We enjoyed our one night stay at the Green Mountain Inn. First, the room was clean and well appointed with the things we needed (fridge, coffee maker, nice toiletries, and a very comfortable bed). We also enjoyed the breakfast. Our favorite part of the visit, however, was enjoying a refreshing dip in the pool and having lunch and drinks there as well. The sandwiches we had were all very good, and I was enchanted by the fact that they had cans of Heady Topper! Service was prompt and friendly. We'll be back!

Your wonderful comments and four-star rating have made our day, Mugro! Thank you for letting us know how much you enjoyed our luxurious accommodations, terrific staff, delicious dining, and exceptional amenities! Heady Topper is a fantastic double India Pale Ale brewed by The Alchemist right here in Stowe, Vermont, and it's our pleasure to offer it to our guests. We are already looking forward to seeing you again soon at the Green Mountain Inn! Patti Clark General Manager

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed at the Inn 2 weekends in a row. One time in a townhouse with family and the second as a couple in the Sterling Apt. Each time was a great experience. The rooms are clean and tastefully decorated. I could possibly live here (LOL). The pool and hot tub are expertly tucked behind the Inn and well landscaped and there's a pool BAR!! or just call the restaurant and have drinks delivered. ALL of the staff are extremely kind, polite and helpful. It has been awhile since I have enjoyed a stay so much.

I'm glad that I picked this hotel for our first Stowe visit. Right on a Main Street, charming old Inn. Our room( and all the grounds) was very clean and nicely decorated. It was worth to pay more for a luxury room, it was huge! Friendly stuff, good breakfast and very good time in the restaurant's bar! Would stay here again!

I was looking over my account and realized I never wrote a review for one of my favorite hotels. I have been visiting this hotel since 2000 never missing a year. It is a beautiful and charming resort located right on Main Street. All trips have been in the winter during Christmas in Stowe weekend. Last year, we went a little later because of the pandemic. Is you have ever seen the movie Funny Farm, it would remind you of Stowe. Stowe is the perfect vacation for a winter retreat. It’s absolutely a picture perfect place! A real must visit type of town! Green Mountain Inn is the perfect hotel! It’s close to skiing but more importantly it is in the charming little town of Stowe. It’s steps away from restaurants, a general store, shops, etc. The hotel has an outdoor heated pool in the winter, great fitness center with awesome hot tub, two delicious restaurants and a cozy little tea time. Tea time has lots of wonderful goodies including hot chocolate and hot apple cider. We recommend the breakfast buffet. Delicious! I love that the hotel is staying humble and not charging a resort fee. Many hotels in the area add this fee but GMI only charges their regular rates. Greatly appreciated! Across the street is Stowe’s Visitor Center. Visit to see if they know if any Ghost Tours are running during your vacation. I learned some really fun facts about the hotel and Stowe on it. I would highly recommend visiting the hotel during their Christmas in Stowe event (usually first weekend in December). It’s the hub for most events (caroling, Santa visit, carriage rides, gingerbread decorating, etc). The hotel has an old Victorian vibe that makes everything so special. I used to visit for an anniversary for many years than made it a father-daughter trip. The hotel is perfect for both types of vacations (romantic and family). I have stayed in many different room types. The main house is great for families. The back buildings are great for couples. Totally worth the extra money for a jacuzzi and fireplace in room (so special). Staff are all so nice especially the front desk gentleman and upstairs restaurant crew. Manager Patty was wonderful with changes being made during the pandemic. Thank you! Some favorites near the hotel: Gentle Giants Sleigh Ride, Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Tour, Helen Day Art Center festival of trees, Church Fair, Christmas Tree Cutting (near Waterbury), Cider Mill, Cabot Cheese Store, visit to Trapp Family Lodge, Sushi Yoshi restaurant, Stowe 3 Cinema, and more. We make sure to visit all of these spots on our trip. Combined with Green Mountain Inn, it’s the perfect trip! If you are passing Massachusetts heading to or from Stowe, you must visit Yankee Candle in Deerfield. So fun! Another great Christmas tradition! Green Mountain Inn…thank you for being you! I have truly enjoyed making your hotel a tradition for over 20 years now. It’s definitely a highlight of the holiday season. I look forward to seeing you all again later this year! Who knows…maybe I will experience a summer there one day too! I’m sure it’s just as wonderful!

This hotel was perfect for a Vermont getaway. It was clean, well maintained, and right in the heart of Stowe. We enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants and shops, and the pool, the hot tub, the bar, and the fire pits all made for relaxing time at the hotel while not out and about in the town. We would definitely stay here again.
