Mickie and Josh are wonderful innkeepers. So enjoyed our conversations and getting to know them. Breakfasts were delicious and filling. Rooms are comfy and we stayed in the White Birch this time which is huge and we enjoyed the in room tub for tow and the fireplace. Killington received 30+ inches of snow while we were there so conditions were superb. Enjoyed a few colds ones in the bar area. They are waiting on parts to repair the hot tub…with the hot tub this would be a 5 star review.

My husband and I visited the Vermont Inn on the first weekend in December. We were impressed with the young couple who greeted us as we entered the inn. It was a refreshing change to feel at home while away. Often times you go to an inn or hotel and feel disconnected. This was not the experience at the Vermont Inn. We were told of the history of the property and the plans for the future. The innkeepers were friendly, helpful, and extremely accommodating during our stay. The in has a small staff but you would never know it, as whenever we needed something the innkeepers were there at a moments notice. The inn was decorated for the holidays and we felt as if we stepped back into time. We felt like we were stepping right into Bing Crosby’s movie “White Christmas.” The fire place in the dining room was warm and cozy. I have difficulty sleeping and it was nice to be able to use the sunroom in the middle of the night to quietly sit and read a good book. I felt like I was in my own home. Did I forget to mention that the breakfast that we were offered was a Five Star meal. The pancakes were some of the best pancakes I have ever had. Throughout the day there was always a good selection of tea, coffee, hot cocoa, and adult beverages available at the bar. If you are looking for a romantic getaway, girls trips, or family vacation I would suggest going to the Vermont Inn. We plan on making this a yearly trip and look forward to seeing the lovely owners and hardworking young innkeepers again soon.

The Vermont Inn was not what it was cracked up to be. The hot tub… Not open…. The Bed.. feels like a bird nest, the middle is way to sunken… The hallways.. Too skinny for 2 people to walk down…The walls.. Super thin. The food is Expensive and small portions. If you book on tripadvisor your meals are NOT free (which was not listed online). Lastly, they are not completely dog friendly like They state on Tripadvisor. Since the Tripadvisor stated that it was dog friendly.. You would think the building is dog friendly. I booked our room 3 months in advance and left a note on the trip advisor for The Vermont Inn that we will be bringing our two dogs. I used to run a hotel and know that the tripadvisor shows the notes to the hotel.. They denied seeing a note and that Tripadvisor does not do that, WRONG! At check in the Hosts Watched us walk the dogs into the hotel and even greeted us all. They decided to not say anything to us when we were checking in about our dogs. They waited for us to stay a whole night and then decided to kick us out and not refund us for our WEEK vacation. After a long discussion they refused to refund us and tripadvisor was no help either. Then, they proceeded to bill us an extra 100 dollars, as if keeping $900 dollars wasn't enough! All in all I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Even if you don't have a dog the hotel is not worth it. They stole all of our money and didn't care. We then had to cancel our Christmas Vacation and drive home because of how inconsiderate and money hungry The Vermont Inn was. The only good thing I have to say about this hotel is the location.

We stayed here one year ago. What a difference one year makes! You can read my 5-star review (below) from January 2022. We enjoyed our stay last year, and returned for a second visit hoping to have the same experience. But, with a seemingly new team in place this year, we had several issues with our stay. Whereas last year, we were offered a delicious and fresh breakfast, that was not at all the case this year. The breakfast was minimal. There were two options, either eggs or pancakes. If you are a vegan, you will likely not have much to eat. On one of the mornings of our stay, I was told that they had run out of fresh vegetables, potatoes and fruit. As a vegetarian, I was disappointed. The window in our tiny room was completely cracked and had a very large hole, letting the cold wintry air into our room. The window that was not cracked was old and very drafty. The upstairs small community kitchen was not clean. After looking at dirty glassware for two days, I myself carried all of the dirty glasses, which had accumulated there, downstairs to the dining room. The garbage can was overflowing and was not attended to until the following afternoon. Our guest room was not serviced at all during our 3-night stay. The hot-tub was closed last year and remains closed this year. On a positive note, the new inn-keepers are a young, friendly couple. The location is close to Killington Mtn. The fireplace in the pub is nice to sit near and the sunroom is cozy. There is a small gym which we used every morning. There is a nice sauna. General upkeep, maintenance and updating is highly needed. Since last year, the inn has lost it’s charm and seems neglected.

My partner and I stayed at the Vermont Inn over the holidays to be closer to ski mountains, walking trails, and all that the Green Mountains have to offer. This bed and breakfast exceeded our expectations. We were met with thoughtful and kind innkeepers who were responsive and accommodating of every need. We loved making our coffee down the hall and watching the sun rise over the mountains-- followed by a yummy breakfast with excellent service. After a day on the slopes, we recommend the pub downstairs which has a warm wood fire stove and great blueberry beer. We will absolutely be back.

We stayed here as part of our tour of New England in the Fall. It was at the end of our trip so we have already enjoyed many nights in similar accommodation. We were not disappointed, we had a lovely room/suite which was quiet and spacious. The staff were friendly and the facilities were excellent. We did not eat so cannot comment on the food but there are several good restaurants nearby.

What else do you need when going to Vermont. The inn was dated, but it was clean and comfortable. The innkeeper was a sweet person who cared about your needs. Killington was a 5 minute drive . The breakfast was delicious and quick which allowed us to get a fast start on our day. Our room had a fireplace and a hot tub, which was perfect after a chilly day of sightseeing.

We came to Vermont to fulfill a "bucket list" wish to see New England in the fall. Vermont didn't disappoint and neither did the Vermont Inn. The staff was very communicative by text even before we got to the property. As I was packing and asking "should I bring..."I would text the Innkeeper and got a quick response. The property has character and charm, it exudes hospitality and a laid back vibe. It is not a slick corporate hotel (you can find those up the road in Killington) but rather a home that has been expanded and updated over the years. We stayed in the White Birch room- it was lovely. I read two books while I was there - both from the well used library, and loved the in room fireplace both for ambiance and warmth. Highly recommend for an off-the-beaten-path experience.

We have stayed at many inns, this was awful. Lots of deferred maintenance, nothing was as advertised, only plus is this was close to the mountain, really wish we had stayed somewhere else. If all you care about is skiing and sleeping I guess it would be ok.

My friend and I were in town for the annual Spartan race. The room was perfect for us. They made grab and go breakfasts for the Spartans in town, and when they found out we were racing again Sunday, they went out of their way to reach out and ask us if we would like grab and go breakfast that day as well. Everyone we met was so friendly and accommodating! We will definitely stay here again!
