I recently stayed at Clifford Country B & B and had a wonderful experience. Emily was a kind and considerate host who made us feel right at home. We woke to fresh baked bread and coffee every morning and enjoyed our breakfast overlooking Emily's beautiful gardens, while her foster puppy, Jinx, napped at our feet. It was an absolutely picturesque spot, and I will definitely be making a return trip.
My husband and I spent five days at the Clifford Country B&B in September of 2018 and we simply loved it! From the moment we arrived, Emily made us feel right at home. Despite arriving at 11pm on Friday, Emily welcomed us by offering a glass of wine and asked what time we wanted breakfast the next day (no restrictions on breakfast hours, which we loved!) The next day we woke up to a stunning view of Emily's beautiful garden and mountains in the distance. After a delicious breakfast of homemade waffles, Emily offered to take us around to some of the local haunts, including a neighboring farm where we picked up milk and met the cows that produced it. What makes staying at Emily's special is that it is obvious she loves living in Mt. Holly and offers a wonderful insider's glimpse into central Vermont living. She made wonderful suggestions about local arts and music festivals, shared local gardening and compost must-knows, and made excellent suggestions to local restaurants. By the end of our trip, Emily felt more like extended family than the owner of Clifford Country B&B. We found her lovely home to be the perfect long weekend country getaway.…
We stayed in the Clifford Country B&B over a two-day weekend and we had a great time. The house is well maintained and has a wonderful garden. You can see chipmunks, humming birds and finches up close. The breakfast was freshly made with ingredients from the garden. The host, Emily was very helpful and took time to show us around in Mt. Holly. She took us to a dairy farm where my 10 year old son enjoyed petting calves. We had a chance to visit the oldest cheese factory in the country and also learned a great deal about making maple syrup. If you want to learn about the local community, Emily is the person to talk to. The B&B is a hidden gem and the place to stay if you visit the Green Mountain area.
My husband and I stayed at the Clifford Country B&B in August, and really enjoyed our stay. Emily makes you feel like you are part of the family, the rooms are comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Our activities included relaxing in a rocking chair taking in the view, strolling down the country lanes, harvesting "rat-tail radishes" in the organic garden (delicious, really!), driving to a nearby farm to pick up fresh milk, and attending a local concert. My husband learned a great deal about composting from Emily, knowledge that he plans to use in his mother's village in Nepal. Highly recommended!
I spent 20 days in this cozy wooden house with a vast garden where lives a wide variety of wild animals. Every morning, finches and woodpeckers might wake you up, chipmunks might walk around you when you sit on the porch. The host is an extremely warm hearted grandma who used to travel around the world and could speak quite a few oanguages including fluent Japanese and Soanish. The host turns my staying into a culture learning experience as she knew so much about the nature and the history of VT. I feel most lucky and gratitude for such a wonderful host. Surely I hope I could come back again in future!
