My husband and I have stopped here a few times in the past. Yesterday we had a wonderful dinner out on the front veranda. My husband had the mussels appetizer, and beef stew for his dinner. He said both were amazing. I had the tofu dinner (vegetarian) and it was wonderful. Great service. Lots of locals coming and going, all... More

The Saxtons River Inn was the perfect respite for a marathon drive up from NC to pick up the college kiddo from a writing camp. After coming to my senses that I couldn't just drive to/from Vermont and NC within a 24 hr period w/o dropping dead, I reached out to Barb and Mark, my AirBnB Milky Way hosts in... More

Current owner past 18 mos has a big project to keep up and I hope people wander over here to stay. Friendly and clean and a good value. Keurig and snacks in the hallway are a good touch and just enough breakfast food to get you going - granolas and cereals and banana and a spiced spoon bread which I... More

My husband & I were very pleased with our stay @ The Saxton River Inn. The owner, Sarah, was really pleasant & efficient. Tes, went out of her way to make a great toddy for my husband who thought he was coming down with a cold. The dinners were so delicious I personally had to go back in the kitchen... More

Had a lovely, quiet dinner at the Saxtons River Inn on Christmas Eve. Last minute decision. Beautiful dining room. Excellent meal -- tenderloin steak and rack of lamb were cooked perfectly. Very friendly staff.

I like the place but it is old and not super well maintain. Feels like you are in a movie. It is cute but not a Romantic getaway. The staff and their restaurant in very good. If you are in the are it is a great place to stay.

This is a "historic" hotel that is old and it shows. If you like this kind of place, this is for you. But I think it was pretty overpriced. The "breakfast" was just a box of cereal... The bed in my room didn't even have a headboard. For $149 plus tax this was waaaaay overpriced. Otherwise, the room was clean,... More

Friends of mine were getting married in nearby Grafton and all of the lodging in the area was booked up by the wedding guests. We were very lucky and got a room at Saxton's River Inn! It was the quintessential, charming New England Inn and the village was gorgeous and quaint. The owner / innkeeper, Sarah, was a perfect hostess... More

The Saxton's River Inn is a delight. It is very old and historic but the rooms are large and well appointed. The owner lives in the building and makes herself available for a questions or concerns that arise. The chef John does an amazing job each night for dinner. Saxton's River is a very little town but it has a... More

The Saxtons River Inn is a quaint and charming country inn. When you stay there you feel like you are staying with an old friend. I have visited the inn twice this year. Once in January and again last week. The changes I have seen in just a few short months are amazing. Sarah, the inn keeper, is clearly the... More
