiful and in a lovely little town. I was so pleased with my stay and with service provided. I can't wait to go back!
