We arrived and our room was covered in blood, hair and human feces. The desk closes at 5 so they had no one to fix it. They outsource cleaning to Vacasa and Vacasa gave us a hard time and lied to us that they weren’t associated with the resort. Water pressure is terrible Wifi is unusable Beds were broken The room is dated and dingy You have to climb rickety stairs to get there The playground is a danger to kids (our 4 year old almost broke his back because they have a balance beam under the monkey bars) Pool is gross Laundry is expensive and the machines are old and take multiple runs to actually clean and dry clothes Would not recommend to anyone for any reason. Pretty much ruined our entire family vacation and we traded a 3000 week at another resort for this trash.
I stayed in unit B303. Two bedrooms, 1.75 baths. Huge slider and deck, and a side view of the mountains Only complaint was that the 2nd bedroom was small and hot, and the showers took about five minutes to produce warm water. (I timed it.) Easy walking distance of lots of restaurants and two breweries, plus the Stow Recreation Path. Hills and lots of stairs, good for the legs!
We found the overall experience nice ..Due to the fact so many companies are involved in the rental it's hard to ask where's the hot water. We stayed in unit B401 one shower had hot one did not, change bathrooms and so did the problems it was always an issue with our stay....Talking with other guests it seems to be an ongoing problem... Maybe they should have a hot water scavenger hunt not a birdhouse hunt...
Location & overall maintenance was good, the units deck was nailed down with a nail gun and several nail heads were sticking up about a qtr in or 6mm , and the tennis courts had several cracks in the playing surface, charging a undisclosed $70 amenities fee 1/2 way though is unexceptionable. Especially with minimal amenities available.
First time at this resort. They are updating units but ours was stuck in the eighties with showers barely functioning. The location is excellent and the grounds are nice but need repairs as well. Overall it was still a nice getaway.
Mostly functional. It was clean. VERY dated and things appear to be bandaided instead of replaced. Ours was a Vacasa unit. One toilet wouldn’t flush if the other was running and it was always running. Out of 5 of us, we couldn’t figure out how to get to regular tv channels. The sliding glass door didn’t lock and we were on the ground floor. We called for help and we were repeatedly transferred. No help onsite. The next day someone came out.
Mountainside is not a luxury resort and it doesn’t pretend to be, but it offers great family friendly accommodations for a ski vacation in Vermont. We haven’t stayed there during other seasons, but the area offers other activities during the warmer months and plenty of dining opportunities in nearby Stowe and Waterbury. Just take note that many of the units require a lot of stair climbing to access.
Don’t waste your money this place isn’t nice. Unit on the 4th floor with no elevator you better be a mountain climbing weight lifter. There was dust clogging up all vents. Dishes in cupboards dirty. It takes 10 minutes to get hot water and if units below are using it your out of luck. Outdated cheap furniture and tvs.
This place is absolutely awful. Not clean I had to wash every dish and glass and silverware before using. The pool was cloudy and unswimmable as was the hot tub. There was a broken chairs, holes in the wall, headboard that have been ripped, off felt so uncomfortable at my time there that I cannot recommend this place.
We love the area and were grateful to find a location at the last minute. Had stayed at this resort years before in a more comfortable unit. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant to work with. Would consider this resort again in the future.
