We were a group of 20 family and friends gathering together for our 45th annual ski trip. The Wilburton Inn was by far the best ski house we’ve rented. When you stay here you have your own private inn with no one else around. It was extremely spacious and we had a choice of several different rooms where we could hang out together. The industrial kitchen was a joy to cook in with everything at our fingertips. Three refrigerators accommodated all our food and beverages with ease. We were delighted to have bedrooms with our own private bathroom. With 12+ bedrooms, no one had to sleep on a couch. The views are beautiful and the grounds are good for hiking, snowshoeing and sledding. Any issues we had were seen to immediately by the staff. It’s a wonderful place to stay.
Beautiful historic inn. Warm and friendly environment. Tons of family activities (tennis, swimming, yard games, volleyball) Bridgerton-style ball Saturday night = Unsurpassed great time in southern Vermont If I could, I'd hold my wedding there (I've been happily married for almost 25 years!)
We are Newfoundland dog lovers and were very happy to have found the inn without a reservation. The owner was so welcoming to check in our beloved Newfie and we were smitten with her hospitable check in experience. The inn's beautiful grounds and spectacular mountain views also enhanced our stay. Our dog was not the only one to enjoy our walks on the grounds. Truly majestic mountain views and scenery- to Melissa thanks again- we will definitely return with our Newf!!!
Our family stayed at The Green Mountain House while our daughter competed at The Vermont Summer Festival. It was the perfect location - very close to the horse show grounds and to town, but the most peaceful mountain spot. My daughter and I came back to the Wilburton every day for lunch just to sit on our porch and enjoy the quiet and the mountain views. The house was lovely -- the kitchen had everything we needed and then some and beds were super comfortable. The best part may be the innkeepers. We were left in perfect privacy, as we prefer -- but, one night of our stay there was a dramatic summer storm, and we lost power. Melissa was at our house with candles and chocolates and kind words within minutes! It was the coziest night of our stay. We would love to return!
Amazing weekend with friends and family. We went up to VT with the intention of skiing some powder. We were met with ice. But even the conditions couldn’t stop the fun everyone had. The Strawberry Villa had huge bedrooms, plenty of space and clean everything. Often times large rentals will have broken items or worn out doors, furniture, ect…not this house. Had zero complaints. The Inn Keepers was cozier with a fireplace to boot. Room size was equally large and again- everything you would need and or want in a rental. We all loved our stay and greatly appreciated the help with any questions we had.
My extended family has joined for a weekend at the Battenkill house for 2 years for our Christmas weekend and we plan to make this a long lasting tradition! The rooms are perfect, beautiful and comfortable, lots with en suite bathrooms. The kitchen is a chef's dream and there's plenty of room to spread out and enjoy. The best part is the location to town! Melissa is a wonderful host and my family had a truly perfect weekend together!
I recently stayed at the Wilburton Inn for their holiday doggie slumber party. And, loved every minute! Although I live nearby, I'd never been to, or driven past, the Wilburton Inn. This is not just an Inn! It is a destination. 30 acres of private property with a sculpture garden, museum, guest buildings, a pool, tennis court, and the most beautiful stately mansion. The Levis family are incredibly hospitable hosts. Decorated for the holidays with everyone ... hosts and guests (& their DOGS!) dressed in pajamas, singing, laughing, telling stories...this is a party to remember. Located just minutes from Manchester Center full of shops and restaurants. All season activities...hiking, biking, skiing, snow shoeing, swimming, tennis, golf...you name it, you've got it. I cannot wait to return for one of Wilburton's Murder Mystery evenings. I will surely keep an eye out for more events happening at the Wilburton Inn. AND, I'll be back next year for the holiday doggie slumber party. My dog, Cocoa, had so much fun...he slept for 2 days afterward.…
It’s the second yoga retreat I’ve hosted here within six months and it’s becoming a regular go-to. A spectacular house that invites the feeling of being home and yet away at the same time. While the enormous kitchen, dining room and living room are havens for people to gather, there’s also enough room to reflect in solitude. We will be back!
I’ve been hosting Retreats at the Wilburton Inn in the Battenkill House since 2017 and it’s been an absolute dream location. Our participants all love their rooms, our food is deliciously catered by the family farm (Earth Sky Time Farm), and the outdoor surroundings make it the perfect break from “real life”. Each year has created special memories and we highly recommend the Wilburton for your visit to the area!
We have had a big 20+ person reunion/Halloween party at the Battenkill Valley Mansion 4 times now (would have been 2 additional years, but alas, covid). We love this home and are excited to continue to come back every year. The house is well appointed, is well taken care off (without feeling like a museum you can't *live* in), and has plenty of areas and rooms for groups to split off and have some smaller conversations and fun while also having rooms like the ballroom, living room, and dining room to accomodate the whole huge group at once. Every interaction with the Wilburton staff has been excellent and helpful. You really feel that the Inn and it's affiliiated homes are the families passion.
