My family and I visited Burlington for the first time. The first hotel, Days inn charged 250$ a night, I booked two nights… upon arrival we found that the city of Burlington held their homeless there. NOT a place you want to stay. We called around and got in contact with Maria, she saved our trip! The hotel felt like we were staying in a five star hotel. Thank you so much for saving our weekend! We will return!
My wife and I just stayed here for a couple of days. Upon arriving we were told that the air conditioning for the whole facility was not working. Apparently it had been broken for a while, but they didn't bother telling us until we arrived. The only good thing was it was not very hot and the window in the room opened, but that did mean we got to hear the highway noises. Another minor problem was the closet door in our room was partially off its track and couldn't close completely. The room was otherwise OK, but the whole hotel looked a little run down and in a serious need of some updating. The staff was fine, though there is still no housekeeping, because of Covid. Breakfast was included and was OK, but nothing special.
Horrible. I travel a lot for work and this place has pictures from what must be years ago..it is in disrepair for sure. Smells, bugs, needs MAJOR repairs, cleaning,etc..don't waste your money. False advertising for sure👎😡
The hotel is perfectly fine. The rooms are a decent size, the staff were helpful and kind. The pool is fine but the hot tub smells disgusting. The breakfast was fine and there was plenty of parking. The restaurant next door is decent.
The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful .The room we stayed in was clean and the hotel in general was very clean. Great options for the free breakfast! Why a 3 star? Maybe it was our room, but it seemed old and outdated. Stains on the ceiling and paper peeling off the walls, with old carpets. Not a very pleasant smell. Almost smelled like a smoking room. Again, we appreciated the friendliness of the staff!
So, I actually stayed in *two* rooms here. I'll give you bullet points to try and keep this brief... In general: -- Paper thin walls that reverberate every footstep, cough, text message alert, and phone ringtone with impressive clarity. -- Desk chair cushion immediately deflates straight to the wood as soon as you sit on it. -- Wallpaper that was wrinkling and coming loose from the walls at every seam. -- Wifi that seemed like it only existed so they could technically list it as an amenity. .22 Mbps according to Ookla Speedtest, and spotty. (At least it was free...I guess.) -- Bathrooms have drop ceilings (???) so naturally they've all ended up with brown water stains. The first room: -- Bathroom door gets stuck so you have to shove it to get it closed and open. -- Smoke detector chirping at 2am. -- And, my favorite: bed bugs. Not "probably" bed bugs. Absolutely bed bugs. I have bites all along the back of my left thigh and on my chest, in their typical zigzag-linear bite path. When I turned on the light, there was one crawling on the nightstand near my phone. Fortunately, I am very cautious and don't unpack, and keep my bags zipped shut unless retrieving something. Staff inspection of the bags prior to getting me into a new room found no stray bugs. I spent over an hour until after 4am inspecting every wrinkle, pocket, fold, and seam of every article of clothing I brought with me, looking for passengers. Fortunately, I found none. I pray I didn't miss any that will come home with me. The second room: -- Thermostat was completely broken. You can cool to 58 or heat to 75. It wouldn't let you change it to anything in between. That's it. Freeze or roast, or leave it off entirely and hope for the best. -- Grimy, discolored mini fridge. -- The tub was absolutely not cleaned and had dirt, hair and fuzz everywhere. -- The smoke detector was taped together with what appeared to be yellow packing tape. -- Blood stained bedcovers. I was surprised to learn that this was actually a fairly recently-built hotel, because it certainly feels old, tired and in need of attention. I will give them credit for their front desk staff being attentive and responsive, especially upon my blearily approaching them at 3am and asking for a new room. But the rest? Oh boy. Just... Maybe check around for other options.…
The good: Comfortable bed, clean room, friendly staff, decent size rooms, decent breakfast The bad: Smell of cleaning solution, noise from other rooms, hall, and plumbing, horrendous access and traffic. Hotel could use a little update.
We decided to get a room here at the last minute. The hotel itself is okay. This hotel may not be my first choice next time. But that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t give it another chance. Chris at the front desk was very nice. Despite everything that happened, she was kind and considerate. Our room had a nasty old shower. The wifi absolutely sucked. It was so slow and so spotty. We couldn’t get anything to load. We certainly don’t want to stay in room 350 again. We will probably try this hotel again, but we definitely hope there are improvements going forward
One of the nicer Comfort Inns we've stayed in, and we've stayed in many. About the only nits were that they were still doing limited packaged breakfasts even though no longer necessary, and the wifi was unusable during the evening.
I made a very last minute booking when it became clear that we would not get our student moved out of her off-campus apartment as planned, because she needed to stop packing to do school work. The academic calendar shifted because of COVID and messed up schedules Check in was smooth. All staff members we encountered were pleasant and efficient. Room was large, clean and comfortable. The jetted tub was a welcome surprise, but it was very loud. My only issue was with the window coverings. I saw no “black out” curtains and parking lot lights came through the shear panel all night long. Ironically, I had a similar issue at a different hotel nearby the night before.
