My wife and I stayed at Applebutter to celebrate our babymoon and 2nd wedding anniversary and it was perfect. Halfway between downtown Woodstock and Quechee (~3 min drive to each) and a stones-throw from the Taftsville Covered Bridge that leads to Sugarbush Farm and the countryside. Jill and Don were super accommodating and welcoming and made some incredible breakfasts (quiches, pumpkin pancakes, etc.) Rooms were quaint, bed was very comfortable, and nice toiletries were provided. If you're looking to stay in a Vermont B&B like you see in the movies then this is the place for you.

The Applebutter Inn is a lovely and inviting inn. The owners, Jill and Don, spared no details to make us feel welcome and pampered. We stayed in the Cameo Room on the first floor and woke up each morning to freshly brewed coffee to start our day. The bed and linens were luxuriously comfortable and the antique furnishings on wide pine floors were inviting. The breakfasts and baked treats were delicious, with lovely presentation and plenty of variety throughout our stay. Jill and Don were very helpful with dinner reservations and suggestions for interesting places to visit. We enjoyed reading on the back porch that overlooks a perfectly manicured, lush shade garden. If we ever return to the Woodstock area, the Applebutter Inn would be our 1st choice for accommodations.

Lovely experience start to finish. The Applebutter Inn is an anomaly - a spacious B&B close to everything but in a secluded tiny village. It is one minute from a main road - but miles away from the noisy tourist vibe around it. There are several places to sit outdoors and simply relax. We had a private suite on the first floor with its own entrance - The Cameo Room. Very quiet, comfortable, inviting. Wood plank floors, fireplace, large bathroom, luxurious king bed. No one above or next to us. Jill and Don have thought of everything, from a guest refrigerator to a cupboard of wine glasses and accoutrements, to comfy reading chairs in the room. The breakfast here is incredible! (Also note: the hosts pay careful attention to allergies and food preferences.) The blueberry pancakes, hot off the griddle with local maple syrup or home made lemon curd cannot be adequately described. Served with yogurt, berries and scones, breakfast is a feast that changes every morning. (There is meat available for the carnivores.) All in all, I cannot think of a more comfortable place to stay in this area. HIGHLY recommend.

This was my first visit to a B&B and if all experiences are like this, it will not be my last. The place is delightful - clean, bright, and furnished perfectly. My room was welcoming and comfortable. Jill and Don are perfect hosts and the breakfast approached gourmet in taste and presentation, certainly not just a muffin and bowl of cereal. I highly recommend this gem of an Inn.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and at home. Jill and Don , the inn keepers, have thought of everything! Our room was spacious and immaculate as is the entire property. The bed was very comfortable and the peaceful surroundings allowed the perfect nights sleep. The common rooms were lovely and offered many options for relaxing at the end of the day. The breakfasts were delicious with three courses of creative and homemade goodness. We appreciated the self serve coffee at any time as we did the complimentary bottled water. There was even a fresh baked “ goodie” awaiting us on our return each day after our exploring. As our visit was during the fall there was plenty to see and do in the area. The inn keepers even supplied printouts with suggestions for hiking, drives, shopping , attractions, and restaurants. They were extremely helpful and all their suggestions were wonderful. We loved the location for its quiet surroundings yet close proximity to town and sightseeing. We would highly recommend staying at the Applebutter Inn Bed and Breakfast. We only hope we can return sooner than later! Thank you Jill and Don!

My Husband and I stayed here during our trip to Woodstock in October. The inn keepers were not only the nicest we have ever experienced, they were unbelievably accommodating, willing to help us with any requests we had. They really made us feel like we were a part of their family. The breakfasts were also delicious, and they did a great job of dealing with the new covid-19 protocols. Our room was very spacious with a working gas fireplace and skylight. We HIGHLY recommend staying here. It’s a great place to relax and/or explore Vermont.

I have stayed at many Bed & Breakfast and I must say that Jill & Don are at the top of my list for the most wonderful hosts. The inn was spotless and the breakfast we had on each of the mornings during our stay was delicious. The attention to precautions given due to covid-19 was immensely appreciated. The inn is also in a great location with a lot of room outside to relax. We stayed in the King David Room and really enjoyed the screened in porch. For winter the Royal Gala Room or the Cameo Room would be a great option.

My husband Eric and I visited Vermont during COVID and felt very safe and secure staying at the Applebutter Inn, in late July 2020. The entire place is immaculate and Jill and Don were wonderful, considerate hosts. They checked our dietary restrictions in advance and served delicious custom breakfasts. We will definitely be back!

Apple Butter Inn is one of the best bed and breakfasts myself and my husband have stayed at. The house is so very charming and quaint! The wide plank wood floors were authentic and gorgeous. I cannot rave enough about this inn, every room was inviting and warm. Innkeepers Jill and Don were very welcoming and friendly, they were truly authentic and accommodating. The breakfasts were phenomenal and I would love to wake up to those breakfasts every day. We have definitely found our go to place when we visit Vermont! I would highly recommend this inn to anyone that is looking for a great place to lay their head for a reasonable price. We will be visiting again soon. 💞

This is our "go-to" spot when skiing Killington. Yes, it's about 20ish minutes away, but nothing beats sitting by the fire at night with hot tea! Breakfasts are delicious and all homemade. For us, it's a great location away from all the craziness of Killington- plus we find that the restaurants in Woodstock are better. We will continue to return to this inn when we ski, as Jill and Don are exceptional hosts who keep a beautiful inn.
