This is in such a great location on a beautiful property. We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Our cabin was a bit small but very clean. This is a great place to relax and spend time outdoors. They offer kayak and canoe rentals but it was very rough on the lake while we were there. I would absolutely stay here again in the future.

Excellent location. Spotlessly clean (bleached sheets) cute cabins. Great service and very informative. Amazing location on a quiet island overlooking the lake but only a short and beautiful drive away from Burlington, upstate NY, and a lot of the amazing spots of Vermont. The property has a lot of space, a lot of separation between cabins, fireflies, areas to sit and watch the lake, fire pits, bird watching, boating, fishing, pool table, table tennis, and a lot of other games. Cold have easily spent the whole summer here. Book it before they run out of rooms!

Great cabin. David and melissa were wonderful hosts. Qiuet end of the road location but close to state parks and great food. Felt safe with spotlessly clean cabin. Next year going for a cabin with screened porch. Thanks for a truly relaxing staycation.

My wife and I stayed overnight at The Anchorage. We chose this resort because it was along our sight seeing route, We have stayed at many other rustic resorts but this one stands out from all the others. The grounds are beautiful with little nice touches all over the place. The lodge has a tastefully decorated sitting room with a big TV. The owners Dave and Melissa treat you as welcome guests. Eating breakfast with them in the lodge is like eating with family. Our cabin was newly remodeled. It was cozy with a screen porch, fridge and coffee maker. The beach area had phenomenal views and all manner of watercraft. Wished we could have stayed longer

I stayed here with my kids for a few days. I knew it was off the beaten place, but didn't expect the view. Gorgeous lake and views. You can rent kayak, boats, and other stuff for cheap. Lake and dock area was peaceful and relaxing. Had a chance to get back to nature with the kids. There was spotty internet and no tv in the cabin, but no big deal. There was games, tv, internet and anything you needed at the main lodge. The owners have breakfast every morning for a good price. My daughter is gluten free and the owner made sure she had a similar gluten free breakfast as ours. Not the usual muffins and hotel food, but a real laid out breakfast. Owners pointed out local places and provided anything. If the couldn't they pointed out where. If your looking for luxury its not here. If you are looking for a bonding with family and friends and nature the, go there.

I can imagine that staying in a cabin is not de rigor anymore; not comparable to resort accommodations in exotic locations: no health club, no haute restaurant with an Austrian chef, no yoga etc. What it does have is rustic charm, no-frills hospitality accommodating hosts and a stage on Lake Champlain. Our room was everything we needed: clean, a comfortable bed, a porch, a fire pit and on the lake. We also had affordable access to their pontoon boat. There were some bumps or rough edges. Some cabins and shacks on the premisies are no longer operational and the lodge needs a bit of updating (i.e. the pool table needs functional sticks). But, hats off to the new owners, who are working their hearts out to make this venture work. They even welcomed our dog, who had the run of the place. I truly hope for a return to the days when places like this outnumber strip malls, ostentatious roof bars and the cattle-car atmosphere of airports. Nothing can replace sitting around a fire looking at the stars, in Vermont, by the lake. The Anchorage does this well!

This is an amazing hidden gem!! I came here with my 5 year old son and met 2 other moms with their kids. We had the most memorable time. The Anchorage is meticulously clean everywhere you go from the main lodge, to the individual cabins, to the lake front shore. The cabins are adorable with everything you need. I had a screened in porch where I had my coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at night. The owners are unbelievably friendly and wonderful from the moment you pull in and make your time here relaxing and memorable. I cannot say enough about this place. My husband cannot wait to be able to come back with us! We will be returning to The Anchorage.

This is our first stay and we will be back next year! We loved our cottage. Lake views, wonderful home-cooked breakfasts. The owners were absolutely "customer-first". We enjoyed the main lodge and hanging out there as well. Lots of property, Adirondack chairs to sit back and relax. A very nice public boat launch less than a mile away if you have a large boat to launch. We strongly recommend this cottage resort. We also appreciated the owner's recommendations for food and things to do. Also my husband loves to bass fish and the owner gave some superb tips to catch the best.

The Anchorage provided just what we needed after a busy week touring round. The owners are welcoming and accommodating, we felt like family guests. What a peaceful and relaxing place next to the Lake. The cottages are very comfortable and have homely touches. Loved the porch! Breakfast was generous and tasty. Would love to have spent longer than 2 nights here, and I would highly recommend this little gem
