Day prior to eclipse, waited 1.5 hrs to check in with only one person manning front desk. Restaurant minimally staffed and food choices limited due to the lack of planning. You would think they would have planned in advance for the amount of patrons with reservations. Shameful management performance.

Last week my siblings and I took our mom for a two-night stay to celebrate her 90th birthday. It was a great choice to come to the Equinox! The accommodations are perfect: up-to-date, clean, bright, spacious and pretty rooms; and public spaces are large, warm and welcoming, the blazing fires in the fireplaces a really wonderful touch during these wintry days and evenings... as is the much-appreciated all-day coffee and tea service. We enjoyed dinner the first night in the Chop House restaurant, pricey and absolutely worth every penny; and the second night had cocktails and bar bites in the Marsh Tavern after a hearty lunch in town. The food at the Equinox is sophisticated and very well-prepared, including the gorgeous fruit, cheese, and champagne amenity tray. And for the trifecta: the staff is terrific from check-in, to restaurants, to help from the front desk, to the gift shop, to speedy and accurate check-out. These folks seem to love their jobs - they're always smiling and happy to help. Special shout-out to Leah in the restaurants, we'll long remember her personal warmth and super professional hospitality skills. Our family getaway was wonderful and so is the Equinox. We'll definitely be back.

The room was clean and comfortable with a fabulous view (mountain view two queen). The bar experience was interesting because while the service was fabulous, the young man behind the bar on March 16th was incredible, it wasn't stocked, it seemed like they were out of more things than they had. At one point there were several managers standing around while he was busting his butt to find things he didn't have. I felt bad every time he came back to tell us he was out of something else, it was clearly out of his control. The outdoor terrace was fun and nice to be outside on an unseasonably warm march day but we had to ask several times to light the fire pit and when someone tried, it smelled of propane for 15 minutes or so before someone figured it out and actually got them lit. Our spa treatments were fab although expensive. The hot tub was leaning toward warm rather than hot but it was okay. The steam room and the sauna were both out of commission which was disappointing. Normally, I would have given this three bubbles - I'm giving it 1 because I had originally booked this for April but they couldn't confirm spa treatments that far in advance and that was the whole purpose of our trip so I called back to move it to an earlier date. Just today I got an email confirming my upcoming reservation. When I called to say, we already stayed, this reservation shouldn't be active - someone not at the hotel kept me on hold for over 20 minutes only to tell me I missed the cxl window and I'll have to pay. Seriously? She said she would submit a customer service request for me and I can wait for 48 hours for an email after which she said she was looking forward to welcoming me to Equinox. Talk about disingenuous service. Additionally, when booking originally we booked a guaranteed connecting room for a small upgrade cost, but to do so you had to book both rooms at full rate and then they would "refund you later" - clunky at best. I feel the need to comb my credit card statement and find out how much they've charged me so far.

So disappointed with the experience at this hotel! The line to check in was very long and there was only one person working at the desk. Tried to check in twice and was told our room wasn’t ready both times. The lady at the front desk was very rude and unhelpful. She said she would take our phone number and call when the room was ready. 3 hours later we still hadn’t heard back so we ended up canceling our reservation.

Recently enjoyed a three night stay at the Equinox. The resort has an old world charm in a uniquely beautiful part of VT. The rooms are clean and, unlike cookie-cutter modern hotels, they are generally larger and unique. The beds are quite comfortable. We enjoyed the indoor pool, spa and fitness spaces and as spring and summer arrive, golf, tennis and other outdoor pursuits will replace winter skiing. Hiking trails are nearby as well. Great value as an adjoining 2 queen room offered at best available rate of king plus the resort fee for both rooms. Shopping is abundant at the local outlets. Some great restaurants in Town, including the Silver Fork 2 blocks away. As the area has seasonal features be aware the shoulder seasons can have varied hours of operation.

We had a wonderful stay recently at the Equinox Golf Resort and Spa! First of all, we would all like to thank Jill for helping to coordinate our group. She was always quick to respond to my emails and calls. We came with our small team of freestyle skiers for a competition at Stratton Mountain. Everyone was comfortable and happy in their well appointed rooms. The athletes loved the pool, game room, and smores nights. The adults enjoyed the cozy common spaces near the fireplaces in the evenings and the music on Sat. night at the pub. The location was convenient for going into town for team dinners. We are looking forward to coming back next season!

Sad, tired, and annoying, and it's all management's fault. Four management changes over seven years will kill anything good and it did. The Equinox needs to hire more people, give them good pay and benefits and invest in the buildings. We stayed at the Equinox about 15 years ago and remembered it fondly with its upscale amenities and outstanding service. Unfortunately, this trip will be our last unless major improvements are made. The rooms, common areas and spa have not been updated in many years and are in disrepair. The staff is clearly stretched thin (a person responsible for putting out coffee in the lobby was breathless running to complete the task). Upon arrival we asked if there was valet, the bell man said they "didn't have that anymore." The gift shop was open just two days a week from 9-2 and 9-3 respectively (why bother?). Many restaurant tables were removed from the Marsh Tavern (Likely a Covid social-distancing remanent kept this way due to being short-staffed.) The worst was a disingenuous manager-type woman who guided us to the restaurant when we asked if there was somewhere to buy a snack, like an apple or bag of popcorn, to hold us over until our dinner reservation at the Reluctant Panther (a few doors down on the same street). She said she had never heard of the Reluctant Panther. I understand an employee wanting guests to dine in their own restaurant but her smarmy attitude and the fact that she lied about not knowing one of the top 5 restaurants in Manchester (on the same street!) was obnoxious. A gracious employee would have said that the Reluctant Panther was a lovely place (it was OUTSTANDING), wished us a fun evening, and opened the gift shop so we could buy a bag of chips. The spa: Just demolition it and start over. The hot tub was old, ugly and the jets didn't work. The pool looked like something out of the 1990s. The ladies and men's locker rooms were in disrepair with cabinets falling off lockers, grungy showers, a mildewed (and tiny) steam room, and few amenities. It seemed that, in general, when something broke, they simply did not repair or replace it i.e., the bathing suit spinner. The sign was on the wall, but the device had been removed. The spa front desk attendants ranged from exhausted looking to dazed. The spa area is also unregulated. Spa guests are supposed to be 16 years and older. On two occasions when I was in the lady's locker room, a guest came in with her 10-ish year-old son! Despite asking him, repeatedly, to stand in the vestibule, he kept wandering around. The second time I encountered him, I was coming around the corner in a towel! It wasn't for guests to discuss with the mother (it likely would have caused an unpleasant encounter) but the staff should have been present enough to remind her of the rules. Most spas have locker room attendants but the Equinox front desk people were doing double-duty as locker-room attendants and could only be in the locker periodically. Management: Plan better and hire-more-people. Two bright spots: The concierge was a lovely gentleman. He was kind and helpful to us and I overheard him assisting others. Don't lose him. Also, the breakfast was well done. Someone in the AM kitchen knows what they are doing. It looked like all the plates leaving the kitchen were well done. Our server was doing a good job given how busy it was. There needed to be another server but that's a management issue, not the fault of the server. There are many lovely places to stay in Manchester. On our next visit, we will try one of them. We will not return to the Equinox until the owners get their act together.

Wonderful history but past it’s prime. Five star pricing without delivery. We stayed for three nights and only had housekeeping when we asked for it. On the second night housekeeping told us they were cleaning rooms where people had checked out. They had 35 rooms occupied and focused on cleaning the 165 rooms that were going to be empty. Sunday morning they wanted $25 for 2 cappuccinos! A resort charge is fine if there are some sort of facilities but not here. We love Manchester but will stay somewhere else.
