This is a great place to come for a family vacation, especially if you have kids between about 5 and 12 years old. We noticed many family groups comprising three generations. Kids will love the outdoor activities, Mom and Dad will enjoy them too while having a relaxing time. The food is excellent and the service is outstanding. The biggest... More

When I first arrived at the Basin Harbor Club, I was excited because it reminded me of a much smaller "American Plan Resort" I stayed in the North Woods of Wisconsin. The difference here is that BHC is much bigger, much fancier, much pricier, and did not have the local charm I was hoping for. The food was average at... More

We chose Basin Harbor Club literally while driving down the freeway after other vacation plans fell through. We knew we wanted to stay on Lake Champlain, having been in the area before. We booked through booking.com and something went wrong with the reservation--we are a family of five and somehow had ended up with a cabin with one king-sized bed.... More

I came for a 3 night stay with my 2 children (7&9) and our Labrador. As a single Mom, it can be quite daunting to think of taking the whole family on vacation by myself but this resort appeared to offer everything I was looking for so I decided to give it a try! We were in Northway 4 which... More

We just returned from a two-day stay. It's a lovely place with lots to do. The staff is wonderful. If you like the predictability of hotel chains, this would not be the place for you. The cabins are a little dated, but very charming. The food at the main dining room was very good, but less so at The Red... More

I just returned from a great family vacation to the Basin Harbor Club. The BHC is a classic resort, located in a beautiful part of the country. I loved this place for a number of reasons. It's old-school - the hotel is part of the historic hotels of America, and many of the guest cottages are old stone or wood... More

I was at Basin Harbor for a week-long conference. It is a truly special place. Incredible service, beautiful location overlooking the lake and mountains, and amazing staff. I stayed in one of their separate suite cottages. Very wonderful! This is one of the best places I have ever stayed! In the same family for 5 generations and very special. Friendly,... More

this place is reminicent of the scenes from Dirty Dancing movie.....built in the early 1900's it begged for a relaxing area and stay.......you can walk, play golf, relax , swim and boat if you so desire. The eating facilities were first class and you didn't have to walk, as they had golf carts everywhere at your disposal.........this is the place... More

MANY years ago while vacationing on Lake Champlain we passed BHC by boat. I swore I would get there some day and I finally did. Why did I wait so long?! Yes, it is a historic hotel so don't expect big marble bathrooms, tv in rooms, or elevators. What you can expect is superlative service, a beautiful setting on the... More

Thank you for telling the world how much you enjoyed your visit to Basin Harbor! You are right that this isn't the place for people who are looking for glitz and glamour, and you have captured the magic of the property. We look forward to your speedy return. I stayed here for a conference. My room was in the main lodge, and was okay except for the fact that it was right above the entrance where people tend to congregate and talk, so it was noisy, and that there were a lot of insects in my room (ants and spiders.) I did mention the insects at check-out so... More

We wish this guest had let us know about the insects in her/his room during her/his stay, as we would have taken care of them. We have coached the housekeeper to be more vigilant about getting rid of them. We apologize for failing to dispatch them. We are glad the guest enjoyed breakfast and found the wait staff attentive.
