The service was nice and the breakfast very pleasant, as it was the veranda but the hotel is in need of refreshing, the carpets are old and the walls need painting, the bathroom was small with a tiny closet inside of the bathroom.

The Inn a Montplier was just excellent. The Inn was beautifully restored with antiques and oriental rugs galore. A continental breakfast was served on a large porch with flowers galore. The breakfast was great with a choice of jams, rolls, certeals, and fruit. The host was great and very attentive to our needs. We were there for a Norwich reunion.... More

Great location as we could walk around from here without having to drive. The room was noticeably outdated, and the door would slam if not mindful. It was humid and the A/C did not work very well. Made for a warm sticky night. Bed was not very comfortable. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. All in all, I'd... More

Spent a couple of nights in this charming Inn. Located in the heart of the village so nice little walk to the local restaurants, shops etc. Was enchanted by the decor, peacefulness, great big porch to swing/sit and relax - even have breakfast. Will definitely come again.

I think maybe this is a place best suited to business trips and older travelers. The location is great because you can easily walk to all of the shops, restaurants, and attractions. However, we found the staff to be aloof and a little confrontational. The man who checked us in seemed to be reciting a script instead of speaking to... More

Anniversary trip. Charming. Historic. Well kept. Inviting and comfortable rooms and common areas. Friendly but not hovering staff. Easy walk to downtown. Sit on the porch and relax into a Vermont summer evening.

Up for a quick business trip and chose this property because of the in town location and ability walk to near by restaurants, etc... The common rooms are very nice and welcoming and the porch made me wish I had time to sit an enjoy it more. Our room was very clean and the king bed very comfortable. There were... More

We stayed one night at the Inn. John is a cordial host who made us feel at home from the start. We sampled the homemade cookies with late afternoon coffee before heading off to a restaurant that was within walking distance. Because of occasional rain, John offered us an umbrella, but we ended up driving. He had plenty of menus... More
