Grunberg Haus reminded me of a number of homey B&Bs that I've visited in Canada - this isn't glamping, there are no TVs, the wi-fi only works in the common area. But if your aim is to enjoy nature, like the beautiful bird watching through a huge bank of windows at breakfast or snowshoeing, or to reconnect with your loved... More

A group from Classic Bike Experience in Essex Vt held their annual "celebration of motorcycles and friendship" dinner at Grunberg Haus recently. My son and I were present. I can't imagine a more beautiful location for a get together. Its warm, immaculate, and classic Vermont in every way- including the hosts Jeff and Linda who are genuine good company

We are somewhat local. We live about a half our away. Our house was torn up for the painters so we wanted to get out. The inn is rustic but very clean. The room we had was huge, with a small balcony. The bed was firm and very comfortable. The atmosphere is homey. The hosts, Linda a Jeff, are really... More

Friendly rustic charm - great service and a warm welcome from the hosts The hotel is like German country lodge, and wouldnt look out of place in the Alps. The rooms are not fancy , but are comfortable, warm , and finishd in country syle with lots of bare wood. Views are of the local forests and hills

We were lucky to find any lodging within striking distance when we decided to visit our son at Norwich University at the last minute. The drive to-from campus was a bit longer than we wished but the accommodations more than made up for it! Jeff and Linda could not have made us feel more welcome. We stayed in two cabins... More

We stayed for one night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Jeff and Linda had excellent suggestions of places to go (wish we had more time). The bed was comfy. The breakfast was delicious (maple poached pears and apple sauce pancakes!) Coffee was decent. The house is slanted which just adds to the charm. All of the rooms lead out to a... More

Jeff and Linda were the perfect owners/hosts and made it easy to love this place. The B&B is isolated but that is part of the charm. No TV and, typically, internet connection can only be obtained in the living room. That facilitated meeting and talking with wonderful people from all over....again part of the charm of this place! Linda prepared... More

We stayed for one night. It's a unique cabin in the woods and offers some rustic German charm. Breakfast was fresh fruit, homemade bread, and French toast. But the walls are very thin. There was no hair dryer or locks on the door. Also the wifi did not work. I think some people might enjoy it but we probably won't... More

This was the perfect Vermont lodge experience on our loop trip around New England! It's an older lodge building, with no TV or phones in the rooms, and WiFi only in the living room. Each room has a small balcony. Our room was small but very comfortable--& from our balcony, we saw 3-4 species of birds & many chipmunks! Downstairs... More
