We stayed here during an eventful Columbus Day Weekend in the Mad River Valley! The inn provided the perfect haven and backdrop for a weekend spent hiking Mad River Glenn, attending the Waitsfield Farmer's Market and drinking (literally) in all that the valley had to offer. Kim and Bob are such gracious hosts. They knew the valley so well and were so friendly and fun! Kim's breakfasts would make even Gordon Ramsay cheer! The puff pancake with marscapone and fresh berries was A-mazing. The room was exactly what one would expect at a beautiful inn: fluffy pillows, down comforter, large private bath... We will definitely be back!
Staying at Beaver Pond is like staying with friends ... who happen to own a lovely and comfortable rambling home in a gorgeous location. Kim's breakfasts are delicious (still thinking about the mascapone- and berry-topped puffed pancake) and ample to keep you fueled through a day of exploring the area.
This is our fourth trip to the Beaver Pond Farm Inn, and we had a fantastic experience from the delicious breakfast, the warm and welcoming hostess and the clean and comfortable accommodations. We were fortunate enough to score reservations during peak leafpeeping time -- breathtaking views from the back deck. Also the location is conveniently located to great shopping and restaurants. It is also right down the street from Sugarbush Mountain for those wishing to ski, hike or just enjoy the views from the facilities atop the Mountain. Kim was more than happy to help us with reservations and recommendations to make our stay there fun and entertaining. Kim can consider us not only satisfied customers but repeat customers for years to come!
We chose the Beaver Pond Farm B&B because we wanted to be leafpeepers! It was an excellent choice. We were too soon for the foliage but the B&B was lovely. it's beautifully appointed, neat & clean. We enjoyed all the small towns and stores Kim recommended. For myself Kim became the attraction! She was knowledgeable about the area and so very welcoming. I felt like I was visiting a dear friend. I would ignore the 2 bad reviews. After reading them I'm pretty sure that was about them and not Kim!! We experienced not one of their complaints!
After reading all the great reviews I was really perplexed with our visit. We were barely given a tour of the home. We were shown to our rooms and that was it. When we came home from dinner the other guest dirty wine glasses and empty bottle was still sitting on the coffee table , which felt uninviting to other guests. The shower sprayed door where opened and the shower head needed to be cleaned. The granola was good. The bacon was burned and the pancake was way too rich. It would have been nice to have had an option. The best part of our stay was talking to the other guests until Kim came out of the kitchen to talk with a guest and over the top of our conversation.
