I WANT TO GO BACK! I visited the historic Colonel Williams Inn for a dear friends' wedding in October, & I can truly say I will NEVER forget my weekend there. From the moment we road slowly up along the gravel driveway to the Inn, glancing to my left at the peaceful glistening pond & looking overhead at the majestic... More

Some friends and I attended a wedding here in Oct. We had a room on site for the weekend as well. I can say enough about this beautiful inn! First: the stay. Some of our group arrived very late. We stayed in one of the appartment style rooms in the cottage house. When we arrived, the room was warm and... More

First I must say after reading these mixed reviews I am very surprised. I just spend the last few days at this Inn with my family to celebrate my daughter's wedding. All of the guests raved about the food and the beautiful area. All of us that stayed at the Inn were treated as if we were at our own... More

We attended a wedding at Colonel Williams Inn. The hosts couldn't have been more accommodating and the food was delicious. The barn is one of the oldest in the country, refurbished, of course. It was transformed with twinkling lights into a beautiful place to celebrate a wedding. The Inn itself has the charm of an old place with updated, clean... More

This is by far the best experience my husband and I have ever had at an inn. When I called to make the reservation, and confirmed the price the owner corrected me that it was thirty five dollars cheaper which included a full breakfast. The inn is surrounded by beautiful grounds which include a pond and 100 year old apple... More

While the venue itself is quite picturesque and my wedding therefore was as well, my overall experience at the Colonel Williams Inn was not pleasant at all. The owner John was unfortunately exactly what I heard he would be from some other web reviews..grumpy, unprofessional, and unwelcoming. In addition, the food was quite mediocre, the advertised Jacuzzi tub was broken... More

Gorgeous venue for our wedding. Less than cordial hosts, unprofessional staff with very limited knowledge of how a Hospitality business should operate. How they manage to stay in business is beyond me!

We booked two rooms on a weekend. The host had told us to let him know if we would be eating dinner there early in the day because he fills up for dinner fast. Huh? We were the only ones there for dinner. The food was way over-priced and extremely tiny portions: pasta for $15 dollars was served in a... More

We held my daughter's wedding reception here yesterday and it was magical. Nancie and John were very helpful in making suggestions and worked extremely hard to make this a wonderful event. I appreciated their experience and flexibility in allowing us to decorate the barn on Thursday and Friday. The cocktail hour was on the front lawn of the Inn and... More

I read most of the other reviews, and I respectfully disagree with most of the negative ones. My experience from living in VT for more than 20 years is that big city travelers think they want a country atmosphere but expect big city coddling from small family-run operations, and bristle when they don't receive it, immediately. Try to relax a... More
