Mickey will greet you at the door with a big smile...This was my favorite place on our New England journey so far. ..friendly staff, fabulous breakfast, cozy. Would recommend. Good location.. fairly close to auto road to Mount Mansfield. Stowe traffic can be busy during times. Lots of places to eat.

We stay here the same September weekend every year. Its an older Inn with plenty of creaks and squeaks. The rooms are comfortable with great beds.If you are a dog person Mickey the resident Bernese Mountain Dog will keep you entertained. The Inn is located across the street from the Recreation Path , making access easy. The breakfast is by far... More

For the $$ we paid I guess I was expecting more... The place has its charms but it need updating badly. We stayed in the biggest most expensive room, it smelled so bad of smoke from the fireplace it was acrid and made all our clothes smell like smoke. The jacuzzi tub was nice but after a couple inches the... More

The Gables Inn provides a comfortable bed and hot, gourmet breakfast for absurdly reasonable rates. There are relatively few amenities and the rooms are relatively small, but the cozy feel and great breakfast are well worth the cost. Note: if you do not like dogs be advised the Gables Inn does keep a dog. If you do like dogs, big... More

Loved this place, from the creaky uneven floors to Mickey, the huge and lovable Bernese. Watched the Olympics with a small group in the front room (to include the owner) while Mickey made the rounds to ensure everyone had equal petting opportunities. I felt as if I were home. The room had only two-pronged outlets, so I ended up recharging... More

I'm so sorry I didn't get to stay here. I booked a one-night stay for the first night of my trip before joining my group. Unfortunately, my flight was cancelled and I couldn't get to Vermont that night, but they were so understanding and cancelled my reservation with no charge. Really nice friendly service after spending a day battling with... More

I was traveling with my teenage grandson and wanted to stay at a modestly priced but nice hotel. This hit the spot. Owner was very helpful and personable. Breakfast was yummy...good old country style.

My dad brother and I were in Stowe for a weekend hiking trip and on our way out to head home we stopped here to get breakfast and in my opinion it was the best breakfast I've ever had at a good price and a comfortable setting. If I'm ever in Stowe again I will returning for breakfast.

My wife and I came here for a late breakfast. We enjoyed our breakfast very much. The bacon was nice and smokey. The sausages were great and sweet. The place is really nice, great location. Just by the bike trail. Nothing fancy, just good food with a great decor.

To me every time I go to Stowe, this is a must stop. The people are quite friendly who work there, the spot is quaint (sitting on the porch or on the front lawn), and the food is very good. No matter who we brought with us, everyone always wants to go back on their next visit, so don't miss... More
