Was looking for a place that was close to many attractions. Bike riding Restaurants etc. Came across Stowflake and it was perfect. Walking distance to pretty much dinner and breakfast places. Bike path just down from the hotel.
Upkeep on the outside is in need of help, foliage flowers bushes outside needed attention looked shabby. The parking lot had big potholes Our sheets were worn, in need of replacement but were clean. Carpeting in the halls and entry worn and lifting in some spots, a tripping hazard, the room was very clean which made the difference on our stay
We reserved 1 king size room for our anniversary with high hopes as I had a wonderful experience a year ago at the spa. The room was outdated, curtains and carpet faded. The bed was very uncomfortable. The wall paper was peeling in our room, visible damage to the bathroom door. After returning from the pool to take a shower, we turned the water on and it was brown. Things had been removed from the wall and there were holes and pencil markings from when the item was installed. The outdoor pool closed at 7p which seems really early for summertime resort. The indoor pool was cold like it was not heated and the hot tub had a bunch of sand in it. We ended up packing up our stuff and leaving a few hours after we checked in. Our experience at the front desk was terrible. Lori was the one who checked us in and out. But at check out she didn't offer any help to remedy the situation. Never once apologized for the experience and condition of the room. As we were leaving and saying goodbye to her she ignored us and didn't say anything. The next day I called the resort to try and speak to someone about our experience. The only person I could speak to was the same person that checked us out. Who happens to be the Guest Service Manager. I explained again about our experience and was told that water was clean when she checked it, that the wall paper was peeling slightly. She stated she didn't attempt to offer any solutions because we were adamant to leave and return home. Definitely do not recommend this resort to anyone. …
Stoweflake has been a favorite for many years. Unfortunately it seems the pandemic has taken a toll. It needs a refresh of its exterior. The parking lot has many potholes and the entrance by our room has stairs that the concrete is disintegrating. The rug by the door has seen better days as has the rugs leading to the rooms. The staff at the front desks of reception and the spa seem weary at best and need to remember to be more inviting to their guests. My husband and I have been coming here for 15 years and it's always been our favorite place in Stowe. It saddened us to see it like this and for the staff to be so unwelcoming.
The hotel was very outdated and basic. Low quality furnishings and atmosphere. Understaffed and hours of operation for their spa, wellness/gym facility and restaurant are extremely limited. The sports center was dirty, no staff was seen, the hot tub was filthy with dead bugs and dirt, even the air conditioning units were covered in gray dirt. The steam rooms and sauna were out of order and the spa never returned our 2 calls. The resort rooms were small and the bathrooms were tiny. The mattress was comfortable but the room atmosphere is similar to a 2 star hotel or highway pull off motel. We did not eat dinner at the hotel but inquired about breakfast in their hotel restaurant. Unfortunately the restaurant is not open for breakfast nor is there an option for breakfast room service. Very basic resort that is in need of major renovations and upgrades. …
Nice Facility. the room was a bit "Old School" for electronics. Could have used a more functional desk. We did enjoy the spa and the location was excellent. Front desk personnel were very helpful and accommodating.
Will never go there again!!! rooms outdated, manager rude and unresponsive, front desk not a clue what they were doing. Do not recommend this place ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would not honor my gift certificate
I realize the pandemic, change of ownership and lack of staff has taken its toll on this place, but what I saw/experienced has me very upset and angry. We paid over $1700 for 2 nights in the condos. The place wasn’t clean, the couch was tattered, the bed very uncomfortable. There was stuff on the floor in the bathroom from a previous guest. No soap in the master bathroom. The kitchen was poorly stocked — very few glasses/plates etc. The kitchen ceiling paint was peeling. Driving to the condo itself was a challenge because of all the nasty potholes. Not only will I never stay here again, but this experience has left such a bad taste in my mouth, It will be a long time before I go back to Stowe.
Does anyone care anymore??? So disappointed in this place! They will gladly take your money and you will get nothing in return! No customer service, everything has been allowed to get so run down that the new owners are going to have to sink some huge money into their place to even get it back up to acceptable conditions! Pool area is so bad the only ventilation comes from the windows and doors that don't close! Pool has ALWAYS got mechanical issues, cold and dirty! Hard to find someone that works there and when you do they will consistently tell you everything is working fine and the pool is 84 degrees. 3 thermometers later it only reads 78 degrees! Called the Spa desk to request a refund of my membership and shockingly no one ever called me back. They just don't care! I pity the person that books at the so called resort! May as well stay at the BATES Motel!…
Let me tell you what a pool membership for 6 months for the Stoweflake means Expensive, no towels, very cool pool temperature, filthy restrooms and locker rooms, dirty pool room, very bad maintenance and no body ever calls you back about anything. I cannot believe how dumpy this resort has become
