the pool is very pretty. The 2 BR, 2 level townhouse style room we stayed in was not in terrific shape, but was okay. the carpeting needs to be replaced. The STAFF was Great, especially Cardina in housekeeping and Dan at the spa/pool. Donna was fun gym teacher and Zdravco at front desk was also very helpful. our dinner was extremely slow, espy since we were w older folks, but they did the right thing and comp'd us for the meal. we would def stay again, service and facilities are "topnotch," even if the room needed a spruce up. Great location, not too far from town and close to mountain (for skiing and hiking). Thanks!
Overall the price does not justify what you get. The place has changed considerably since Covid. The hot tubs are closed, no idea why as I saw that other hotels had their hot tubs open. The outdoor pool was freezing as usual. Most people were complaining when they got in. I couldn't get a reservation for tennis, no one picks up at the tennis center and there is no one there in person either. Our room had ants all over the floor. Only one restaurant was open on premises and the average wait for dinner was 2 hours and 15 minutes both times we went there and that is with ordering our food immediately. The kids did enjoy the indoor pool as it was heated.
We've been visiting the Top Notch for 10 years usually in the summer/fall. They just re-opened due to Covid so we knew certain activities and amenities wouldn't be available. The Service at the ROOST was excellent as was our waiter (wish we could remember his name) he was so great talking fishing and sports with my son. Charlie who took our reservations very helpful and emailed to let us know we could check in early. Everything was cleaned and wiped down. All guests and hotel staff wore masks inside. We used the bike path into town and rented an extra bike across the street. We will return again
My daughters and I had a wonderful three days at Topnotch. Everything was top-drawer: the food, the kind and helpful staff, the spa treatments and personnel and the entire facility itself. We felt very pampered and enjoyed every minute of our stay. We would return in a heartbeat, especially in warm weather when we would be able to enjoy the outdoor facilities. Thank you Topnotch.
With the price of services, and having been to comparable spa resorts, we were disappointed in the overall amenities and treatments. The relaxation/waiting room was right off the entrance to the spa and adjacent locker room, which resulted in a noisy atmosphere. It was also very awkward to be escorted through the locker room and down a set of stairs to receive the massage. It was not fun to have to climb stairs after the treatment, either. We were also disappointed that the massage time was cut short...there were two of us and we both found that our treatment time included the time walking to the treatment room, disrobing, talking to the therapist, and returning to the relaxation room. That means that our massages were cut short by several minutes. The massage had good technique but was very "piecemeal" with very choppy components and it did not flow well. There were a lot of hands-off moments that made the massage feel very rushed and not synchronized at all. The nail treatments were also sub-par and the nail techs were more interested in talking to each other and we would have preferred a nice, relaxing environment with minimal talking. We paid for a luxury spa experience and could have gotten better services at a local massage parlor or nail salon for a quarter of the price. We have been to many spas and this would rate as one of the poorest by far. We do not take reviews lightly and wish we had known this information before spending a good sum of money on this experience. We are very willing to pay for quality services and often pay upwards of $200 per massage but the quality is far superior, as is the atmosphere. In addition, a gratuity of 22% was automatically added, which was more than the standard.…
