We had the pet friendly room and if the rest of this place is half as clean as the pet friendly room it must be spotless. Nice accommodating owner and just a nice clean quiet place to stay. Well done!

Stayed here for a long weekend while attending a workshop weekend in the area. The rooms are very clean and country home-y. The hosts are very pleasant and low key. The breakfast restaurant is very handy and the food basic and tasty. The views across the valley are lovely (and the night sky lovely, if the weather permits seeing it!).

The Marshfield Inn and Motel was wonderful. The room was so clean and the owners were great, offering us free snacks/sodas and a phone to use if we needed to. We'll definitely stay here again when in the area!

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights September 4-7. We stayed in the main house upstairs room with a porch. It was very nice and clean with a Kitchenette. The owners are very nice and they made us an excellent breakfast one morning. It is an older style but well kept up place I would recommend to anyone!

We stayed here while visiting friends from Peacham. Everything was picture perfect from the room to the view of the mountains. A perfect quiet setting to enjoy the scenery of Vermont. Just a short drive to all the sights to enjoy sightseeing, shopping and dining. The owners were great and provided all the comforts of home. Especially for our two dogs who loved it too. Lots of trails to walk. Highly recommend this little piece of heaven. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks for the memories.

So glad you and the pooches enjoyed the visit. The views were extra nice because of a spectacular Fall Foliage Season starting up. Of course, there are always beautiful and interesting places to experience in our neck of the woods. Hopefully we’ll see you again—I’ll have the coffee ready and breakfast too!

We were dropping off our daughter for her first year at UVM and needed a couple of nights somewhere comfortable and on the way. This old style motel was well kept, very clean and refreshing in comparison to some of the usual offerings. Enjoyed a lovely breakfast and chat with the hosts as well! Highly recommend it and will be going back.

My family and I, traveling with a 6-year old and baby, stopped at the Marshfield Inn for 2 nights in July, and we were blown away by the attention to detail and care that the owners have lavished on this little slice of heaven. I stayed here over 15 years ago before the current owners took over and I couldn't believe the changes. The entire property is criss-crossed with mown paths, beautiful flower gardens everywhere you look, a small apple orchard, blueberries and raspberries that are served to the guests at breakfast, and little touches that prove that this is a labor of love for the hosts. My favorite part: Behind the motel are the remnants of a 19th Century barn foundation, cut granite, it is a massive edifice that the owners have ingeniously turned into the backdrop for a stunning array of flowers and ferns--and perhaps a perfect place for a small wedding. Great home-cooked breakfast at a very reasonable price, gracious hosts, gorgeous flowers, stunning views, and charming, clean rooms that still retain the 60's vibe (which we loved.) The Marshfield Inn should be a destination, not just a stop on the way to somewhere else! Do yourself a favor and skip the chains for your next trip through this beautiful part of VT. We can't wait to go back!

Thank you for your kind review of our property. We are encouraged to know that our guests enjoy our "labor of love". The gardens have been a work in progress over the years and this summer they really showed off well. We hope to see you and your family again--and hopefully we will have some new treasure for you to discover in our special corner of Vermont!

The owners were very helpful and friendly, the price was very reasonable. We enjoyed sitting in the colorful Adirondack chairs outside the rooms, and gazing at the view. Room was comfortable (albeit dated, but in a quaint way) and clean. Breakfast cost us extra, but it was only about $5 for a wonderful, full breakfast, with coffee, served by the owners in a sweet little breakfast room. We really enjoyed our stay and would go back.

We only planned to stay for one night here but enjoyed the hosts and their lovely Inn and Motel so much that we stayed another. We had gone out to the cabot trail and were making our way back home thru the USA when we happened along this little piece of heaven. We got the last room of the day. The highway out front was busy at times but didnt interfere with our stay. The rooms were very clean and had a rustic looking theme decor. They were just lovely. We sat outside our room and enjoyed the scenic views of the mountains and beautiful flowers the property offered. Coffee or tea in the morning while watching the fog on the mountain was pretty special. The room also had a fridge in it and a blow dryer. They have a internet type phone on the property where you can make calls from for free. Breakfast was at the Inn the next morning for a small fee. Dinner was at a nice pub in the next town/village. We sat outside on the back deck there. I would recommend this place for sure.
