We arrived "off season" for 2 day stay for Golf School. The staff was beyond helpful and nice. That's where it ends. The room was large but sparse. There was dust beyond dust on every flat surface. If you are going to only have a dozen guest stay at your hotel, I wouldn't think it's too much to ask to... More

Great spot for an over night stay. Clean, close to the action, fair priced. My family and I used this hotel several times this past ski season. Breakfast is part of the deal. Beds are clean and comfortable. Bathroom is ample with tub and shower. Just the right size room for 3 tired skiers with ski gear.

The condo which had 2 bedrooms was adequate and nice enough. The layout felt a little tight and the living area was small but there was an eat in kitchen and the bedrooms were fine. I was a little disappointed as my expectations were higher given it was a condo at Stratton which caters to a more affluent ski family.... More

My family stayed in room 144, "a superior room" April 9th and 10th. Appearance of place is dated. Thin walls and door, heard people in halls and above rooms walking and talking. Bathroom fan extra loud and ceiling cracking in bathroom. Room appearance not inviting. Beds old and worn linens. Heat baseboard pinging when on, baseboard radiator cover falling off.... More

Very outdated from the carpet at entrance. No ventilation in the bathroom makes in difficult when you have more than one person trying to get ready, we were there for a wedding! The food was very good. The shuttle service was great and John was terrific!

The lodge was nicer than I expected. We requested a renovated room, which was nice, and paid extra for the 2nd floor (light sleeper). I was very satisfied. The shuttle service worked well. We got in pretty late, and checked out early in the morning to ski, so not much to go by, but everything was nice. It's a do-able... More

My family and I stayed at the Black Bear Lodge while we competed and photographed the Vermont Open of Snowboarding. Trisha in guest services was so great and helpful. Every step of the way she had information and solutions to anything we needed. The BBL has a wonderful spa, game room and yoga studio. The breakfast is perfect when you... More

Just stayed at Black Bear Lodge midweek for 2 nights. My room was a single on the 3rd floor. Is the hotel a Hilton or Marriott? No, but it's a very nice hotel with nice employees right on the Mountain. Some people are comparing it to a Motel 6. I disagree. It's better than that. I would compare it to... More

I'm not sure what some other reviewers were unhappy with, but we thought the Black Bear Lodge was terrific. It certainly was not a "motel 6", which was used as a derogatory comparison in another commentator's post. No, the lodge may not be the most luxurious, 5 star, hotel some people expect, but it was a great value, close to... More

I booked this place wanting to be close to the mountain. We arrived from Long Island and walked up to our room about 10:45 pm. Ten minutes later, there's a knock at the door. Its the guy below us, informing us that they can hear everything we are doing in the room and that he and his party are going... More
